DUPLICATE DATABASE to the < newserversid > TARGETS

I want to just delete my concepts, when we duplicate db on the remote host.

1-backup should be moved to remote host is needed?
2. we run rman TARGET sys/manager@source sys/manager@Newsid AUXILIARY while we are on the auxiliary db Server?

The docs explain the process (How Recovery Manager duplicates data). As indicated in the posted link above Re: RMAN-04005: target database error: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges, the process can be run from nodes.

    If you do not specify an UNTIL clause, it attempts to RECOVER up to the most recent ArchiveLog generated by the Production database (target). He knows because he connects to the target instance as well. (10 g, you will need to connect to the target).
    DUPLICATE a DATABASE error during RECOVERY if the last archivelog has not been copied to the standby server.
    Therefore, it would be good to be
    a. copy the archivelogs from production to the waiting
    OR
    b. specify an UNTIL clause

  • Problems with duplicate DATA when the data file was added after the backup completes

    Hello

    I am facing a problem when running of duplicate database with the command of database duplicate RMAN on a 10 g database. If I have the duplication from a full backup that is missing a data file that has been added to the database after the full backup of preforms, I get the following error message:
    Starting restore at 10-10-2009 18:00:38

    RMAN-06100: no channel to restore a backup or copy of datafile 43
    Redo log which was Pond at the time of the creation of 43 of the data file is also available in the backups. It seems that RMAN cannot use the log information archived redo to restore the content of the data file 43. I guess that because failure is already reported in the RESTORATION and not in the RECOVERY phase, so again the archived logs are not available yet. I get the same message even if I do another backup of the data file 43 (so a backup that is not in the same backupset as the backup to all the other data files).
    The script, the command duplicate product, I guess that RMAN reads the contents of the source database controlfile and trying to get a backup that contains all the data files to restore the database Assistant - if such a backup is not found, it fails.

    Of course, if I try to perform a restore/recovery of the source database, it works without problem:
    RMAN> restore database;

    Starting restore at 13.10.09
    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
    channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=156 devtype=DISK

    creating datafile fno=43 name=F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SOMEDATAFILE01.DBF
    channel ORA_DISK_1: starting datafile backupset restore
    channel ORA_DISK_1: specifying datafile(s) to restore from backup set
    restoring datafile 00001 to F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SYSTEM01.DBF
    .....
    The 43 data file is re-created and then redo is applied to the course.

    So, does anyone know if the duplicate database can use archived redo logs to recreate the contents of a data file, as does a normal restore/recovery? If this is the case, then it is necessary to perform a full backup before each duplicated if a data file has been added after such a backup database.

    Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Kind regards
    Swear

    Hi swear,.

    I got exactly the same problem during replication.
    Because we backup archive logs every 6 hours with rman, I added an additional block of running this script.
    run
    {
    backup incremental level 0
    format "% d_ % s_ %%t p_ bk_ '.
    filesperset 4
    database not saved;
    }

    (I also hit a bug in the catalogue which was resolved by patching up the dbs catalog 11.1.0.6, 11.1.0.7 for.)

    This will restrict the data not making file not part of any backup rman 6 hours while jumping for which there is already a backup of data files.

    A number of things.

    (1) If you're going to go to a different version of oracle, then duplicate only is not supported.

    (2) assuming that the target and the auxiliary of the versions of database is the same, you don't need all your configure auxname, set the datafile newname and switch controls.

    Hello;

    In my view, that it is a bug that has to do with the compatibility of the compression.

    I think that work around is:

    alter system  set "_compression_compatibility"="11.2.0";

  • What / which method to use for the duplicate database

    Greetings, the Experts of Oracle

    I'm trying to replicate a database (src) of production to another machine (dest) for developers to do some tests before applying the changes to the production environment. The src and dest running Oracle 10 g 2 RHEL 4, 5.

    Due to the firewall in our environment policy, may that src and dest will not be able to see each other on the network. Also the directory structure will be different on src and dest.

    Now, there seems to be several methods available to achieve this:
    1. duplicate with RMAN, something like:
    rman TARGET sys/password@src NOCATALOG AUXILIARY sys/password@dest
    DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO dest NOFILENAMECHECK;
    2. backup/restore with RMAN.
    3 use the Import and Export (including impdp/expdp) utilities.

    From my research so far, option 1 seems to be the method for this purpose. He also manages the directory structure difference quite well. However, it requires connection to src and dest simultaneously during replication. Is there a way it could be done from a backup image instead of a connection to the database of the CBC? Other 2 options are possible? Are there any other ways I could duplicate the database given the situation?

    Appreciate your help.

    If the CBC and destination cannot access another, then the simplest option will be #2 (restore a database to a new host: scenario) who also address the different directory structure.

  • Do we need the intermediate database if a single execution in real-time duplicate controls with the connector for Siebel Disqualification?

    Still confused:

    Do we need a staging database? We want only to perform real-time duplicate checks.

    Documentation (Guide to integration of Siebel, Oracle® Enterprise Data quality customer Data Service Pack, Version 9.0, April 2013) is not quite clear about this:

    "The staging database is used by the Siebel connector as a staging area for the transfer of data between Siebel and Disqualification when running batch through Data Quality Manager of Siebel." (p. 19)

    "The interface in real time of the Disqualification is also used for the batch cleaning tasks (normalization): Siebel sends each record selected for treatment to the Disqualification by batch cleaning web services." (p. 6)

    «Double the lot identification and quality of data health check jobs (either full or incremental batch) use interface batch Disqualification.» In this case, the candidate registers for correspondence or health checkups are written to the database shared staging, Disqualification executes a batch on these records and - if pairing - rewritten matches, Siebel picks up and uses to link together the records. "(p. 6)

    However, for a design it is necessary to plan in advance, if a database is required or not.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

    The staging database is used only for temporary storage where the interface between Siebel and Disqualification batch is used. It is not necessary at all if only using the interface in real time. Note that some of the 'batch' in Siebel tasks actually use the interface in real time - this applies to all data in batch cleaning jobs in Siebel and also for the workflow "UCM lot" which is in fact orchestrated by calling web services Disqualification.

    In general, the batch interface is only used where Disqualification is attached to Siebel CRM (instead of UCM). Because DQ Siebel lots do not call survival (so that you can only link to potential duplicates together).

    Note that the tables key used for the selection of the candidates belong to the Siebel database in the form of standard tables (S_DQ_CON_KEY and S_DQ_ACC_KEY). They are not in the database shared staging. The staging database is used ONLY for the data transfer for treatment in batches. It seems that you are not intending to use this interface.

    Also note that Disqualification still needs its own repository database, but if you use only a Disqualification in real-time (and not, for example, by using a Disqualification to batch migrate data in Siebel using the interface of the EIM), it should probably not push the database this hard.

    Kind regards

  • EM12C - add repoitory database as the target of the database

    Hi all

    My apologies if this sounds like a stupid question.

    I just installed EM12C SGD and database repository on the same server (Linux x86_64). The installation is successful and I can access the control of cloud and see targets preconfigured (from the same host).

    However, I am not able to add the database reporitory as the target of the database. Should it? I remember in the 10g grid control, I was able to configure the database reporitory as a target database.

    12 c, I tried "Add manually targets" or "auto-discovery", but none of them show either the database repository or ist listener as target.

    Thanks in advance.

    p.s. I added also successfully 12 c as part of the installation of EM12c agent and the agent is running correctly on the host computer.

    You can use emcli add_target

  • Data synchronization after restoring the database to the Source or target

    Hi DBAs,

    I've implemented replication unidirectional flow at the level of transactional database to the database schema (excluding some tables). It works very well without any problems after doing the tuning of flow with the help of health check scripts. My question is if some reasons, if I have to recover to the level of the database on the database Source then I need rebuild flows from scratch? Database size is close to 2 TB and after recovery, even using the pump data at the same time, it could take hours and also the source won't be available even after the recovery (data pump running job - if the source is online, then I was getting ORA-01555 errors and work was not).

    Please notify by above circumstances what is the best way to re - synchronize data between the source and target.

    Thank you
    -Samar-

    I would export of the datadict (build) once again, just to avoid any MVDD, something to do directly after the restoration of the DB,.
    because I'm not sure from the perception of this restoration DB in terms of DBID. Have you checked in rman if source db is considered to be the epitome?

    Then restart what are the messages in the target error queues. I think that you will have problems to move the first_scn
    due to differences on some YVERT in source/target system.logmnr_restart_ckpt$. system will think it has holes.
    You may need to manually remove a bunch of lines to allow the flow to jump on the fate of the YVERT
    that have been sent and are not present in the source system.logmnr_restart_ckpt$

  • Can us refresh database using the recovery catalog?

    Hi all, I need update the dev of database using the prod database backup, we have TSM server and database of separate catalog for storing backups. No, my doubt is, we can update database dev using catalog, which has the backup of all info the prod

    In my previous organization, we used to copy the backup of the prod dev we restore and recover it in dev db. But in this organization, we have a TSM server that stores all backups of prod and dev.

    Please tell me we can update dev db using info catalogue simply and without copying backups of prod? If possible how?

    My question is that the connection to the rman is good or bad?

    It would depend on the content of the script you do not think that we need to see.

    In the end, you can determine whether this is good or bad by testing.

    Because the rman is not connected directly to the target db prod.

    Have you read the link I gave you?

    I would limit for you: a database mirroring

    The docs in detail how to duplicate a database

    1 - active database

    2 - from a backup WITH a connection target (the database prod)

    3. from a backup WITHOUT a connection target (the database prod) but WITH a recovery catalog connection

    4 - from a backup WITHOUT connection AND connection catalog recovery target (the database prod)

    BTW, why you score your own messages as 'useful' to your own problem?

    Must miss one or two steps but document metalink 382269.1 followed as closely as possible. Sorry for the lack of screenshots but databases are private networks. Someone who did that regularly offer any help?

    Thank you

    Since you have already made the backup and copied to the auxiliary server, why use again 'data base active'

    DUPLICATE THE TARGET DATABASE TO 'UTILAX' IN THE CURRENT DATABASE.

    Just try to DUPLICATE the DATABASE to 'UTILAX' TARGET nofilenamecheck;

    This would work out.

    or if you want to continue to make use of the active database functionality, then

    DUPLICATE TARGETS DATABASE to the 'UTILAX' of the active database nofilenamecheck.

  • Roll forward standby database with the incremental backup, when a data file is deleted in primary education

    Hello

    I'm nologging operations + deleting some files in the primary and you want to roll forward the day before using the incremental backup Yvert.

    I do in particular, as the files are dropped?

    I got to meet ( Doc ID 1531031.1 ) which explains how to roll forward when a data file is added.

    If I follow the same steps, to make the move to restore the data file newly added, will it work in my case?

    Can someone please clarify?

    Thank you

    San

    I was wondering if reocover noredo is performed before restored controlfile, oracle will apply the incremental backup error-free files, and in this case, what would be the status of the data file in the control file.

    Why do you consider to retrieve the day before first and then in the restaurant of the controlfile will lead to problems. Please read my first post on this thread - I had clearly mentioned that you would not face problems if you go with the method of deployment.

    Here is a demo for you with force logging is disabled. For the first time the day before resuming and restored then the controlfile ensures:

    Primary: oraprim

    Standby: orastb

    Tablespace DataFile of MYTS is removed on primary:

    SYS @ oraprim > select force_logging in the database of v$.

    FORCE_LOGGING

    ---------------------------------------

    NO.

    Currently the tablespace is to have 2 data files.

    SYS @ oraprim > select file_name in dba_data_files where nom_tablespace = 'MYTS;

    FILE_NAME

    -------------------------------------------------------

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/oraprim/myts01.dbf

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/oraprim/myts02.dbf

    In standby mode, the tablespace is to have 2 data files:

    SYS @ orastb > select name from v$ datafile where ts #= 6;

    NAME

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/orastb/myts01.dbf

    /U01/app/Oracle/oradata/orastb/myts02.dbf

    Postponement of the day before on the primary log shipping

    SYS @ oraprim > alter system set log_archive_dest_state_3 = delay;

    Modified system.

    Dropped 1 MYTS datafile on the primary.

    SYS @ oraprim > alter tablespace myts drop datafile ' / u01/app/oracle/oradata/oraprim/myts02.dbf';

    Tablespace altered.

    Removed some archives to create a space.
