Hello

I got 2x512MB inside and it wasn't enough, so I bought 2 x 1 GB on sale at auction

My mistake. I trusted Crucial. Next time I'll check the first chipset model.

Your video card uses system RAM. So this question point corrupted Ram I think.

You check Ram with Memtest86 + or GoldMemory. Just burn it on CD *.iso file and run the test. You may need to change the boot sequence in the Bios (to get the BIOS press F10 boot).

Few things more. Where you update graphics driver before installing this new memory?

You can test how your laptop behave on old memory when you play this game?

Can you post here too CPU - Z screen?

What you bought is model CL6. CL5 is a better choice.

See here information on here for your MODEL and latency settings.

You wrote:

'I got 3GB of ram but 2 + 1'

After this information, I don't know one of the Bios updates the settings changed for Ram on this model and Crucial does not know about it. Even in the specs on the HP website there is information still 2 GB max.

So hope it this information will help you at this time.

Pozdrawiam. MAM ze hopes you information cos Ci dadza.

  • Anyone using DDR2 - 800 MHz PC2 - 6400 RAM on a Dimension E520?

    I have a 8-y-o Dimension E520 with a CPU Q6600 and 4 GB of RAM PC2-5300 DDR2 - 667 MHz.

Max RAM is 8 GB so I did research what type of RAM would maximize the expected gain in speed.

According to this articleand this one as this thread of Dell, the E520 can accept RAM PC2-6400 DDR2 - 800 MHz.

In addition, in accordance with this sheet of Intel chipset 965 on the motherboard will have DDR2-800 MHz RAM.

I have noticed however that a sweep Crucial suggested DDR2-667 PC2-5300, like upgrading RAM later.

By no means discouraged, I advanced and bought 4 sticks of 2 GB of RAM DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Non ECC Unbuffered of 240 pins.

Then, installed the new RAM and started in the BIOS. Of course, the 8 GB of RAM is recognized.

Then started to Ubuntu. However, the initialization has failed before he arrived at the office.

Then started to Windows 7 (on the same machine, multiboot). Yet once again, began to start Desktop but bluescreened before that he (0 x 00000019 which seems to refer to the memory problem)

Reinstall all the RAM sticks and tried again with the same result.

Replaced the 4 GB of RAM has low gear and everything was fine.

So, is the RAM purchased dubious quality or not my E520 simply not accept RAM DDR2 - 800 MHz?

In the interest of anyone else might have the same problem or similar, I put the 4 sticks of RAM to the reseller and received four sticks of replacements of the same specification.

And they work perfectly in my Dimension E520.

Thus, in response to my original question, the absence of start-up stems from a faulty RAM.

  • Satellite C660 - DDR3 800 MHz Does really exist?

    Hello everyone,

I did face a strange note on Toshiba Satellite C660 - 15G. On the specs page there says denunciation that supported for C660 - 15G of RAM DDR3 (800 MHz). Is this good?

Please see the page specs for C660 - 15G here:
    http://Gulf.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/en/product/satellite-C660-15G/1099580/toshibaShop/false/

Standard system memory: 2 048 MB
    maximum extension: 4 096 MB
    technology: DDR3 RAM (800 MHz)

I know the 800 MHz DDR2 RAM is!

To please its urgent for me and I need an answer

    All eyes

    Hello

Yes, modules DDR3 800 MHz is an official specs and these modules are on the market so it accurate's on the Toshiba page.

So if you want to upgrade memory you have modules DDR3 at 800 MHz or faster (faster modules are compatible downgrade).

Memory expansion, you can get each authorized service provider or normal computer store.

The machine has a 800 Mhz frontsidebus, but it only supports RAM DDR2-667.

So, you won´t have a benfit when you install faster modules.

  • HP N233SL: RAM 1600 MHz instead of 800 MHz on a laptop does not work?

    Hello world

I have a HP N233-SL, and the max ram I can install is 8 GB. By default, I got 6 GB.

    I checked and it is now 1x4Go + 1x2Go. I wanted to buy a new 1x4Go to add, having finally 2 x 4 GB.

Problem is that the ram installed now is a PC3-12800 DDR3 (800 MHz), and I can't find any ram to buy it is 800 MHz.

Now all I have fnd is 1600 MHz. What happens if I install a 1600 MHz instead of the 800? And strives to have a work at 800 and a second to 1600 (which implies that the system will go back to 800) of RAM?

    Thx a lot

    Luca

    Hello

DDR3 PC3-12800 1600 MHz is expected. I don't know why they put 800 MHz but double channel od mid-range configuration still valid. Double means two and each channel run 800 MHz or 1600 MHz RAM specifications.

No, the system will not retrograde, it will run each channel 800 MHz in dual mode.

    Kind regards.

  • Satellite U400-138: RAM works with 667 Mhz instead of 800 MHz

    Hello

I have Satellite U400-138 with 3 GB of RAM (2 + 1 GB sodimm modules)
    I have new kit 2x2gb sodimm-s Corsair PC6400(800MHz)

When I install new modules, system reported that they are working on 667 Mhz instead of 800 MHz,
Maybe that's the problem BIOS chipset because that support this frequency.

Help me, what to do, to run new modules on 800 MHz?

    Hey Buddy

I doubt that it is a BIOS problem.
The point is that the speed of the RAM can be lowered and locked by the FSB (front side bus)
If the FSB supports only 667 Mhz then your RAM 800 Mhz will run only at 667 Mhz

  • Re: Satellite A200-1IZ - can I install RAM 800 MHz?

    I have a Satellite A200-1IZ and I want to change my orginal RAM memory 2 x 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 2x2gb 800 MHz DDR2. It will work properly with 800 MHz?
Here's something on the processor and RAM:

Intel Centrino Duo processor with Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 processor technology, card WLAN Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN and Intel PM965 Express chipset
    Clock speed: 2.0 GHz
    FSB: 800 MHz
    level 2: 2 MB cache
    Standard system memory: 2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB
    maximum extension: 4 096 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)

    Hello!

Theoretically, you can use the 800 MHz modules because they are compatible downgrade. This means that the RAM is also able to run at 667 MHz. as much as I know that the chipset supports only up to 667 MHz speed and you won't see a performance gain and you can also buy some RAM to 667 MHz.

In any case, I have good experience with RAM Kingston. I use the modules of this factory always for the upgrade of my notebooks.
Maybe this information is useful for you

  • Is Satellite A200 supports 4 GB 800 Mhz RAM

    Hello
I have the Satellite A200 - 1 m 7 with only 1 GB of ram and I think to upgrade to 4 GB of ram.

    My question is:
It is supported at 4 GB of ram, or it won't work?

And it is supported for ddr2 800 mhz memory speed?

    Thank you

    Hello

It depends on the bus front end (FSB) If your FSB supports 800 Mhz then you can use these modules and the modules would run at full speed.

According to this page, the laptop can be upgraded to 4 GB.
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=32477&ft=m&St=3

But note; 32-bit Windows will not be able to use the full 4 GB of ram due to the limitation of 32-bit.

    Best regards

  • Satellite P200D-12f - can I use the 800 Mhz RAM memory modules?

    Hello!

I have a satellite p200d-12f pspbqe model laptop.
It has RAM 2 x 1 gb 667 mhz in it.
So the qustion is: can I put 800 mhz RAM in my laptop? My motherboard supports 800 mhz ram?

    Thank you!

    GLIST

    Hi mate

The speed of RAM depends on the chipset FSB!
If the chipset would support 800 Mhz module RAM would you also with 800 Mhz.

But if the chipset does not support FSB 800 Mhz then you RAM modules would be locked at the speed that is supported by FSB

So you can use 800 Mhz but this makes no sense if the FSB is slower.

    You check the chipset properties!

  • Satellite L305D-S5869: do RAM quick to announced 800 MHz only 667

I don't know if anyone has come across, but I had a Satellite L305D - S5869 7-8 months, I bought it because it was a VERY rare laptop, at the time with 800 MHz DDR2. Well yesterday I bought a new Satellite, L305D-S5940, almost the same laptop, but I had for the same price so that I can sell my old one. It also announced ram 800 MHz in it. I even went to the counter after that I bought and asked if I could use a screwdriver to open it and check the ram, which was indeed pc6400.

Well, I came home and set up the laptop and the first thing I noticed was that the laptop was 2.1 GHz, not 2.16 GHz as advertised, not a huge deal, but was a little upset and yest I know the cpu speed goes up and down by its use, 2.10 GHz is the max he's going. So, I went ahead and CPUz RAM and not only discovered that it was a 2.10 GHz cpu, but the ram was also running ONLY at 667 MHz.

Now IM upset and decided that she was not worth keeping and that he would take back, but for the hell of it, I ran cpuz on my other laptop, and of course the ram only runs at 667 MHz in that one also! Even though I know that there are 800 MHz ram in it.

It is nothing but false advertising of Toshiba, has anyone noticed cela or complained to toshiba on their outright lying and false advertising?

    Hello

I agree with the s of Akuma and what he suggested.
The fact is that the speed of the RAM may be limited by the chipset.
Even you use fast RAM modules, these modules will not work with the best performance if the chipset does not support that speed.

The same may happen if both modules would be supports of different speeds. If you want to use a 667 Mhz module, a module made of 800 Mhz, then the two would go only to 667 Mhz.

These are the two reasons why the fastest modules would be much slower

  • Re: Satellite Pro L300D - 11O 800 MHz RAM installed, only to 667 MHz

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300D-11O, which has a single stick of 1 GB 800 MHz RAM installed. However this RAM work only at 667 MHz. I checked this in Linux and Windows Vista.

The laptop is announced as to have 800 MHz RAM on this page:

    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/JSP/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook ie = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 1055796

The manual of the user who wrote:

"PC2-6400 memory module works as PC2-5300 speed the GL40 Express Chipset Express chipset/GL965"

I don't know what chipset I have, and it would be surprised that this would be the case that the above Web site explicitly states RAM 800 MHz.

    Can someone tell me please?

    Hello!

Now I'm a bit confused of Mr. I think you did search in the wrong user's manual because the Satellite L300D has no Intel chipset.
On the Toshiba site, you can download the manual for Satellite L300D:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online downloads support & -online download user manual

I think that your chipset only supports 667 MHz. normally the RAM always works on the highest speed that is supported by the chipset.
Check the specifications with Everest or PC Wizard 2008.

  • Is it better to have GB usable (at speed = 667 mhz) RAM 3.00 or 4.00 GB of RAM (with usable speed only 2.99 GB = 800 mhz?)

Is it better to have GB usable (at speed = 667 mhz) RAM 3.00 or 4.00 GB of RAM (with usable speed only 2.99 GB = 800 mhz?) I apologize if this sounds like a newbie question, but I'm not too familiar with that.

    Hello

If you have Windows 32-bit instead of 64-bit so not all 4 GB cannot be used.

As I said, download the 4 GB at 800.

  • Compaq Presario CQ60-220US - 800 MHz RAM?

Hey guys, quick question. I know the CQ60-220US comes with 2 GB 667 MHz RAM 5 CASE, I'm looking to upgrade & I was wondering if it will support 800 MHz RAM 5 CASES.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Yes, it should support the memory at 800 MHz, but it will operate at the speed of 667 MHz because it is the speed of the FSB of the processor you have.

Use the selection tool memory from Crucial.com to find the memory you need.  You can use the menu drop-down or the automatic scanner.

  • Dv6000 series upgrade RAM - 667 or 800 mhz?

Hi, I am in the process of fixing my HP Pavilion dv6746tx laptop, running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
The graphics fried and I replaced the motherboard, but I'd also move from 2 GB to 3 GB of RAM while I'm there.

The question is, I noticed a lot of RAM 800 mhz and wonder:
    (1) is it useful to change the 667 and 800?
    (2) it is even compatible with this computer?
    (3) if I keep 1 x 1 GB 667 mhz and add 1 x 2 GB 800 mhz, all still work OK? (even if I don't get any benefit from the 800 mhz)

For the most part, I ask this because my local computer store seems to only sell the 800 and their price is c. good.

EDIT: I know that Aries provided with this computer is DDR2 - what difference would make DDR3 / would this work?

You cannot use DDR3, but you can use DDR2 800. It will downclock to match the other RAM and will work fine.

  • Windows Update KB 3079904 strangled my i5 4590 to 800 MHz

    Hey,.

I installed the latest Windows critical update Monday (KB 3079904) and quickly restarted my computer (custom built last month, no problem so far).  From the start, the processor will not a previous max of 3700 MHZ clock speeds, exceed 800 MHz according to CPUID.  Performance confirms the reduced CPU clock (FPS on games went from 140 to 20).  I tried to reboot a few times and tweaking the BIOS, but to no avail.

I did a system restore before the update and the computer is working perfectly.  Then I installed the update again, rebooted and had the same problem.  I don't want to be without this update, as it is a major security risk, but I also want my computer to work.

If anyone has any advice or recommendations on how to solve this problem, I would be eternally grateful and you can send a pizza roll.

    All the best,
