  At first please be so nice model number and post accurate of your laptop (C660-xxx). I don't know if your laptop comes with preinstalled OS but if yes does I m wondering really you do not have original recovery image.

  I think you should try to boot from the original Windows XP CD. Let's launch the setup and format the whole HARD drive and erase all partitions!

  Well at first, my computer has started making weird as I was not able to use firefox or msn because it said that there is no connection.   The hard disk will fail for sure either sooner or later, but it is a good idea to take a new hard drive and replace it with the old.

  You can use the Windows 8 installation CD/DVD to reinstall Windows 8 in the future. If the system breaks down suddenly and you have not taken any backup of important files, creating full system image is always recommended.
