  I'm in the process of establishing a communication series between my PC and a microphone Mettler Toledo (XS-205) balance. The Balance is connected via an RS 232 cable to the adapter USB TU-S9, then to the PC. I do not see the port in the MAX of NOR and via the test Panel, I put the configuration of the communication according to those of my balance:

  BD rate: 9600

  Bit\Parity: 8 / no

  Stop bits: 1

  Handshake: no

  EndofLine: LF

  CharSet: Ansi\Win (only within the balance)

  Continuous mode: OFF ("");

  now, the fact is that if I try to query the command * IDN? \n I get as a response

  1: write operation (* IDN? \n)

  Back County: 6 bytes

  2: read operation
  Back County: 17 bytes
  S\sS\s\s\s-0.0006\s\sg\n

  with an error in the data returned (Hex 0xBFFF006C). I also tried to use the script provided by the site OR Mettler-Toledo scales, but I get all the data and at the end of the routine, I get error VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

  my mistake. Mettler Toledo balances does not accept the SCPI standard commands, but they have their own defined standardized command.

  I'm trying to get a scale (Mettler Toledo IND560) to work with a VI I have already created. It is connected by a serial connection 9 pins which is managed via a conversion Series / USB.

  It gives me a little trouble, and all I found through research is a pilot to balance work with a server of the OLC. I personally don't have access to one, and I was wondering if there is a simple step that I'm just missing.

  I think that you may need to be more specific.  Exactly how long do you have?  And exactly where are you stuck?

  The first thing you will need is the manual for the device.  Reading in place on their suggestions to communicate with the device.  They must specify the parameters of connection (for example, baud rate, etc).  And they could describe a specific high level protocol, you need to follow to get the data.

  And then to start with LabVIEW and serial communication, you will need to make sure that you have installed NI-VISA.  Then use built-in LabVIEW example Finder.  Take a look at this VI to go:

  Material input and output > series > basic writing and reading series

  We have an Option Bluetooth (BTS), installed in one of our scales (XP4002S) and is currently used with our printer Bluetooth (BT - P42). We would like to interface now scale with a laptop but currently only has a standard wireless card installed (no bluetooth capability). Once we buy and install a card of Bluetooth wireless on the laptop so I'll create a LabVIEW Application that will receive the data of weight on the scale and the program to enter directly into one Excel spreadsheet instead of print weight data.

  First Question, is there a generic instrument driver for our scale of such XP4002S as found in "mttx.llb"? Or is there a specific driver required?

  Thank you very much for your answer! The laptop is usually not connected to our network, so first I update the last Service Pack Windows XP. Our IT suggests using a USB Bluetooth wireless adapter instead of a Bluetooth network card installation, do you foresee any problems with the use of a USB adapter?

  As soon as I get the Bluetooth works on the laptop, I'll try using some of vi of the library to talk to first scale, then I'll go from there, are there any known issues when you try to communicatie with scales of Bluetooth?

  Hey everyone, I'm experimenting with the driver INI instruments and fall on a fatal runtime error.  Here's what I know so far:

  1. Run-time error occurs only when the first Ini_Putxxx
  2. It occurs if the target INI file does not yet exist.  Once the file is created with an Ini_WriteToFile, then the program will carry out all the functions of my Put without any error.

  Ideas?

  Are you sure about that? I tried just to call these functions in the window Interactive execution without errors (the destination file wasn't there before the call and was created without errors):

  Ini_PutXX functions do not have any disk access, they work entirely in memory; the only functions where the instrument is accessing the disk are Ini_WriteToFile and Ini_ReadFromFile. What error do you get? Can you post an example of code that shows the error?

  Computer portable satellite M35 S359. I had to install XP from normal Microsoft disk because my recovery disk Toshiba product 'Bad Machine' error when I tried to do my laptop. You can read about my efforts here - feel free to suggest solutions please.
