Drive hard keeps fills, using CC Cleaner & Deffrag for a few weeks now. I do go down, & then it fills again! Help, please.

I'm running Vista 64, SP2 and my hard drive keeps filling.

I used CC Cleaner and Deffrag program for a few weeks now.

(just the CC Cleaner on its own takes me awhile because I don't want to delete everything I shouldn't)

I have moved away from home to the office and checked to see if there are "too many connections (?)" just in case it's something in the process.  Honestly, I can't say if there are too many?

I know that I don't want to lose the ability to remote into my office... so I leave them alone.

I wanted to delete some 'hidden' files $Recycle... but am concerned that my operation files original files are mixed in the files?

Is there a way to return to the top... few of the restoration copies?

AND... How can I stop this from happening?  I spent hours trying to manage it.

It comes down, then it fills again!

Help, please.

  • When I open a web page any using firefox, its ok for a few minutes, then he opens another page saying it is redirected for no reason at all

When I open a web page any using firefox, its ok for a few minutes, then he opens another page saying it is redirected for no reason at all, the homepage remains open, but the other page start for no reason at all in another tab

It's very consistent, he arrives a few minutes? In this case, I suggest this test:

To find out if one of your extensions is the culprit, could you test mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

    Any difference?

  • Drive hard keeps spinning upwards

The computer works fine but I have a little busy, accessed HDD for something.

    Hi tim8888,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

You can use Disk Defragmenter and check if the problem persists.

    To defragment your hard drive

    1. open the disk by clicking the Start button Defragmenter. In the search box, type and then Disk Defragmenter in the list of results, click Disk Defragmenter.

    2. under status, select the disk to defragment.

    3. to determine whether the disk should be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of disk fragmentation in the last run column. If the number is greater than 10%, you must defragment the drive.

    4. click on defragment disk. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/improve-performance-by-defragmenting-your-hard-disk

If this does not work, put the computer into safe mode and check if the problem persists.

    To do this:

    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the lock button, and then click restart.

    2. do one of the following:

    ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    3. in the display Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select the safe mode option, and then press ENTER.

4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

    5. now check if the problem persists.

(To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.)

For more information about safe mode, click the following link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

You can also check the hard disk for errors. To do this:

    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    2. right click on the hard drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    3. click on the sur l' onglet tab Tools and then, under error-checking, click check now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that detects the scanning, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select automatically fix file system errors and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    4. click on Start.

  • Drive HARD keeps falling asleep after a minute on my Satellite M40

    Satellite M40x-175.

I've updated the BIOS with the latest version (1.60), and since the disc hard continues to fall asleep after a minute, no matter the power Windows or Toshiba Power Saver Settings.

Toshiba will be out an updated BIOS update soon?

    Help, please.

    Hello

I put t think that it s a bad BIOS function. As far as I know in the BIOS, you can change the settings for the HARD drive. Please check. Moreover, Toshiba Power Saver disabled power Windows settings. Have you checked the parameters of energy saving modes?

    Good bye

  • Sites Web using php and mysql successfully stopped the week last of sorting drop-down lists. Change something?

We run a programme of internal timesheet open source called Timesheet Next Gen available on Sourceforge. We have it worked for a few years without any problems. We moved all of our Firefox users because the developer has indicated that there are questions of the sort associated with PHP and MYSQL via Internet Explorer. Dropdown lists using surveyed data did not follow the order of sorting and list have been blurred without order with duplicate entries. We had experienced this on our Windows 7 workstations in Internet Explorer (any version) and everything worked fine in Firefox. For some of us with the MacBook, the sort worked well in Firefox and Safari.

Departure last week (perhaps Tuesday or Wednesday) all our users to Workstation Windows 7 has started to have the same sorting problems in Firefox with our internal website of timesheet. There is no change for timesheet Web site or the server that is running as much as php and server extensions web apache. I've since updated the server (Ubuntu) and apache, mysql and php are underway. Now sort in Firefox has stop working on our mac workstations. Safari is the only browser that works. We have installed Chrome on mac and Windows 7 and it does not sort either.

To wrap to the top of this thread, the solution is available here: http://sourceforge.net/p/tsheetx/discussion/779084/thread/02841540/

The general idea behind that the solution can be applied to other projects where a JavaScript object is created in PHP and you need access to its members in order of addition.

  • drive hard keeps disconnecting

not long ago, I bought a seagate 2 TB backup more hard drive (I think his name?) and not long after that I got it he began to act up, the hard drive itself works absolutely well but every now and then it will automatically disconnects neatly from my laptop, I have a mid 2012 15' mac pro which is in great need of upgrading and I receive the mac air the next month but it's quite annoying when your at half way through your files and it disconnects without warning. Does it randomly and even if I shift the wire slightly or sometimes even if not shift the wire or move the laptop at all always unplug it. has anyone else had this problem before? If so how to solve it? It's weird because when I'm in charge my ipad/phone with apple usb, I don't have problems with them, so I think it's just a really loose usb cable but is there anyway I could connect it wireless? This would be ideal, but I didn't buy a wireless hard drive, but they are too expensive

Based on my experience wih other external Seagate, the problem could be a faulty cable or a faulty case. I deal with two external Seagate whose pens were bad, specifically the removable base containing power/data connectors. In one case, Seagate sent me a replacement base and that solved the problem. The other drive was out of warranty. So I extracted from its enclosure and installed in a decent House, after which he worked perfectly. However, you should also check your energy saving settings. It is possible that they interfere with file transfers.

I wouldn't buy anything external to WD, Seagate drives, etc. I buy some player I want and install it in a good, such as OWC or Oyen digital body. I also tried Inateck and Anker, inexpensive cases with good results so far. These boxes make it easy to Exchange discs inside or outside for troubleshooting purposes, and you have the advantage of knowing exactly what player you are using. You can also use a USB 3 dock in this situation.

  • I can't connect to my external hard drive to my wireless network, it keeps askin for a username and password that none of my usernames and passwords work, help please

I'm unable to map to my external hard drive that I use for backup of three computers, the drive is connected to a desktop computer, I'm trying to map the drive on your laptop and it ask again me a network user name and password that I don't have, I tried all of the username and password in my arsenal and none of them work , I did not create my network with a password. can someone help me please.

    Hello

1 during how long have you had the problem?
    2. don't you make changes before the problem?

    • You have uninstalled the CD software that fails to withdraw properly in the registry.
