DROID: If I delete my main GMAIL account, it will mess up my phone?

I really need to change my G-Mail address, when I go to remove it so that I can make a new account main G-Mail, a warning appears saying: you sure you want to delete this account? Remove will remove also all the messages, contacts and other data from the phone. Move forward? If I 'delete account', will damage my phone somehow, or delete the apps that I need, etc etc?

It will be the same that make a reset of data factory.  You will lose also all paid apps that you have purchased.  You would have to pay back for all that you do not want to install again.  Your contacts in the old Gmail account will not port to the new account.  You can export an and import them into the other, though.
I think that the best route would be to add the other Gmail account on your phone as a secondary account.  You can stop your current account notifications and this way you will not lose anything at all.  You can use the secondary Gmail account as your main account without actually changing.  Would not give you what you need?  I hope this helps.

Hi all, thanks ahead for any help. I use sync for awhile now and works a lot and on all my devices. Now my problem is that I forgot the email that I use for my sync now has been deleted and I don't know how to change it. I save all the bookmarks and Favorites, but wanted to know if there was a simple way to change my sync now email to another gmail email address. Don't want to lose anything in case I have delete and then try to load my sync now the recovery key does not work with the new email.

Sorry, you cannot change the user name (your email address) on a sync account.

Set up a new sync account on a portable office/computer with the other Gmail account, but before you who make sure to separate all of your devices to your current synchronization account. Then connect your other devices to the new sync account.

  • Delete messages from Gmail, but keep in Apple Mail?

    Hi all.

I use Apple Mail to download my Gmail via IMAP (Apple Mail 9.3, OSX 10.11.5).

The problem is that my Gmail account is complete. To free up space in Gmail, I want to delete messages from Gmail, but keep them locally in Apple Mail. How can I do? I guess it's the server settings, but I don't know if I need to tinker with the Apple Mail, Gmail server settings, or both.

I tried to delete the messages in Gmail, but Apple Mail sync with Gmail and delete them locally, too.

    Thank you!

Activate the sidebar of accounts, so you can see the hierarchy of depot.

You should see a section here which says on my Mac. Click to show it, then right click to add box to the letters it. Call it something like old Gmail 2008-2014. Now you can select your old Gmails mainly Gmail Inbox and sent boxes and drag them to this mailbox on my Mac (folder). If you move hundreds or thousands of emails, here could be a delay before they appear in the new location, so don't panic.

Note: Many users choose simply to archive old emails, but do in Gmail, still continues to them on the server, if you're not reduce used storage space.

  • Why thunderbird changed the way it uses the passwords of gmail accounts?

I had put Tbird in place to always ask for a password for each account. That's always good. I could get into my gmail accounts by entering a password every time. My passwords on Tbird have not been registered. A couple of days, I had to reinstall Tbird after a computer problem. I logged into my gmail account and said not to save the password. When I logged on today it cowardly to remember passwords. I deleted them. When it tried to access accounts instead of simply ask a password he has known a rigmarole of 'connection via the gmail account' and I had confirm that Tbird is allowed to access gmail. An extra step every time, boring, but not terminal. BUT Tbird and then SAVES PASSWORDS, leaving my email accounts exposed, it's much more serious. I tried to remove the passwords, but then we went through the whole process and he did save yet. I don't want to add one master password (yet another thing to forget). I don't want Tbird automatically connect to each account every time that I load it. I DON'T want to control what he reads, and when he reads. What can I do to return to the configuration of the old?

Since the version of Thunderbird 38 uses OAuth2 for authentication of Gmail accounts. It is the only way to be considered "safe" by Google.
    http://TechCrunch.com/2012/09/17/Google-OAuth-2-0-for-Gmail-and-talk/

Basically, you authenticate with your Gmail account, once, and Google provides you with an authentication token. That's what Thunderbird records under "password". It is not your Gmail password. The token will expire at some point, you will need to again in the future.

If you want to revert to the old behavior allows Google you jump through some hoops.
You must allow 'less safe apps' in Google, or turn your settings on 2 stages of authentication in the context of a specific application password.

In Thunderbird, account settings change "authentication type" "normal password" for your Gmail account.

  • I can't send them to my main email account

What is the domain from which you send the email of validation of account? It is * very * useful to have this available.

I tried for weeks to get my main e-mail address confirmed: paul
    to
    kinzelman.com
It worked immediately to my secondary gmail account.

I worked with my ISP domain man and it is combed through the logs and it gets no email related to the validation of firefox at the time where I request another confirmation.

If you use amazonses.com I checked it and there is no black list on my email.

    Suggestions?

    My guy to join her.

The good news, it seems that the problem was inside its server, an additional anti spam filter.

The interesting news is that confirmations are sent NOT from mozilla.org , but of amazonses.com
It would be good to put that in as a word somewhere to tell what is the field that is used to send the confirmation email.

Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Password not recognized for the new Gmail account

My gmail account ID / password is not recognized by Thunderbird. It worked, but somehow it has suddenly stopped working (not able to receive or send emails and just make an hourglass whenever I select any folder in the account).

    Some other details:

. I use Thunderbird 38 (could the upgrade caused the problem?).
. I tried to remove and re-add the account. It connects fine, but does not recognize the username/password.
. I did some Google 2-step of checking is turned off.
. I deleted the Google Contacts.
. I checked that access for less secure applications is disabled in Google (even though I believe that Thunderbird 38 should not require this).

I followed all the steps I find Google search, including the https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmailsite. Nothing seems to help.

I'm up a Creek. I like Thunderbird (use it for multiple e-mail accounts), but hair pulling try that it works - and it takes too long. Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

    ENTRANTS: account15, (imap) imap.googlemail.com:993, SSL, OAuth2

You will need to set OAuth2 authentication for the SMTP server as well.

  • How can I stop Firefox by logging into my gmail account whenever I go to the Google search page?

I set Google as my homepage, so whenever I start FF it connects to one of my Gmail accounts. Always the least used too.
I would prefer not to do that and hope that there is a solution.

Make sure that the box remember connect you on the page Gmail is not a tick.

After digging around a few others, I finally managed to find the google site:

    https://support.Google.com/accounts/answer/6009563

There is a link on the bottom, saying: "allow access". Click on this one, 'continue' and directly there after prompt to synchronize Thunderbird. That solved the problem.

Synchronize Thunderbird now until my two accounts again.

Thanks for all the help and all the world looking in there, I hope this helps the other 3 who clicked on they have the same problem.

PS: In your web browser, you must be connected to the Google account with disorders!

  • Thunderbird cannot find a Gmail account despite being able to do previously (replacing the account are an attempt to troubleshooting)

Hi, I have correctly set up two Gmail accounts in Thunderbird and send me and receive messages for a while. Suddenly, I was unable to send or receive. My account settings are correct (they are exactly as they were when I properly set up the accounts). I am able to access my incoming emails and send emails via the new webmail. I deliberately deleted one of the accounts and attempted to set up again but Thunderbird now can't find the details of the account, although it is able to find them before. I'm really confused now and many would appreciate help from someone that I have no idea what to do to solve this problem!
    Thank you.
    Kind regards
    Nick Chown

Later: (1) I have now deleted my two accounts and tried their replacement. I have the correct Gmail details (password etc.). All I get is a message from Thunderbird by saying "sorry - we are unable to communicate with our server subscription. Please check your connection. "There is no problem with the connection.

    (2) I only changed from Freeserve (now EA) by email to Gmail because of the difficulties to send and receive messages from Freeserve with Thunderbird; like Gmail accounts worked I had assumed Freeserve was the problem but not sure now that the lightning seems to have hit twice now Gmail does not work.

Matt thanks for the very quick response. I worked on this problem in the early hours of this morning. It turned out to be a problem with my firewall. I solved it by turning off the firewall temporarily while I got the email client to communicate with its server that got the email client correctly configured. It sends and receives messages as it should despite the firewall having been turned back on (as soon as I could). Apparently, it is possible to have an 'exception' to a firewall. I am told that the e-mail software must contact the server every two weeks (I thought he was doing this all the time its use in!) and I should throw an exception.

Anyway, thanks again for taking the time and trouble to answer.

  • How to remove records 'system' on every gmail account?

I understand these system folders, I am referring to what may be called local folders. For example, "Inbox". In particular, I am willing to remove the "Sent" folders I have several accounts gmail and Thunderbird, some act differently from others. Each gmail account fills a "[Gmail]" folder with several subfolders constantly. I assume these are remote folders on the gmail server. I can remove all the people, but do not want to. Some of my Gmail accounts in addition to the mandatory "Inbox" folder have a file "Sent" without no right-click option delete and some do not have the "Sent" folder at all. I don't want the "Sent" folder to show on each of them, as it is already featured in my subfolders "[Gmail]". I just don't have ready access to the folder "Sent" system and won't watch it. How can I get rid of him?

    Folder - subscribe

Uncheck the files you don't want to see in Thunderbird.

Press Alt or F10, where the menu bar is hidden.

  • Firefox cannot sign out of hotmail, yahoo and gmail account

When you want to log out after you're done working on your yahoo, hotmail and gmail account, it is not possible to close the session. I had been facing this problem for three days now.

This problem may be caused by corrupted cookies.

Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Tools > Options > advanced > network > storage (Cache) offline: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

If clearing cookies doesn't help, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite - journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Firefox profile folder where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.
