  One way would be to place a JavaScript in the output of TextFieldA event:

  However this fires when the user leaves TextFieldA. You may need extra script if it is likely that the user is not yet in this text field.

• How do fill you a text field based on the entries in other text fields?

  I would like to be able to have a text field that fills as 'Full' or 'Incomplete' based on the question if all required fields have been filled or not.

  For example, if the "First Name", "Last Name" and "City" text fields are not filled, the text of "the State of completion" field displays 'Incomplete' and once they are filled, the text of "the State of completion" field will turn into "Complete".

  How can I do this using javascript? I searched the web for a tutorial, but most of the results seems to be focused on the menu drop-down.

  I have 3 domains Tools_1a_pri, Tools_1a_pri_other, Tools_1a_pri_txt.

  Tools_1a_pri is a drop-down list box with a predefined list. One of the options is the 'other '.  If 'Other' is selected, the text Tools_1a_pri_other field becomes visible for users to enter the name of the other tool.

  The Tools_1a_pri_txt is a text field with a calculation that shows a text indicating that no tool has been selected or the Tools_1a_pri & or Tools_1a_pri_other.

  When I select one of the predefined tools, everything works.  When I choose the other, it seems that nothing has changed.  Must I click another field before.  It's confusing for the user.

  You have made the classic mistake of using the assignment operator in a statement instead of the comparison operator. Change this line:

  WARNING: Not a programmer JAVA/type. I usually Google things to death and try to learn from there. Create a form and have followed some other suggestions, but I'm in a dead end to the expansion of a field (text field) to allow users to enter information, and to print the full entry once submitted.

  I changed the form must be sent using the e-mail button to choose the recipients and as doc pdf. I want to keep it this way. I created the form and do not use a template. I just signed up and looking for the button attach doc, created in Livecycle Designer ES in the hope that someone could take a look. Could not find the button attach. If anyone can provide their e-mail address to take a look, it would be great.

  Niall, I've been reading your posts and actually I tried copy and paste in one of your fields (re: subform as a debit, etc.) but so far no luck.

  I selected all the usual variables for the subform/text box:

  Allow multiple lines, allows breaks, will develop to adapt (height).

  Users return data can still submit a PDF from a dynamic XML form. It is always a PDF, it's just that description indicates that the form will enable dynamic behavior.

  There are other issues to consider. Knowledge that users interact with the form - Acrobat or Reader? Then you'll be reader allowing the form before deploy you? Finally, if you allow the shape, you use Acrobat or LC Reader Extensions ES2 to enforce the rights of the reader?

  I am creating a form, where the main text field Pounces on the next page (that I go to do). I created two master pages, the first page and the page of continuation. I want the field of main text to expand on the continuation page, while preserving the footer of the main page and the header/footer of the continuation pages. On the continuation page, I have a field name at the top of the page, I want to whether the value of the same text box of the home page, how to achieve this.

  The layout must remain what it 'looks like' on both master pages, I want to just be written in the main area on the first page to continue in the main area of the second page of the text. I want the second page to reproduce as many times as necessary to adapt the text.

  For 1 issue, you can simply set the binding of this field worldwide and all fields will have the same value. Click on the object and in the object palette, there is a tab link. In the set default binding change None to Global.

  For the 2nd problem, you have a Pg1 field called numberOfPages. This field is used in conjunction with another domain on the master Page2. He shodul not be located on this page. I removed it, then I was able to resize the titleForm subform to fit the space.

  I have a dropdown menu with 4 choices of priority for maintenance.  With a javascript script, I need to be able to select a 'priority' in a list box and a text box border then color with an appropriate color.

  'High priority' with an export value of 0

  "Medium priority" with a value of exports of 1

  'Low priority' of an export value of 2

  "When the time allowed" with a value of exports of 3

  When one of these selections has been filed, a text box becomes available in order to write the gap. My goal is as follows.

  When "High priority" is selected, the border of the text box where you write the gap would blush.

  When "Moderately urgent" is checked, the border around the text box where you write the gap would turn yellow.

  When "Low Priority" is checked, the border of the text box where you write the gap would become green.

  Only in Acrobat. Tools > forms > change. Double-click the text field to change its appearance.

  I use the UIScrollBar on a dynamic text field. I would like to make the scroll bar is not visible or turn it off if there are no more rows to display when initially displayed.   You can use the textfields maxscroll property to determine if a textfield can display all its text without scrolling.

  I'm hit a roadblock here. I'm on Adobe Acrobat XI and here's the scenario: I have a list box and a text box.

  Drop-down menu field has 3 caps (A, B, C).

  If A is selected, the text box = 15 default, but has the ability to change in the text box.

  If B or C is selected, the text box = 0 or "by default, but it has the ability to change in the text box.

  If I use an if/then with a .value, I'll be able to get the numbers to work, but do not have the ability to edit and keep them there. If I enter another number in another area, the JavaScript code will run and change the text box to 0 or 15.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Instead to use script logic for the text field, use the drop-down validation script. In this way, that it only will be triggered when you change the value in the drop-down list field, not when you change any field in the file (as the calculation script).

  I'm a JavaScript novice writer and need help a warning window that meets the programming user selection form a menu drop-down.

  If the user selects any option except the default choice (which is just an empty space), I want an alert is displayed.  If the user is moving through this area without changing the default value, nothing should happen.

  The problem is, it does not take the value that the user selects in the drop-down list and the text field. It takes the default value as "January" and the year is '2013' as these two values are given as selectedIndex:0 and editContents: "2013". I compared the coding with a few other scripts work as well, but it does not work. I added several alert boxes to check the value we get.

  In addition, search for it and change also does not work. Please help me on this. Thank you.
