dv4t-5100 (A9Q30AV): recovery of Win 7 Home Premimum OS dv4t-5100

I have 2 laptop computers HP (dv4t and Pavilion g6) that both have Win 7 Home Premimum 64-bit installed.  I used the Recovery Manager (rebecca.exe) on the g6 Pavillion to created a set of recovery disc for Paviliion G6 (finished with 5 DVDs).

CD 1 of the set of recovery disks should be bootable, that I can use to re - install the OS Win 7 on the g6 Pavillion (the disk set includes the OS Win 7 installation image and all the drivers required for the g6 Pavilion).

dv4t-1500, recently broke down, cannot restart under Win 7 normally.  Seems OS image corrupted (or some other problem).  I didn't create all of the recovery disc (3 DVD that includes the operating system install image more all dv4t device drivers).

Is it impossible to use the re g6 Pavillion recovery discs - install the OS Win7 image on my laptop dv4t (of course I have to correct the device drivers after the Win 7 OS is reinstalled). ?

Made the g6 Pavillion Recovery Disc set (5 DVDs) prevents me from using them to re - install Win 7 on my HP dv4t?  I have 2 different/unique product/license key Win 7 Home Premimum 64bits (sticker on the underside of each laptop).

Thank you

Hello

Yes, absolutely, you have all the right points, before moving on to another I rather suggest you test the HARD drive on the computer. You can check the below mentioned steps.

  • Switch off the appliance.
  • To turn back press the power button and as soon as you release, keep pressing the "ESC" key, unless a screen comes up, you might want to wait a minute while tapping the button.
  • In the start menu, choose F2 - System Diagnostics.
  • Under the component Test it would be HARD drive test (generally, it is recommended that you perform a Quick Test and extended).
  • After you choose the Quick Test, click on run once.

If it passes you can proceed with the trial extended, if he fails to give a call to customer support at the number mentioned below, to check the repair options, which should be covered by the guarantee, to check the status of security here is the link -

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/weInput?cc=us & lc = in.

If the Extended test passes so you can spend with the recovery process.

Although I work for HP, but I am personally.

    Nice day.

    There is no command link.

You must call (1-877-4-Lenovo) Support as has already been posted. They will confirm the model and serial number and should be able to advise you on your options. There may be a cost involved in the purchase of all recovery discs.

The control panel is not where you go to restore factory settings.  You should consult your computer user guide because the procedure is different for each computer brand and model.

    Hi FraTab2009,

May I ask why you n t use the Toshiba Recovery disk? This disc contains an image of the settings from the factory with all the drivers and tools. If use you this disk, your computer is ready to be used again and you don t have any problems with the installation of the driver. :)

  • How can I replace the corrupted Win 7 Home Premium on my G71 with Win 7 Pro?

The Win 7 Home Premium OS came with my Pavilion G71-340US laptop is damaged and must be reinstalled. Rather than reinstall Win 7 Home Premium, I want to install Win 7 Professional - I bought. I have Win 7 Home Premium recovery disks, when I came to the computer. The professional Win 7 I like an installation disk (.) ISO file).

What is the best way to do it? I can just do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro? If so, how to install the drivers for the laptop? I searched the knowledge base information, but could not find anything on a Win 7 reinstall / update. Thank you.

All of your drivers must be posted on your support page of models which can be found by clicking on the link titled 'Support' at the top of this page. You will need to "full" (not only G71) model number or product number as indicated on the attached at the bottom of the laptop Service tag, can be under the battery. You can also get the info by pressing the FN and ESC together.

To install Windows 7 Pro read the article here. Page 9-15 including explain removal of partitions for a new installation of Windows on:

  • I get error 0 x 24 in Win XP Home, after the system hung over the error checking.

The system is a HP/Compaq Presario SR1575CL running XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3. There is 2 GB of RAM and a 200 GB drive HARD Seagate SATA 1. I don't have a Win XP Home CD, because the BONE was preloaded on the HARD drive. HP put a section of 6 GB recovery (FAT) in the 1 Partition of the HARD drive. The 180 remaining in 2 GB (NTFS) Partition is for the OS and data. Partition 2 is expected to be the bootable partition. Recovery HP option brings back me to the configuration of the facility six years ago.

I was checking the HARD disk with the error checking feature. The program completed the first three steps of five. The system hung up on step 4.

The system enters a restart loop where I see the screen of the POST, the screen that allows me to choose an operating system (XP Home or Recovery Console), then the window a few seconds start screen. I tried the Recovery Console option and I get the error Mode recovery 0 x 24. I can't use any Safe Mode options, because they also cause a boot loop.

I'm unable to get a command line so that I can try the command fixmbr or fixboot.

I started with the Live CD Knoppix 6,7 and 12 LinuxMint and was able to see and access both partitions of the HARD disk. I was able to copy the contents of the Partition 2 to external USB HDD unsolved. I also made a copy of the MBR using DD.

I ran testdisk_6.13 which shows the parameters C/H/S are 24321/255/63, based on the HARD drive and 25841/240/63 for the NTFS. According to the Seagate, the C/H/S for this Barracuda HARD drive Web site is 16383/16/63, which doesn't have a size for the size of 200 GB. Phoenix Award BIOS shows 65535/16/255.

I want to fix/repair the HARD drive. Data and intact air applications. How recognizable HARD drive again?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It seems that the hard drive has failed. You will need to replace it as it is not really a way to fix them.

If you installed the Windows operating system without using the HP recovery media, then you will need to download and install all the drivers missing/software separately.

  • Lenovo G555 OKR Win 7 Home Premium

Ugh! I came here and saw there were 200 + pages of topics. I'm sorry if mine is already validated and has an answer, but I ask myself in a hospital bed need to use OKR and cannot understand it. I won't go through all the pages to see if my are answered so bear with me. I have no documentation with me (it's at home for obvious reasons). Recently, I have this computer and have not yet created backups "file of users. The only backup here is everything back to how it was if I had just bought it and was first put on brand new.

IF I ABSOLUTELY have TO, I could lose my bookmarks in firefox (or I could just the zip file and send them an email to me - I use Live Mail so I'm not worried about the deletion and lose my emails). But I wouldn't lose my documents, videos and what-not. My other software, I installed from the factory-fresh install when I bought the computer is not much and I can actually just go to some sites and reinstall things, No biggy.

What I prefer is to back up all my personal files, so I don't have to re-download anything and have it take 1 million years to reinstall everything. In 'My Computer', I saw the C: partition, the partition D: (Lenovo) who had the OKR related files and I guess that the secret files to reinstall the original image. I have Windows, the value do not hide what whatsoever from me. I also see a MS Office Starter 10 q score: who is protected, but didn't seem to do anything when you double-click it except give me an error message that I am not authorized to access. Then there's the DVD Burner F: and below, there is a "Norton Backup" type icon that looks like a hard drive, but when you double click on that, it shows just 3 icons more: 1) backups of the system by default C: partition, 2) the partition D: Lenovo backups and backups DVD Burner F:... By double clicking on anyone of them showed that the it is that anything backed up towards them.

If I close and press the OKR which looks like a symbol of u-Turn of orange color, it brings me to the OKR options screen but since I have no backups created by the user, the only option that it will really allow me to choose is exit and let Windows load just as it does now and continue to use the computer , or reset the computer to the original image and lose everything...

How the hell do a user-created backup image? I went to C:\Program Files\Lenovo\OneKey App\OneKey Recovery\Language\Enu\ and there was an overview of the OKR program, but nothing to really say how to create an image backup created by the user, the .htm files. Just that you are going to kick you if you create a return to the top of your data first and run the OKR to restore the original image. Not very useful. It would be nice if in fact, he crossed and detailed how the hell do!

I want to thank you all for your attempts to help me. I went to uninstall the existing installation of OKR and re - download the installation file, so I can install a new copy from the links provided in this thread. Unfortunately, I was with a WiFi very slow at the hospital I was staying in and after about 20-30 of 273 MB downloaded, it seems the download has completed. I finally got so fed up with it, I used a downloader that supports recovery and even in this case is the same trouble. Finally on download seventeenth attempt, I got it completely downloaded. Once again, since I'm on a slow connection, it took about 2-3 days with all these upheavals, but I got it. Then when I installed it, it's the same thing. GRR! Then, so I decided to save all my important files on a DVD and I just shut down the computer and supported the OKR button and allowed him to recover the original factory installed image. Now, Win 7 Home Premium desktop screen when you press the OKR, it gives you the options to create images of backup or restore backups I have created or install again the original factory image. It's a pain in the neck, but I got it working properly, finally. Yet once, I want to thank you all for trying to help, and you can now consider this topic resolved.

  • How can I uninstall/reinstall Win 7 Home

I can uninstall and reinstall Win 7 Home I'm having all kinds of problems, crashed, black screen, I have tried all the diagnostics. memory diagnostic will not end.  Thank you.

If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium:

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Samsung: Press the F4 key to the Samsung logo when you turn first.

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

If you have a retail copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on DVD:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

To learn how to change your BIOS options to boot from the DVD drive, the following tutorial:

    http://notebooks.com/2011/05/05/How-to-load-BIOS-and-change-boot-configuration/
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
