Lightroom crop

I just bought the camera Sony DSC-RX100.  I do a lot of landscapes.  Lightroom zoom and crop without distorting the image, or change the proportion?

Ron James,

I hope that the suggestion below would solve the request you have.

  • Bug - photoshop and Lightroom crop tool

When I use crop tool, it does not work as it should. The harvest is done before I choose. the grid I chose does not appear. level tool work does not correctly. I can get the harvest but I have to start over many times.

In CC, you can choose the old method from the options bar, if you prefer, by clicking on the icon of parameters (the cogwheel symbol) and choosing the classic mode.

Did you press return/enter after you select the crop tool.

  • Camera Raw 8 the same choice of cultures like in Lightroom and Photoshop?

Seriously, how it would be difficult to give Camera Raw 8 the same crop choice being in Lightroom and Photoshop (for example, Fibonacci, Triangle, diagonal, etc.)? This disparity in the features is inexcusable and embarrassing. Surely, the teams to communicate?

    Curt,

I agree with you, but alas, this is NOT the case!
Select the CROP tool. Click and hold down to activate 'See the overlay.'

In the CROP tool dedicated to the Photoshop application, there are options.

In the dedicated LightRoom crop tool, there are options.

In Camera RAW (of ANY vintage), there is ONLY the rule of thirds (which appears by default when you select Show overlay and not by name or by choice).

  • Failure of harvest proportions Lock

Lock proportions Lightroom crop don't remember the last setting. Each time it is unlocked. Boring. Is this a bug in the new version? or y at - it a new way of defining the default state?

interesting, I think I found the answer on my own

If you press 'r' for culture, 'a' to toggle the locking of the report l / h, then ENTER to apply harvest LR not to remember the aspects-ratio adjustment lock.

You can force him to memorize by pressing 'r', activation/deactivation by 'a', then hit "r" again to close the crop tool.

apparently ENTER fails to apply the crop and SAVE the new default state (locked / unlocked)

  • Culture while maintaining the size of the pixel

I just LR5 - here it was as intuitive as PES.  A few initial questions:

    (1) when I crop in LR, I see no way to maintain the original pixel size, as this is easily done in PSE.  Is it not possible?

    (2) when I select 'Help' or press F1 in LR, LR assistance, however the search function does not list LR as one of the selections in the drop-down list box.  I have sign up LR.

    (3) when you perform an adjustment in LR, isn't there a way to cancel it?  I thought you would be able to remove it from the history.

    (4) what is the best free source for LR video learning preference.  I saw those of J. Kost on Adobe TV, but they were not very detailed/complete.

    Thank you.

    1. If I understand you correctly, yes it is possible, however there are several steps in Lightroom. As well, in Lightroom, crop the desired proportions, then when you export the photo, choose the desired number of pixels in the export dialog box (although personally, I wouldn't bother changing the size in the export dialog without a good reason, I don't do by default)
    2. I don't know, but I'll still using Lightroom at http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/lightroom_reference.pdf
    3. You can cancel it immediately with the Undo (Ctrl/Cmd + Z). At a later time, you can cancel it by moving the slider to zero, or by double-clicking the name of the cursor (for example, if you set the exposure back to zero, double-click the word exhibition)
    4. I don't know what is 'best', but I enjoyed the two Julianne Kost and other videos on http://tv.adobe.com/product/lightroom/
  • Resize Photoshop actions for blogs

I found this really useful, set of actions to make quick resize with watermark using Photoshop actions. You can always do a lot inside photoshop.

That's sweet, but rather useless in a forum for Lightroom. cropping, tattoo and downloading of articles quite well managed, in batches, too.

  • Cropping in Lightroom presets bug

My client wants me to crop their images to 2600 x 2000 pixels. When I try to define this relationship like Lightroom preset cropping it will not allow him. Instead it by default 8.5 x 11, which translates processed 2600 x 2009 pixel, image sizes or 2588 x 2000 pixels.

This vagueness cropping is very annoying because I have to spend time re-crop my images processed using a Photoshop action to the specifications requested my client.

This bug occurs also with many other cropping ratios if they are close (but not the same) as the existing Lightroom presets of harvest. You can solve this problem? I think it is a serious failure that Lightroom CAN create images at certain specified dimensions.

  • Problems with the function of the crop in Lightroom 6?

Hello; I use Lightroom 6 on a PC with a compatible GPU. I can't get the crop tool to operate; by using the drop-down menu 'tools', or on the icon of the culture in the module 'development '.  After you have selected or other crop choices and after having checked the selection "grid", I get no response in the image that indicates that the tool works.  When I click on a selection and try using the cursor, the image increases or decreases without cropping.  When I watch videos on how to reframe, I scrupulously the instructions; still can not crop!  What the heck is the problem?

    Hi MrKodee,

Please, try the following steps to solve the problem.

Try resetting the preferences of Lightroom.

Press the option for Mac and shift + Alt + Shift keys of Windows immediately after you restart Lightroom and select Preferences reset in the dialog box.

If the steps above did not help, then try to disable the graphic processor of Lightroom preferences.

    Open Lightroom

Go to Lightroom preferences in the Edit menu

    Click the performance tab

    Deselect the graphics processor

    Restart Lightroom.

Let us know if that helps.

  • In Lightroom, how you specify crop and resoiultion?

I'm relatively new to Lightroom.  Am a photographer of football.  I used standard PhotoShop 10 years.  With it, using the navigation bar, I could easily specify an exact cropped to the image size (for example, 5 x 7 ", 8 x 10") AND resolution (for example, 300 dpi).  I know how to crop in Lightroom, but not in a specific size and know not how to specify my desired resolution.  Thanks for any help!  JG

    Hi Johng,

Lightroom allows you to crop according to the aspect ratio, but not of a specific size.

I tried to purge the caches, to remove previews, enabled/disabled the GPU on and outside, my insights into the dimensions in pixels, of downsizing disabled wireless (and CC app), switched we / off external display (an old Eizo) - even an uninstall complete and reinstall. Yet the cropping function is near UNUSABLE.

If the problem goes away when you run the system at boot, it means that there is another application that runs in the background that is gobbling up system resources that Lightroom requires to work properly.

Here is information on what is happening with your system when you start start-up: try safe mode if your Mac does not commissioning - Apple support in the list of the things that happens with Safe Boot, here are the two who most likely apply to the situation at hand:

    • Loads needed kernel extensions only
    • Prevents elements start and the login items open automatically

First, disable all applications that are running in the background as it was a startup item or element of connection. Take control of start-up and connection elements. Macworld
