Hello
You forgot to mention which version of Windows you are using.
In Windows 7, if you want to allow all users to have access to the music files, you can place them in the following folder.

Can't reinstall Windows Media Player - HELP!
I use Windows Media Center edition 2004. Lately my Windows Media Player has stopped working. I get a message to re - install. My WMC 2004 records are stored out of State, and I can't seem to them. I tried to download Windows Media Player 11, but I get an error during the installation, saying it is only compatible with WMC 2005 and later. I tried to install older versions of Windows Media Player, like 10 or 9, but I get an error saying that it has detected a newer version on my computer and will not let me continue with the installation.
How can I get Windows Media Player features? I can't get my disc out of State, and I can't afford to buy a new operating system. For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.Hello
1. what service pack is installed?
If it's service pack 3, then check Add Remove programs to determine what version of Media Player is installed.
If found, try to uninstall and then re-install the same or higher version once more and check if it helps.

I have problems separating my songs in some unknown albums, it won't let me do individual songs, when I FIND the ALBUM INFO, I can't get the value of the cd and it will be good for one of the songs but he will appoint the rest of the song on the album but the actual song is not right , it will be a different song complete, write me if you can help or if you need more information, * address email is removed from the privacy *.
I suggest that you first manually set another Album and Album artist for each track on the CD ripped and then use Find Album information on individual tracks.
If this does not help, you can try to reset the library following the instructions for your WMP and Windows version to http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary . Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

Microsoft windows media player does not retain the previous size. is irrtating so me gift of reorganize its size every time when I open it.plz help I want stable wmp version 11, version 12 is sucks.
Hello, Simone
I'll assume you're on Windows 7. Windows Media Player 12 is not supported on Windows Vista or XP and as such, you will need to go back to Windows Media Player 11.
You can check the permissions in the registry to ensure that it is able to record information.
Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.
Open the registry editor by clicking on start, type regedit.exe in the search box and press on enter, you may be prompted to continue.
In the registry editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, MediaPlayer, then Preferences.
It should be an element named LastLocation_26, right-click on it and select Rename, and rename it to old LastLocation_26.
Leave the open registry editor and open Media Player, then move it to your favorite place and close Media Player.
In the registry editor, press F5 on your keyboard and check if LastLocation_26 has been recreated.
If this is not the case, there is probably a permissions problem.
If so, the location must be registered.
Let us know.
