Dragging a rectangle creates a giant rectangle instead of the size I want

Whenever I try to draw a square/rectangle using the Rectangle tool, I end up creating a GIANT rectangle instead of the size that I want (something more close to 400 x 80 px).

Here's what I do:

  • create new layer in the Layers panel
  • Select The Rectangle tool
  • Click and hold click to start dragging rectangle > immediately coordinate are something like x :-8800 :-1550 (see pic1)
  • If I release the click now, I find myself dragging a rectangle GIANT (see Note2)
  • now I have to zoom way inorder really far to see the edges of the rectangle and be able to resizeRectangle Click.pngrectangle result.pngRectangle zoom out.png

This only happens when I use the Rectangle tool, not the rounded Rectangle, ellipse, polygon, line, or custom shape tools.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here? I really appreciate your help!

I use the latest version of Photoshop on a new iMac.

Hello

Perhaps under geometry Options you set size or one of the other options and more unconstrained ticked with a predefined size is entered?

You probably want it value without constraints.

  • Script to display the size of InDesign pages instead of the size of the Document format

Hello, I have been very kindly helped with the script (using a text variable), which displays the size of the current page within an InDesign document below.

I don't know anything about the scripts by the way!

Opening in the sidebar is the default value for the bookmarks created via a link or a button on a Web site.

You can view the properties of a bookmark using the context menu in the side bar (Ctrl + B; Cmd + B on Mac).

In the Bookmark Manager (bookmarks > organize bookmarks) you can click on the button more in the lower details pane on the right.

  • Loading images in a slideshow to 50% (half the size) instead of 100%

I load pictures into a type of "miniature" of the slide show (using the widget). The image files are exactly the size I want for the web page: 667 x 500 @ 72 dpi. However, they fall into the window of Slideshow at 50% instead of 100%. I think that a photo file would 100% and be centered by default. Is there a way to make them fall in the window at 100% and perfectly centered?

So far my two workarounds are:

    1. make the pictures twice as big as I need. They do come perfectly centered and the frame of slide show. BUT, A) they seem a little jagged and pixelated because they are crushed to fit the image of the slide show, and B) is - what this means my site must load the data twice, or Muse resize the image to export files?

    2. resize and move each image one at a time to 50% to 100% using the values of x: y: w: h: in the top toolbar. It is a pain of your time, but photos appear cleaner because they are displayed correctly at 100%.

I played with the commands "new heroes: & new tile: adjust content proportional / Fit frame proportionally", but they seem to be doing nothing. I don't see any difference at all. If someone could explain to me how to use these controls, that would be fine too, as I can not find any good tutorials that tackle these controls. Why are they called 'New' anyway?

It seems crazy to me that loading the photos in a slideshow is not 100%!

Have you enabled the HiDPI Option in Site Properties? Then, this behavior is normal and expected. To make sure, that the resolution of the image corresponds to HiDPI views, the images are placed at 50%.

  • White rectangles instead of transparency

    Hi all

I'm a beginnger in InDesign - what a great tool!

I get white rectangles instead of transparency when exporting (any version of) PDF or printed, but very well when you export to JPEG. I use a 3rd party template

    Using InDesign 6.0

    Thank you

Your question of the export quality could be a couple different things. It could be the result of saterizing the vecor in an effort to solve the problem of white box, or it could be that the link is actually missing or obsolete.

  • A rectangle tilted behind the text - any chance to automate the process?

    Hello

I would like to create the effect that you see in this image:

    GYNGlkb.jpg

The black and orange rectangles behind the capitals. The source which is pictured above comes from professional studio. They put separate behind the textframe rectangle:

    qyvwbAW.jpg

Imagine that you are creating a catalog of 500 products. Each product has a black and a rectangle of color. There are 20 codes of different color for the rectangle at the bottom (these rectangles some length vary, depending on the size of the text above). I put an object square to the bottom layer as approach somewhat clumsy. It's like divisors of paragraph by the line creation tool. Could you recommend any other way more stored for this? I'm pretty sure that I put a thousand of these rectangles to the layout and the customer will decide (a day before printing), that "tilt reverse would look more professional"... "

The best way to do this would be a paragraph NET, but - what a surprise - no chance to skew the ends.

I tried to create the new preset of the race, but no tilt option.

I've also distorted the line manually and try to create the Style of the object of it. The chisel was not inherited by the new object Style.

Should I really do this manually in the era of the astronauts, cell phones and even electric kettles?

    Thank you!

  • Changes according to the size of the rectangle corner radius...

With CS5 and I draw a rectangle, change the top rounded angle, to the rayon.125.  Depending on the size (height) of the rectangle, the RADIUS is different.  If the rectangle is. 1875 "the RADIUS is"inferior"to the search boxes that are. 25' or more... How can I fix?

    will this work?

Create an image with your corner radius.

Create a frame slightly larger than your desired head block.

Cut the second frame (or copy) to the Clipboard.

Select the first image and object > paste inside.

Select the image smaller, just stuck in (you may need to use the direct Selection tool or object > select > summary occasionally) and move it to your taste.

I went a little over Board with the screenshot example, but all the elements are displayed.

Bonus points, enter this group last image and drag it to your desktop or graphics folder. You can import/place/drag in any document as necessary afterword. (.inds = extract of InDesign)

  • How draw rectangles more without the others go far?

Whenever I try to draw a rectangle by using the rectangle tool (no fill), he draws a rectangle. But when I try to attract another precedent is missing and if it shows only a single that is selected in the layers. How can I easily fix? I need to attract a large number of these forms, so the easiest way is best. Thanks and sorry if this question is already answered I can't find it.

Still too complicated for me. If you know of a video on youtube or somewhere else that would be useful, otherwise it's okay.

As JJ said going back, it sounds like you were using the marquee tool.  If this is the case, after dragging on the first rectangle, hold down the SHIFT key and add others.  When you are ready go Edit > STROKE and caress the spirit selections the color of your choice, and you will get a result as in JJ post #2

  • Identical rectangles appear in different sizes.

I created six rectangles (all copied from the first), and three of them are appearing as different sizes from their published. It depends on the application. You use an inDesign application of PAO as Quark XPress, or something else?
