Drag / move, hide all messages

With regard to the blog of Lilybiri, Drag & Drop Captivate blog - tips, is it possible to hide all the explanations with the reset button, instead of letting one of them is visible?

Success will be made, similar to the Question slides, when the answer is correct. You're right, it's very confusing. Everything that you select in the interaction & slipped, you will still see the settings for D & D total, not for this component. What you see on the Actions tab are always stocks for total interaction, never for any object. And as I wrote, the fact that the actions of the object must be open with a button on the tab Format is also very confusing. The change of the user interface is certainly not make it easier for D & D, but it is of course my personal opinion. You must select the target to be able to find the actions of the object, where you have stocks of the object for each drag source that is moved to the target, why?

  • How to move all messages in local folders?

In my Thunderbird I have an IMAP account that is no longer existing on the remote mail server. All mail is on my local drive I can open it and browse. What I want is to move all messages in local folders and get rid of the old count IMAP. It's really annoying that it always tries to connect to the remote server all the time when I open and browse mail.

How can I do? When I try to drag and drop a few messages, Thunderbird attempts to remove them from the remote server, which of course not as the remote account does not longer exist, and that is why nothing is moved. I also searched if there is an option to take into account in offline mode, but found nothing.

    Try it in "offline" mode
Click on two screen blue icon in the lower left corner of the status bar to switch to offline mode which will show two black screen icon.

  • My 'all messages' option disappeared from the p-not sure when. Where can I find it?

Looking for a deleted mail and couldn't find it. A few weeks so I must have deleted automatically. The memories I consulted similar before glancing through all the mail, but this filter is no longer there. Where can I find it?

    Hi shelannie,

I understand that you have deleted an e-mail message and are now trying to get it back.  Was the message from a POP or IMAP account?  Depending on the type of account and preferences that you have set, you may be able to retrieve the message if it is still on your email provider's website.  Your profile says you work with OS X Yosemite.  The resources below will explain how to search mail deleted in the Mail application for this operating system.

If it was an e-mail message that you received, you may have to ask the sender to send?

    Address postal (Yosemite): delete messages

You can delete messages that you have more need to help keep your mailbox manageable and free up space on your Mac or on the mail server. Options e-mail preferences determine whether you can view and retrieve messages once you remove them.

    Delete a message

In the main window of Mail: move the pointer on the header of the message, and then click the Delete button appears. Or select a message in the list, then click Delete in the toolbar of e-mail.

Tip: To avoid the message following selected automatically (and marked as read), hold down the Option key when you delete a message.

In a notification E-mail: move the pointer to the notification, and then click the trash when it appears.

    Delete multiple messages

Select the messages or conversations in the list (hold down the command key when you click each item), and then click the Delete button in the mail toolbar, or press the delete key. If you select a conversation, all messages in the conversation are deleted.

Looking for a set of messages that you want to remove. For example, search for message dated 1 August and 5 September 2014 by entering "date: 8/01/14-9/05/14" in the search field in mail. Or search for messages from a specific person. Select and then delete the messages found.

Remove a mailbox, which deletes all the messages it contains.

    Show deleted messages

How you view deleted messages depends on how you define options in Mail preferences. To check yours, choose Mail > Preferences, click accounts, and then click Mailbox behaviors.

If your settings to move the deleted messages in the Trash: you can view the messages in the trash until they are permanently deleted. To recover a deleted message before it is cleared, drag it to the trash to another mailbox.

If your settings do not move the deleted messages in the Trash: messages can temporarily stay in their original location, but are dimmed or hidden. To show or hide, if they are available, choose View > Show Deleted Messages or view > hide deleted Messages.

    Permanently erase deleted messages

Automatically delete messages: choose Mail > Preferences, click accounts, and then select an account. Behavior of the ball click, and then in the section Trash choose when you want to post to permanently erase deleted messages.

If you have an IMAP account, which the server is configured to delete older messages, they are deleted regardless of your settings.

Manually delete messages at any time: choose the mailbox > erase deleted items, and then select an account.

If you delete by error messages, you can drag them out of the trash to another mailbox. Or select them from the trash, choose Message > move to > [letters].

  • Outlook Express in the "compact" XP files I lost all messages in folders to recycle as per the BAK doc

Frequently, Outlook Express 6 wants to "compact" file. I welcomed that this and this time lost all messages in the folders of Outlook Express. They appear in recycle as per the BAK how doc do to restore the trash by the Doc to the folders in Outlook Express?  Also, how can I preclule this loss in the future?

    Thank you

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

    Recovery methods:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • HELP > all the post of Inbox will also to "all messages" and "Favorites".

All received mail is undesirable not only the box receipt, but also automatically to 'Favorites' and 'all mail '. I never asked it. As soon as I remove a mail from one of these 3 boxes, this mail is also removed from you other 2 boxes (records). My Inbox I always keep as little as possible so there is no problem being too full. There are also log time to get my visible incoming mail because it is distrubuting himself first to the other 2 boxes. If I would delete this 'mail' box, all my Inbox would be emptied... What to do and why it's happening?

It comes to gmail? I suggest that you move the account settings in Thunderbird and unsubscribe from these records. Or better yet, go to the website of gmail settings and disable them.

Gmail isn't really use folders. They store all your messages in a big pile and apply labels to them. So when you ask to see, for example, sent messages, it shows you only the messages with a "Sent" label.

The big pile of messages is of course the display of "folders" named "all messages". I would say that you don't need to see this in Thunderbird. Similarly, gmail may apply a star for you. (I don't know why, and what do the stars mean). Turn off again this folder in Thunderbird it will eliminate.

I found a few other 'smart' things that made gmail and I went to the site of gmail settings to turn them off. I'm not interested in decide them what's 'important' for me, and I have no use for their 'circles' or 'categories '. You can disable all these, or at least preventing them to be shown to your e-mail client.

Just in case where it was not clear, do NOT remove things from all the messages until you are really sure that you really don't want them no more. Gmail has try to hurt to delete things; When you delete a message, they just hide so it can be recovered later.

  • How to delete all messages in iOS 10

What happened to the 'TRASH ALL' button in the MAIL for ios10?    Maybe I MISS something that you guys can tell me?

    < published by host >

Here is a workaround until Apple restores the Select All - deletion in 10 iOS feature:

    1. open the Inbox that you want to delete all

    2. tap on edit (top-right)

    3. press to select any email (this will allow the move feature)

    4. press on and hold 'Move' (down in the Center)

5 now the 'Move', click to deselect the email from step 3 (you do this so all e-mails, not only the selected e-mail to move)

    6. release 'Move' (this will bring up a list of destinations to move your mail

    7. press on 'Trash' or 'Archive' to move all messages to the respective destination

It's complicated, but a workaround, however.

  • Drag the e-mail message open mailbox

I've recently updated to El Capitan.  In latest versions OS Mail, when you opened a message, there is an icon at the top of the window of the message before the title and you can click and drag the open message to the mailbox to check it.  The icon is now gone and I can't find a way to do this without finding the original message in my Inbox.  Is there a way to get around this?  The reason why I want to do this is because I often open the messages I need to treat and leave them open as a reminder.  The message in the Inbox becomes buried in hundreds of others and so it is easier to find and move the open message that he finds in the Inbox list.

Try dragging the message header. I can't test this on a machine of El Capitan right now, but I think it works.

  • How can I manage "all messages" - he'll be back in 3 years and I want the old deleted emails!

I try to keep my account and cannot didn't know that the "all messages" had my emails 3 years back. How can I clear this box only have the emails say 6 months?

    I'll then from now on...

All of the mail is not really useful for me - or is the important field! I only use the Inbox, sent, and of course the garbage that I regularly delete... spam is also useful to have...

I guess it's a gmail or google account?
I have a Gmail, IMAP and use a filter to move all messages that are over 14 days in a local folder. (NOT a folder on Gmail) when I remove (with filter) each over 30 days which is NOT marked. It works, and "all messages" are light.
    EDIT
If you have e-mail messages in folders on Gmail, then removing all-mail will remove those as well. First move everything you have in local folders, and then delete. You don't have to subscribe to all mail

  • I usually keep all messages on my PC, but delete the older say 60 days on the server.

Options of mail from the Inbox indicates that I can erase only (copy to PC and copy on the server), but I will not hold all messages... is there a way around this for example to transfer all messages, I want to keep out of my Inbox to a different folder or folders and then allow the removal of e-mails from my Inbox that will also remove the copy on the server? If this is true, where can I set up the folder to keep the e-mails and the movement or the copy of emails in that folder are possible automatic... If yes how?
    Appreciate your advice.

Your question implies that you use IMAP. Move messages you want to keep the Local Folders account in Thunderbird. This gives you a local copy (on your HARD disk), you need not what is on the server.

You can automate the movement in local folders using Message filters.

I have time stamps for messages under tension, but I seem to only get a timestamp in early conversations. If more than one hour or so passes, then I will get another timestamp. But I would really like to see timestamps for each message. Is there a way to enable this feature or am I the GROUND?

Put your finger on one of the messages, and then drag to the left. You should see the schedules for all messages.

Go to view | Current view | Show all messages to make sure that you have just selected 'Hide read messages.

If this does not help, check your Recycle Bin, the bak files which are dbx files, you can restore backups.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2

If this does not help, then you will probably need my program DBXpress (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/), which will extract the messages from individual dbx files, and if messages are no longer in the files, it can extract from the disc itself.

  • All messages sent to or forwarded are recorded in the OUTPUT box in sent box

Correction... All messages sent or transmitted Gets an error message but no message appears, then it passes in the Outbox. I then have to remove the error message and highlight the Outbox and delete the mail...

You ask a forum of Internet Explorer, but my CrystalBall said it is a problem of Outlook Express. Yes?

You have apparent dbx file corruption.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:

  • Drag / move does not work

Windows Explorer - updated my computer with the latest updates of Windows XP on February 26 - since then the function drag / move on Windows Explorer (and my office) didn't work. I did a scan full antivirus and came out the own. Also checked the properties of the task bar and Start Menu and confirm the Drag and Drop check box is checked. No new hardware recently added with the exception of an APC battery backup. Suggestions for remedies?

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    Method 1.
Let us first start the sfc scan and check if there are any file system corruption.
    a. to do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right click Guest and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow

  • Cannot drag move & on win7 x 64 programs

Hello, I need help on why I can't do drag & drop of images/files on programs such as Photoshop CS5 / CS6 or images/files to other programs & browsers.
I CAN do drag & drop under windows and folders, etc, but not in the programs. I read almost all the solutions found here and on Google without success. I went from keyboards and mouse still nothing, checked the settings in the menu start-star & options in IE8, cleaned the registry with ccleaner, I tried the keys ESC and combo but again without success.

It is a new installation of Windows 7 ultimate with the latest drivers from the website or x 64. I have a Windows 7 x 86 as well (same setup with the x 64) and I can do all the drag & drop on it.
This bothers me because I do a lot of hanging around in photoshop and other editing software.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hello

    1. what happens when you try and drag - move?
    2. This involved for other users on the computer?

    Method 1:

I also suggest a clean boot to see if a third-party program has been installed and that it interferes with the operating system.

Note: after a repair, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the Knowledge Base article.

    Method 2:
In Photoshop CS5 a new image opens as a new layer, and not as a new document. For example, you can create a document in Photoshop, first, and then see if drag - déposer works.

    Method 3:
Try to create a new user account to see if the same behavior occurs.

  • DND (drag / move) and listeners

I want to drag a JComponent with all its properties and the Auditors.
How can drag you listeners registered to a component when you perform a drag-and drop?

I have an extension of a JTextArea. I got drag and drop it into another container.
After release, some of the listeners don't work anymore.
I can cope with headphones I've added manually, but not initialized or added somewhere else during initialization of the component.

For example, I have the following 3 headphones on JTextAre:
    dot = 0, class = 0 javax.swing.text.JTextComponent brand $MutableCaretEvent
    javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicTextUI$DragListener@25cbfa42 class javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicTextUI$ DragListener
    Dot = (0, Forward) Mark class javax.swing.plaf.basic.BasicTextUI (0, forward) = $BasicCaret

After release, the new component has 4 listeners, the MutableCaretEvent is double and one of the two no longer receive events.
    dot = 0, class = 0 javax.swing.text.JTextComponent brand $MutableCaretEvent

If I drag and drop the JTextArea autour, for every drop of the number of listeners of MutableCaretEvent increases. If I drag the JComponent about 10 times for example,
    I'll have 11 MutableCaretEvent listeners.

    So my questions are:
1 - How can I remove the MutableCaretEvent that no longer work?
2 - should that other listeners I care? How 'Add' those who eventually doesn't work anymore after the decline?
3-is there a way to move a JComponent from one container to another without going through the process of serialization (drag / move)?

    Thank you

What is even work considered less listeners? It seems that you remove the component in exportDone of the target component. Also, you must call revalidate(); Repaint(); on the container if dynamically add you items.

I don't know if the serialization uses the default constructors. If he does it would add additional listeners. You might want to just export the reference to the component (mimetype localObjectRef or something like).

Please do a NBS (simple chassis, two panels and a text box to slide between them).
