DSC-RX100 1080 50 p vs 60 p

I live in the USA and bought a DSC-RX100 by a third-party seller on Amazon. After using my camera for a few days, I realized that the model I received can AVCHD 50 p. I think that it is the European model as the site of Sony USA and all other stores (including Amazon descriptionLorsque I bought) announce the model 60 p. My question is what is the impact of having the 50 p model vs the US 60 p. I understand that it is the image per second but want to know wheter p LCD display can accept both formats in the USA. It seems to work fine on my computer with Windows 7. I'm just worried, that you will thus limit the compatibility of my native files if I want to burn DVDs or Blue-Ray for US model material.

The camcorder with PAL color signal format 1080/50 p records.
To view the films made using this device on a TV, the camera and television must use the same color television system. Sony TVs sold only to support US NTSC color system.
If you use a third-party TV, please refer to the specifications of the TV to find out if it supports NTSC and PAL color system.

    Thank you very much.

    The DSC-RX100 was first supported in camera Raw 7.2 which is only compatible with CS6 and Cloud versions.

    You will never be able to open the RX100 in CS5 Raw files, even when you install Camera Raw 6.7 update successfully.

    You have two options:

    1. Join the cloud, or
    2. Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert batch all RX100 Raw files to DNG format, and then change the DNG files in CS5. An extra step for you, but no extra costs.

  • My DSC-RX100 does not illuminate.

    The on/off switch lights up green, but the screen remains blank. I can't turn off or the other, the green light only turns off when the battery is removed. I changed the batteries and connected to a charger, but it will not activate. Just before this happened the camera showed one cannot read the SD card error message, I tried two cards of Sony, but the error remained until it would not turn...

    Got exactly the same problem on my rx100 m2. Camera does not illuminate as usual. Black screen with the lens. Constantly green flashing power button / stop. Lens will not come to the market button / stop. Plug battery and put it back to + pressing power button triggers lens retract in the camera and back out immediately.
    Hope someone has a solution for this.

  • Suggestion of change of function flash DSC-RX100

    Many of us use the RX100 for underwater photography with some of the excellent dwellings on the market today. We need to use the camera flash to trigger our strobes submarine. It would be very useful if there was an option to set the power of the Flash at a low level so that it could be used to trigger the flash but do not use so much power. Other competitors, such as Olympus, had this feature on their models of point and shoot and four thirds. I'm sure that it would be useful to photographers with other strobe systems.

    Hello Gomez,

    You can use the Compensation of the Flash option in the camera to increases and decreases the amount of light flash flash.

    Information about the configuration of Flash comp. are mentioned on the page below:

  • Save pop color parameter in MR sony dsc rx100

    Hi - I like the Pop color setting on Auto mode of the camera - but must select every time I turn it on. How to save these settings in a location of memory I can put in MR mode - or you can also reproduce the parameters of that this mode uses to save to a location of MR? Thank you

    Robin

    Cannot save the image color Pop and intelligent automation effect / Superior Auto mode of memory recall (MR). I would recommend that you enable the color Pop in automatic program (P) mode setting and save it later. Please, try the following steps:

    1. Set the dial mode in P mode;
    2. Press MENU;
    3. Go to 3;
    4. Scroll to [photo effect] and select [Pop Color];
    5. Go to 5;
    6. [Memory] scroll down and select the desired number by pressing the left and to the right;
    7. Press the Center button to save the settings.

    Once done, you just set the dial mode on MR, then select the number assign you workload.

  • Firmware for the rx100 allow 24 p

    Hello

    Really interested in this camera and the video quality looks amazing, but there will be a firmware to enable 24 p while shooting?

    Thank you

    Hello Bob,

    Welcome to the community of Sony.

    We cannot speculate on the future updates or if a product will be features in the future that it currently does not have. We do answer questions on drivers, products and assistance with products that have already been made public and cannot provide a response to future events, or we can provide a guess when or if the firmware updates will be executed for a particular product.

    The camera Sony DSC-RX100 is compatible with 1080 60 p or 50 p format movies. Unlike most compact cameras, the DSC-RX100 records high definition videos using a progressive approach instead of interleaving method. This increases the resolution and provides a smoother, more realistic image.

  • Video quality: sony Camcorder HDR-CX240E or sony camera RX100?

    I bought HDR-CX240E, to my eyes inexperienced video seems good quality but autofocus makes constant strong trigger clearly audible in the video playback there. Am disappointed because otherwise it's great.

    Also need digital camera. Would the RX100 (the original version which is reduced in price) as good as the HDR-CX240E video production? And the autofocus is less noisy?

    Is there a real difference between a dedicated camcorder and a camera that takes video?

    Thank you

    Hi langdale! A camcorder, the HDR-CX240E has not one sound sound autofocus when recording. You can check in a service center.

    The DSC-RX100 and HDR-CX240E uses the same format AVCHD and MP4 video. They have great video capabilities and can be used interchangeably. The biggest difference between a camcorder and a camera (with video) is probably the setting dedicated to movies. You can see the absence of controls or settings for video on a camera. It's because she has made especially for shooting photos again. It is always best to use a camcorder for recording video intensive.

  • Support for files ARW [how to open the Raw files of the Sony RX100 IV in items 10 or 14?]

    I just purchased the Sony DSC - RX100 IV PSE 14 handles this type of file or do I have Raw Converter... I currently have 10 PSE.

    You have two options:

    1. Upgrade to 14 items and edit Raw photos, or
    2. Download the free Adobe DNG converter, batch convert Raw RX100 plans IV to DNG, and then change the DNG files in 10 items. An extra step for you, but no extra costs.

  • DSC-rx100m3 lightroom raw 4.4

    4.4 Lightroom can support of a Sony DSC-RX100M3 raw files?

    Hello

    No, you need at least v5.5 Lightroom to support the Sony DSC - RX100 M3 or you can use the DNG Converter, which can be downloaded from Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Macintosh: Adobe DNG Converter 8.5 , to create the DNG files that can be played from the existing ARW files.

    Note, however, that there is a correction for the DSC-RX100 M3 RAW conversions in the current RC of RTAs (8,6) that corrects problems with conversions to ISO125 and adds also the additional camera profiles.

  • Sony RX100 II not recognized by LR with DNG 8.2

    Hello. I just bought a Sony RX100 II. I have LR 4.4 and downloaded and installed DNG Converter 8.2.0.94.  This version supports the Sony RX100 II.   I checked.

    4.4 LR will not open the Sony. ARW files. In the import window, it displays the message "Preview not available for this file" on every file. When he imported from the States in the import results window "the following files have been not recognized by management of raw in Lightroom.

    I have run the DNG Converter se application and used to directly open and convert these Sony RX100 II. ARW in DNG files. I then imported the DNG files in LR, and they opened the good, which is what you expect.

    So my problem is that LR 4.4 with DNG 8.2 will not open these files or impoirt them, even if the DNG application not this agreement.

    It almost seems that LR does not use the latest version of DNG that I downloaded. He is currently in the application directory on my iMac.

    If anyone has any ideas I would be very appreciate.

    4.4 LR cannot read the Sony DSC-RX100 II RAW files, but you can use the v8.2 DNG Converter to convert these files into DNG files supported which can then be imported into Lightroom.

    The conversion to DNG is a separate process carried out by the DNG Converter and it cannot be done within Lightroom. If you want direct support for DSC-RX100 II of RAW files, you will need to switch to Lightroom 5.2

  • My new Sony Cyber-Shot DSC RX100II and how to use it

    Hello - new here and quite overwhelmed with this beautiful camera I bidded on and won... and do not know how to use.  I used point and shoot camera cyber-shot in the past and understand the camera and the conditions of very basic photography.  For example: I know that when I want the best shot on my ebay for details product, I go to the macro.

    But this camera so much, I don't know where to start.  I am looking for the instructions online for the * thing and can't even find that.  I spent time on the internet looking for instruction but have not yet found.  I found an app on my Kindle HDX, which seems to be a good and will spend some time, but if anyone knows a good educational site for this particular unit who speaks English and not of photo-ese, I would be VERY grateful.  (and Yes, I know that I need to learn the photo-ese as well).

    See this link to download the user manual and User Guide:

    I recommend you get a book titled "The photographer for the Sony DSC - RX100 II Guide", written by Alexander S. White.  It's a great book giving each bit of the camera which will help you in your learning.

  • Best camera for slow motion under $400?

    OK, first off I don't know too much about the cameras. I take lots of videos for editing with After Effects, and I also post videos on YouTube a lot. Right now, I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-WX9 1080 p 60i footage shot and 16MP. However, I am looking to upgrade to something that draws the best slow motion video. The two important things I want is clear 60 FPS + video and fast image speed. If possible, it should be less than $400. I've been to the GoPro HD3, but it is a bit high in my price range (in addition, it works well for taking pictures...).

    Does anyone have recommendations?

    Thank you!

    399 black GoPro Hero3 is an amazing camera for a point and shoot. Takes snapshots at high speed and takes very good stills and the time. If you want all around the camcorder that will slow down the MB and you can live with one correction lens wide angle, you can't beat the GoPro right now. I have one and it is totally amazing.
