driver in double lvlib

Hello, my question is about HW, manipulation of "best practices".

I have a LV project linking (beside other things) to a checkpoint of MKS PR4000 (it is a digital device of power supply and the reading/controller for pressure and flow regulators sensors).

So far, I have 2 units of flow controller connected to this unit of PR4000. My PC (and my project of LV) connects to the PR4000 via RS232. I have the drivers Web site NOR for the PR4000, all work very well.

For handling easy project that I created my own drivers based on the official drivers, only including the features I need.

I put these drivers in a library lvlib under the project tree. I have an ActionEngine (the scope is private) and some wrapper screws (scope public) to be able to settle all the entries as 'necessary' in the connector pane and to hide the reference, son etc. inside these wrappers. It's also nice that all screws of public lvlib have the same color, easy to find in my main block diagram.

My question: then, I need to expand my experimental rig: I will deploy an additional unit of PR4000 (and connect to the PC via a USB-RS232 cable, since the native RS232 interface is already occupied). What is the 'Orthodox' way to independently use the same drivers for this second PR4000 unit? Since I have already set up the LVLIB for this HW unit, can I simply duplicate the lvlib of PR4000 under the project tree? So I have two lvlib under the project tree: Let's say PR4000_1.lvlib and PR4000_2.lvlib. I could put a different color for the second lvlib and apply it to the screws, so I could easily distinguish public screws which will have the same names. So is this the usual way to proceed?

Thanks for the tips!

Kind regards

Yes, that might work. Do ' Save as ' on the lvlib to a different directory and you should get a copy of all the screws and a new file .lvlib with a different name.

Think about this, what would you if you had suddenly adding 10 devices? 10 copies of the lvlib would you? What would you do if you discovered that there was an error in your VI - you must update every 10 copies of the VI!

A best practice would be to modify your action engine to store several references of the device (e.g., indexed by name (variant attributes are good for this) or by number).

In my view, is recommended for your "driver" be independent of your references of material - so have your screw driver with references, supplied with wire and then manage these references outside your lvlib driver - now I generally store in shift registers in my application. There is a slightly more advanced version of who uses DVR to store references to your material.

  • Hard drive inexplicably doubled from one day to the next

My hard drive inexplicably doubled from one day to the next.  I now have only 3 GB free.  I did disk cleaning, defrags, uninstalls, deleted files (just 23 GB of personal files, music, etc. 99 GB drive), etc.  I downloaded TreeSize and see what the size of my files are, but don't know what is normal.  Common sense tells me that clearly something has changed the last time I used my computer to create this problem, but the only change I made was moving my personal files in my user folder to a Public folder, and then in my computer with my other laptop's network.  I checked three times, and my previous user folder files have definitely missing.  Could a bunch of file system are duplicated or something like that?  I know that I cannot delete them, but is it possible to clean them safely?

To clean all the files on the computer

    1. Click to open Disk Cleanup.

    2. In the drives list, click the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.

    3. In the Disk Cleanup dialog box, click on clean up system files. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    4. In the disk cleanup: drive selection dialog box, select the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.

    5. In the dialog box disk cleanup, on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the check boxes for the types of files that you want to remove, and then click OK.

    6. In the message that appears, click on delete files.

The other Options tab is available when you choose to clean up the files of all users on the computer. This tab includes two additional ways to free disk space even more:

      • Programs and features. This option opens programs and features in Control Panel, where you can uninstall programs you no longer use. The column size in programs and features shows how much disk space each program uses.

      • System Restore and shadow copies. With this option, you can remove all but the most recent point on the restore disc.

Use system restore to return your system files to an earlier point in time, restore points. If your computer is running normally, you can save disk space by removing the previous restore points.

In some editions of Windows 7, restore points can include previous versions of files, called the shots and backup images created with Windows complete PC Backup. These files and images will also be deleted. For more information about system restore, see what is system restore?

  • I need to copy the software to the double boot drive

    Hi Noel,

    You remember me?

Seriously I have XP upwards, and the operation and the goal to be able to run a multiboot system in order to run the two old software packages. Crazy I know, but I need to do.

    Simply, I have the following:

    Drive C: System

    Drive D: Windows XP NTFS

    E: drive Volume in Fat32.

On this disc, I need to copy on a package that I have on an old drive that double boots: Windows 95 disk 1, part 1: and an old software Paradox on the 2 disc package, part 2.

I lose my way in which the first due date can help you?

    Concerning

    Hi RaphaelEllis,

You will need to check with the software manufacturer to see if there is a version update for Windows XP.

  • My hard drives do not open when I double click on them

Well, I tried to open my local drives by double clicking it or by entering. But a dialog box appears asking what application I want to open them. I tried in Folder Options and also in editing the registry. But, unfortunately, I couldn't get it solved. But I still think, I need to do some repair work. I scanned my computer for viruses and it's erased. If you could, please tell me a way to solve this problem.

    Ananthan Shayan,
I suggest the tool on your PC running System File Checker.  The link below describes the tool and how to operate it.  Post back with the results.

  • music file will not play in second hard drive double click Error "" the requested operation requires a rise ".

Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click.

    Windows 7 ultimate/64

I have a second hard drive on which I store my music files. If I open a player (Foobar is what I use now) and open the music file in the program, he plays very well, since the second HD.

But if I double click on the music file (.mp3, usually), I get the message:

"The requested operation requires a rise."

I think it should open in the player by default when I do that.

I remember well, it wasn't the case when I started to use this computer (it's fairly new), while something might have changed.
I have the .mp3, .wav etc all default extensions for the Foobar player program.

I went through elaborate measures to appropriate the entire disk and have granted full permissions for me as a user, following to the letter one of the many sites of the detailed instructions for this operation. But there is no help in sight.
Original title: music file won't play second hard drive by double click

So I can let my reader opens a music file leave a second drive, but I can't call him by double click or click right/context citing the player. When I do that, nothing happens, but I don't get the message "requires a rise."

Every time I think that I am getting to know Windows 7, something like this happens. Avoid to receive life dull, of course.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I've pretty much exhausted my own attempts.

    Jack

Update: I think I've solved the problem. I have no idea that what caused it, but here's what fixed it:

1 uninstalled Foobar with usual Control Panel uninstall
2A through the startup disk everything and delete folders or files with the name "foobar" in them.
3 did the same for the registry (creating a point of restoration first, of course)
    4 restarted
    5 download and install Foobar.

    Yes.

    Works very well.

A big thank you to all who responded.

  • external hard drive questions

How can I move only my new images on an external hard drive? I have my library of photos copied onto an external hard drive currently and you want to move only new images. The only way I know how is to move my library of photos once again, but then I would have 2 libraries of photos on the hard drive and double images I want.

Also, how can I save my external hard drive to another hard drive external?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am fairly new to back up my photos and tips on a systematic and safe method to save frequently pictures would be great! Thank you

You can "move" and new photos to any photo library - you must use the Photos to import, iCloud library sync them or PowerPhotos to move

How to backup up depends on your backup software - backup TimeMachine to an EHD - you need to remove the form DHM the list excluded in the TM preferences

  • Library/files in the folder on the external drive

The question is, when you import media to a folder on an external hard drive in a library on the same drive, which doubles the amount of space on the drive that is based on the size of the original files, so I choose the copy Option in the import window vs the leave in Place Option? I know, it should be obvious, don't tear me a new, I'm just checking?

What kind of file is it? It is a structure of camera file? If so, you will need to copy, and the media are double. If it's just a folder from the Finder with multimedia files in it, the media splits using hard links. It appears in both places, but only use space in a folder.

    Can I ask

If I create a restore before ding, if everything goes wrong I will be able to restore the system and have the former driver of his work?

The driver file is located in the Device Manager and sound, video and game controllers?

    Thank you very much.

    Peter

    Hi Peter,.

Yes, if you need to create the restore point before you perform the driver installation, you will be able to restore the system to the point of time at the beginning then you will get the old audio driver on your system.

I think it's a good idea to create the restore point.

    Good bye

  • Re: Need latest driver for Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ - 841S

    Hello

I have an Equium M50-192. I think that there is a problem with the drive. It can read CD/DVD, but does not recognize it as a DVD RW. Can any body point me to the latest version of the driver.
    Thank you

    Andy

    Hello Andy

Sorry, but your description of the problem is a bit confusing to me. What do you mean exactly? According to the specifications of your laptop should have DVD Super-Multi drive (+ R) double layer. This means that you should be able to burn DVD-R/RW with no problems.

You mean that you can't burn data or movies on blank media DVD - RW or DVD - RW media is not readable?

By the way: separate for ODD driver is not available.

  • Satellite A100: update the display driver

My laptop is equipped with an Ati Radeon X 1600 graphics card. I tried to update the driver, so I downloaded the 2 drivers who agree to my system. My problem is the same for both drivers:
If I try to install the driver by double-clicking the "Setup.exe" I get an error message: something about the very large number of characters in the installation folder (it is written in Greek, and I don't know how to translate).
If I try to install the driver by using the Device Manager-> maps-> update driver procedure (by following the instructions on http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ6701IN000GR01.htm) I get a "file not found" message on the files.
I thought to uninstall all Ati drivers and then the installation of the new, but what happens if the problem persists?
    Help, please!

    Hi Doc

I didn t understand where you found these updates. On the download page of Toshiba or ATI?

If you download drivers on the Toshiba download page, please be sure that you have chosen the right laptop (PSAxxx) model.

  • What happens when the photo of system library is on an external drive and then the system creates a library of Photos? How do merge you them?

What happens when the photo of system library is on an external drive and then the system creates a library of Photos? How do merge you them?

Your library system can be on an external drive, if the drive is Mac OS extended (journaled) format and mounted on-site.

But you must be careful, your external drive is always connected and available before the Photos and to import new photos.

If Photos opens a different library, news, you can switch to the library on your external drive by double clicking on an external library. You can have several libraries, no problem.

But pictures don't have any tools to merge libraries. You can switch between libraries, then open them alternately.  To merge two libraries export the photos of the smallest library and import the photos exported in the largest library.

Or use third-party "PowerPhotos" to move photos between libraries.  But the merger is not supported in the free trial version. You must purchase the full version. You can download it here: Fat Cat Software

  • How can I move photos from a Photo library on my Mac to a library of photos in an external drive?

I have 10 GB of photos in a photo library on my Mac Air, which is running out of storage space. I would like to move the photos to another library of Photos in an external drive which already hosts most of my photo archives. How can I execute the move?

    Thank you!

    Marco.

Copy the library from the internal drive to the external drive. You can then open the library on the external hard drive by double clicking it and check, if the copy does not work.

Photos has no tools to merge libraries. You can use both libraries alternating, or export the photos of a library and import them into the other library.

Or use the application PowerPhotos to merge the two libraries move photos from one library to another.

You will need the full version and paid f PowerPhotos to do.

Drag the Aperture library on an external drive, and double click it to open it in Aperture.

Just make sure that the disc external hard has a file system compatible - Mac OS extended (journaled) and use a drive mounted locally, not a NAS:

See the Apple help document: using Mac OS X extended, for your Aperture library locally mounted volumes
