Driver IDT contain the Panel too?

I have a HDX18 and am about to do a clean install of Windows 7.  I see that on the site of HP for Windows 7, there is a driver IDT High Definition CODEC.  This driver file contains everything necessary to get the control panel IDT on your machine (the icon in your system tray that allows you to control the sound settings) or is there another download for the software part.  Just a little confusing because it says "driver" and no program.

Yes, the package also includes the control panel applet

    Hello

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I see you want to know if you can install programs on a drive with no operating system.

I wish to inform you that this is possible with only specific programs, which give the user an option to choose where the program is installed.

When a program is installed, it runs in program files, which lies in the operating system drive and can not be moved elsewhere.

Microsoft does not support changing the location of the program files

  • Failed drive that contains the recovery

When booting from the drive hard light just stops and freezes everything. I tried the system restore several times with no luck. I can run in safe mode.

I ran the tests hard drive on both drives. When you test the primary drive the test lasted a few seconds and could not say to replace the disk. The second disc had no problem.  Recovery files are on the main drive. Can I order a new disc with the files of recovery on this?

    GregD1

Here, I got good news for you, but I did not.

All HP makes available something is known as HP recovery media.  It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

They are not hard drives with already preloaded stuff.

Even so, HP does not store the Vista recovery media any longer, so you should check these other sites to see if they still carry it: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

  • How do I know which hard drive contains the operating system in the Hp Pavilion dv7-4069wm? The upgrade.

I think the upgrade of one of my hard drives (ea 320) in my HP Pavilion laptop dv7-4069wm for more storage.  I like to keep the drive that contains the operating system to avoid the hassle to make a copy, but I'm not sure which one that is. I have not replaced a hard drive before, and still less a double disc. Recently, I added more RAM and noticed that both hard drives looked the same. Can someone tell me how to know the difference?

  • HP Pavilion dv7t 3300: replacing hard drive SSD with the recovery DVD

My Pavilion dv7t3300 has two hard drives... A SATA 500 GB of data and an SSD 128 GB containing the operating system and other programs.   The SSD drive that contains the operating system failed.  When I install the replacement SSD, I intend to use the HP System recovery DVD (2) which came with the unit.  If I load the recovery disks will be erase/format all my data-files in the 500 GB drive.

    The new drive is "naked".

    Thank you for your help

    Tim

I just remove the second disk while making the recovery operation and slap it in when the process is complete. Better safe than sorry. Theoretically, the recovery disks will not affect the second drive, but it's really easy to be sure that they will not be 100%.

Guess he would seek software/drivers for the chipset MB

& sata/IDE controller software. Get the MB hardware specifications, go to the mfg

Web site & download the software and drivers. If intel, download the chipset installation

utility & install it 1. The other would be the SATA or / and drivers for the MB IDE

controllers, 'Matrix Storage console' would be the one, also chk for desktop

Internet downloads, amd, and other brand materials would be substantially the same.

  • How can I put in a new hard drive to replace the main HD that crashed and that contains the operating system

My HD C: broke down and needs to be replaced.  It contained the operating system (XP).  My other drive is OK.  I have all the original cdroms, including the operating system.
I need to know if I should be careful what it is.

    Hello Nigel

Each hard drive is different with their adjustment as far as riders go unless you have purchased the same exact model. Make sure that you set the jumpers on the correct setting for the new hard drive with the manual that came with the hard drive. You can also reconnect the cables of data and power supply for the reader who does not appear because they can be loosened.

I'm trying to set up my hp laserjet as a shared printer on my network domestic. The printer is attached to a Win7 x 64 machine, all the other computers on my network are XP 32. When I try to load additional x 86 drivers on Win7 computer, I get the message: "the specified location does not contain the driver hp LaserJet 1320 PCL 5 for the architecture of processor required. Everyone,

After the announcement yesterday, all of a sudden today, in Windows Update, there is a new driver PCL 6, Microsoft Update. I had to uninstall the printer in order to obtain this update to install. After this update, the shared property now would allow me to install the x 86 drivers. This update was not there yesterday, got to admit that Microsoft has acted quickly on this one.

    Hello Sharon,

When you say "AutoCorrect" do you mean this:
