  I think that the whole operating system will be restored in a new virtual machine... I have it... The changes will have to be done in the file listener.ora (hostname or IPADDRESS and also PORT NO in case you want another port as the existing one). Once you have made the changes that you have to bounce the listener, I mean stop and start the listener... I don't think that any other changes are needed... Make sure that the same need for entries (from the listener) to be included in the TNSNAMES file. ORA file both client-side... The tns service is used to connect to the remote database server (from the demand side or whatever source you used to connect to the database server)... I just think that the change to do...   Just to be clear, iCloud backup & iCloud drive are essentially two separate things.

  This can be useful, iCloud is primarily a service synchronization. Means that it can take the changes you make on one device and other devices to update this change if you do not have to be done individually on each device. Useful if you have more device. iCloud Drive is the term used for the part of iCloud that can synchronize files between your devices, just like Dropbox. iCloud backup is the backup of live data to iCloud part. Sync services aren't backups, just a way for your data reach another device.

  On your iPhone, if you go to:

  Settings > general > Srorage & use iCloud > manage storage (under iCloud) > [phone] (BACKUPS)

  You can see what data is stored for each application (Tap 'Show all Apps' if necessary).

  If you use Time Machine, open the system preferences pane, click Options, and remove the external drive from the exclusion list. It is not possible for all formats of volume.

  I have a Mac Pro, and the system drive (a 850 Pro SSD Samsung I installed it a year ago) has failed.  At this point, I can't clone it, and the only recent backup I have is the Time Machine backup.  I have an old backup to clone (if all goes well bootable).

  What is the best way to install a new HD and restore from Time Machine backup?  All of the guides I can find mention using recovery recovery partition or on the internet, or which are options in this case.

  A proposal, it is something like:

  (a) in a way to format the new disk (starting from the bootable clone if all goes well?)

  (b) restart into recovery mode?  Will be (a) install the recovery on the new disk partition?

  I have also 4 readers installed in the Mac (now dead), I don't know if that complicates.  (System, data, and a clone of each.  The clone system is very up to date.)

  (I normally also note make backups with SuperDuper! but for a reason that has not been running on this hard drive for months.)  "And it's too late now).

  (I'm on the latest version 10.10, not what it says in the signature.  The clone may be some 10,10 versions behind.)

  I am currently migrating my Time Machine backups from a 2 TB WD My Passport for Mac to a new WD 6 to my book for Mac. I have 63 backups on the old disk, and Finder says that the reader has TB filled 1.96.

  However, each individual backup is about 350 GB, which certainly does not. I think normally it was something weird with the Finder listing the wrong sizes, except that when I copy the backups to the new disk, they copy effectively to 350GB a piece. I initially tried to copy everything the ~ 2 TB Backups.backupdb at once, but it was so great, she didn't, then I copy on each both a backup in a folder that I had planned to rename "Backups.backupdb" at the end. At this rate, I will fill new TB cases 6 drive long before copying all backups on.
