  • Acer Aspire V 11 Touch - Vista drivers dual boot and need

HI - anyone know where I can get drivers Windows Vista 32 bit for the WLAN on the Acer Aspire V 11 Touch? Can dual-boot the software but cannot connect to the internet on Vista.

    Thank you very much.

OK, time to abandon it. Pretty disappointed that, although I can find dualboot the correct drivers (graphics card and wlan) is almost impossible. People always want to dual boot and indeed that's being hit on the head - I can understand why (from the marketing point of view) but it will hurt only M$ in the long term.

If I bought a useful software a few years ago, and he still has the usefulness for me today, so I should be able to run it on my 'modern' computer without needing to downshift the material, which is actually what I need to do.

W8 is true new beginning and W10 will be an improvement, but M$ must:

    1. make virtual machines available for free - currently available (no M$) virtual machines are very limited.

    2. recognize that many users still want to run programs, they ran using XP.

Rant on, and M$, this is a client that is located close to the abandonment of your software.

So, I have some questions about this.

    1. can you my OS in the Virtual Machine boot VM outside?

    2. If the answer is Yes: how to disable the startup outside of the virtual machine?

    3. If starts outside, can choose the operating system on the host computer?

    Please answer quickly.

    Thanks in advance.

1 Yes - if you have used a physical disk during the installation of the guest

  • HP xw4600 workstation: setting up dual boot and BIOS storage options

I have a HP with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit xw4600 workstation. He resides in the SATA location 0.

I have a separate hard drive Linux Mint 17.1 installed. He resides in slot SATA 3.

I want to set up a dual-boot option to start Windows or Linux.

In the BIOS under storage... Storage options must be set to RAID or AHCI? (I don't want a backup RAID configuration. I have cloned my hard drive to another hard drive in the SATA 2 connector, the DVD burner is in the SATA 1 connector).

It seems that the computer will boot only from the hard drive to the SATA location 0.

If I disconnect the hard drive to the SATAS location 0 which has Windows 7, I get an error in the message of wiring.

If I use the boot F9 option, my choice is the hard drive, but I can't specify which.

I can't find anywhere to change the HDD boot order in the BIOS.

Any help will be apprecaited because I want to avoid opening the case and cables around switching.

The HP xw workstations want to start only on the capture of port 0 on the motherboard SATA (often a blue color, while the others are brown dark/black).  Here is a post on how we worked around the need to have more of a boot drive, down to the low point, the photo shows the receiver in place with a carrier on the inside, and 3 many carriers are here to see you, too.

This way you can have a single SATA cable go from that device to the SATA port 0 and boot from any operating system you like.  We now use only SSD for our startup discs, and the device fits perfectly into the floppy to the front of the box Bay area.  Do not stop going from one to the other SSDS.  I timed the move... 66 seconds to choose stop to W8.1 to get the Welcome screen W7 and vice versa on workstation xw4600 both xw6400/6600 (with BIOS optimized for faster startup).

Apparently, there's some expensive SATA switches that allow to move from one entry to another entry and have only 1 output to the SATA port 0, but this approach has been working great for about 2 years now for us.  New versions of this device accept SATA cable lock, but my cables without locking of Foxconn HP were now firmly as well.

There are similar devices for disks 3.5 "that HP had sold in the past.  Another advantage is that you can have two boot disks, both running on W7Pro, for example, and use the same certificate of authenticity.  One for the House stuff; one for the stuff of the company, for you home office people who want to keep things separate.

  • HP 15-AC053TX: 15-AC053TX of HP linux dual boot and RAM upgrade question

    Hello

I want to buy HP laptop computer 15-AC053TX for VMS running on the science of data/data. I have the following questions

    (1) will require computer support dual-boot Linux OS like Ubuntu and CentOS 64-bit?

    (2) can I upgrade RAM 16 GB? Can I pre-order with a configuration upgrade or should I upgrade later through Service to the HP customer care?

    All entries will be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bazelaire

It has 8 gigs in a single module, so all you have to do is add another module of 8 GB to 16. This particular model is a specific configuration and HP do not at this level off the coast of this issue of model, but you can order the same thing as a custom to order and get 16 gigs. If not upgrade memory isn't too hard on that one, and the upgrade, it'll be cheaper.

    See p. 46 here:

    Repair manuals

Manual specifications say it tops out at 8 gigs, but this has been proven incorrect and tackling the 16 concerts if you put two x 8 concert DDR3L-1600 modules.

Yes, you can dual boot a modern Linux distribution. Ubuntu 64 bit 15.04 and 15.10 will work off UEFI and Secure Boot for example and allow you to install right next to Windows 10 using the grub bootloader to choose your operating system at startup.

  • Install windows 7 in Envy DV7-7234 with Windows 8 with win7 dual boot and windows 8

I can install windows 7 in Envy DV7-7234 with Windows 8 buth with dual boot: win7 and windows 8?

Installing Windows 7 on your HP ENVY computer Notebook dv7-7234nr is not supported by HP. In addition, no Windows 7 driver is listed on HP Software and Driver Downloads page for your computer.

HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 and it will support the installation of Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not support some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

    You will need to DISABLE 'Secure Boot' and ENABLE 'Legacy Support' in the ' settings of BIOS ' settings below page;

Then, start Windows 8 and run the console 'disk management '. Using "Shrink Volume", reducing the size of the "C:" partition about half of its original size. Name of the partition "C:" to something like "Windows 8". Now, start the computer from the Windows 7 DVD, making sure to select "UEFI - internal CD/DVD" or "UEFI - ATAPI CD/DVD ' and not ' Legacy - CD/DVD internal."  (I recommend using a disc of Windows 7 SP1latest drivers have been included in this topic. The use of the SP1 disc usually resolves most disk hard AF and other issues. )

Install Windows 7 on the partition without label that was established earlier when you shrunk the partition "C:". Continue to install WIndows 7 by / responding to all the guests. Once you download Windows 7 on your computer, we have to track down the compatible drivers for it. Please list all the "hardware ID" for unknown or missing devices.

  • Error message "Access denied" on the sharing of files and folders on a dual-boot computer.

    I have a Dual Boot PC - the two Windows 7 Home Premium - one 32-bit, 64-bit.

If I try to access files created in the 32-bit system to the 64-bit system, I get "Access Denied" errors. This is extremely annoying as its my PC, my data, my everything!

The only way to solve the problem seems to be to give all permissions to "Everyone", but then I get my parcel Internet Security complain bitterly that my PC is now open to piracy because I gave "Everyone" full access permissions.

I searched the Web and Microsoft, but I never seem to find exactly what I'm looking for; part of my search text seems to have more weight than another. For example, I add "in the system to dual-boot" and I get links to creating a dual boot system.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to grant permissions to access 32-bit system folder to the main user on the 64 bit system, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you very much.

  • Windows Easy Transfer. Dual boot Windows XP 32 and 64-bit Windows 7

I am upgrading to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit of Windows XP 32-bit profressionelle. I was looking at using the "Windows Easy Transfer" application for transfer settings. I will install Windows 7 on a separate partition and Windows XP is my current operating system. I want to use the WET program, but it implies that I'm to be transferred from ONE computer to another (using the cable or a network). It's the same machine and only no OS will run at the same time. How would I be able to use WET in this situation of dual boot? I have not yet installed Windows 7 or WET. Thanks, BarJabba

Is the Windows 7 Professional a full license or upgrade? Please note that you will be unable to dual boot using a license to upgrade because it requires that you have previous eligible license installed on the partition.

If it is a license full and that you plan to dual boot and want to transfer personal files and settings by using Windows Easy Transfer for Windows XP, you will need to do is select the option during the transfer Assistant Windows backup on an external storage device.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

  • Dual-Boot (multiboot)

I have a Dell Windows 7 Professional workstation. I want to keep Windows 7 as well as to install Windows 10 on my computer. I have enough space on my hard drive to another partition. I know that I can use the fret to create another partition, but I want to make sure after the reduction the C:\, how can I call the no allocated space is explained by the fret for example logical disk D:\.

My second question is that how do I install Microsoft Windows 10 upgrade on the new partition D:\ online and have a dual-boot Windows 7 and Windows 10? Thank you

You can't dual boot with the free update.

I want to dual boot instead of replace my current version of Windows.

If you need to install 10 Windows on a partition or separate hard disk, you will need to purchase a full license.

    Retail price of price information:

    Edition Price
    Windows 10 home US $119
    Windows Pro 10 US $199
Pro Windows 10 Pack US $99

  • Equium A300D - Parralled/Dual Boot OS

    Hello.

Yesterday I bought a laptop A300D and after setting up, I found her quite slow. For example, it will come with "Please wait" before show you the login screen when starting upwards. It takes at least just around 2-4minuets to allow you to open a session. After that, though. I found its a machine ok, but I was wondering if I could go back to Windows XP. I don't like vista, but I think it is perhaps one of the causes for its slowness. I think that also. When I start to install my own software ect it will get slower.

I've heard a lot of 'dual boot' and I was wondering if it was possible on this laptop. I have 3 hard drives in this laptop.

    Vista (c :)) F 117)
    WINRE (:)) 1.46 GB D
    Data (e :)) F 113)

What I read, I could use my data (e) for an operating system and (c) for the other. Although I'm not entirely sure how, or even if its possible to do it on this laptop. I mean. tell if it worked, and I got XP on a disk of the XP operating system would use the laptop as vista only? Two hearts, graphics ect.

I really have a small list of questions to ask if it's ok. I will list out them.

#1: is it possible to dual boot on a Toshiba A300D?
#2: is it possible to dual boot on separate hard drives?
#3: If so, how can I do to set up?
#4: are there special programs, I need to do?
#5: XP will use it has computers and hardware as well as vista?

I think it's the issues that I really want to this time. I'm still pretty new to computers. Thank you for reading, and if it is possible please let me know. . Once thank you once again.

    Mallues. =)

Although I am focused on the dual-boot, if there is a way to simply install XP without vista at all, that would be massively useful also. Thank you.

My computer came with Windows pre-installed 10 and without disks. During the process of installing Linux 17.3 Rosa "Mate" operating system I have inadvertently erased the disk hard don't drive so no Windows 10. I installed Linux and that's all working well. The system is a wired LAN setup.

The only piece of software that I downloaded from Epson is a printer driver.

    Hello

The msata isn't RAID at all in the traditional sense of the term.  The connotation of RAID is when the SATA controller is set to RAID to enable a feature for the msata.  There are a lot of misconceptions about the functioning of msata. It's more of a headache, then it is good IMO.
