Dv6535tx HP Pavilion upgrade to Windows 7 notebook. What softpaqs are needed?

Hi, I live in Australia & just got a laptop HP Pavilion dv6535tx of second hand on which the previous owner had installed Windows7 but no driver HP, so many things didn't work (e.g. fingerprint, Webcam reader), so I think that there will be others also. As a precaution, I have re-installed Windows7 - and the original HP recovery Partition is still intact, but I don't know if it is accessible.

I couldn't find anything on this model (Nr GP329PA) on the web except the specs on the HP Andorra site! If a phone at HP representative said that it was purchased in Hong Kong & said HP did not support Win7 on this model and gave me a link for the Vista drivers

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=2093&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=3457...

Through this forum, I managed to find a few softpaqs that add some HP software (SupportAssistant, WirelessAssistant, RicohMediaCardReader, & Update) that works on Win7, but I need help to find Driver softpaqs.

BTW: Here's a link to where maybe the softpaqs are located (by number only)

FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/

Unfortunately I can't find a single list of what is contained in it. Perhaps someone knows if it exists and where?

So is there anyone who knows where I can find the softpaq numbers for:

(1) the scanner software to make it work Win7 & digital loaded v3.4.3.78 pilot AuthenTec AES2501B but it doesn't seem to work.

(2) the Webcam & microphone

(3) IR

(4) DVD Lightscribe burner

(5) quick launch buttons

Help on one of them would be much appreciated.

Thank you, Robert

IM using windows xp profesional can I upgrade to windows 7 and what would be the cost? what I have to put all my files on an external drive then uninstall windows xp then put in windows 7 then put back my files? is that how its done? Thank you.

First the cost, you must know if your hardware can support Windows 7

In General win 7 should a minimum og 1 gig of ram (for 32 bit) or 2 for 64-bit, and it needs a video card 256 MB or greater.

If your less and can not be updated it may be best to start thinking about a new computer.

If the above is ok there are various offers for win 8, but make sure you buy form a reliable site of Ms.  There are a lot of current scams.

    • A you kept a backup pf your LR catalog and images somewhere before moving on to Windows 10.
    • You have access to your original images, or they went too?

    Hi ma1210,

Given that this problem occurred after the upgrade to Windows 10 I think your best option would be to uninstall the printer driver and reinstall Windows 10 drivers for the printer. You can download Windows 10 drivers for this printer by going to HP support at www.support.hp.com site - then enter your product information IE HP Photosmart B110a... change the Windows 10 operating system, download the driver and install it. According to me, which should solve the problem. All the best...

  • HP Pavilion g7-2298nr: WINDOWS 8 recovery software. I need to buy it

I tried to order a set of recovery dissks for my

HP Pavilion g7-2298nr Windows 8.0 and I continue to get bounced by trying to order because HP 'sees' 10 Windows is installed.

The reason for the need to temporarily "downgrade", it's only once "upgraded" to Windows 10, the battery does not "Save".

I have a HP 2000 who did exactly the same thing, and the reason was that he had to be flashed to a newer version of the BIOS.

The G - 7 has Rev. F26 BIOS and I suspect that this device needs to have flashed bios, but when I try to access the DRIVERS/SOFTWARE section on the site of HP support that my "OS" is not being handled so therefore I can not all drivers or BIOS flash.

I planned to do a temporary downgrade to enter 8 drivers etc etc and then upgrade to Windows 10.

    Any ideas?  Thanks

  • 2nd hard drive for HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Notebook - what do I need?

Hi, I have the HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Select Edition Entertainment Notebook (product # WV703AV). It can accommodate two hard disks but only came with one. What would need to be able to install the second hard drive? I need just a connecting cable or I also need to caddy or kit?

Also, would I get a solid state? My laptop that would support or should I just use regular?

Currently, I am on Windows 7 64-bit. I have a 500 GB hd (which came to be partitioned with hp tools/restoration).

Help with what I would need to a conventional hard drive or ssd would be greatly appreciated. I tried to look through messages of others first, but could not find anything specific to my model. Thanks for your time!

    Hello:

The only place I know where you can get a 2nd hard drive kit is that provider.

    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?Main_Page=product_info&products_id=345

Your laptop should be able to work with an SSD, but I can't guarantee it.

I don't really see any point in adding an SSD unless you make the main hard drive, and to do this, you must get an SSD of the same size as the original 500 GB hard drive to use the recovery discs to reinstall the operating system.

Most people get smaller SSD and they use the W7 product key to activate a simple installation of W7.

If you can read all 25 characters of your product key for windows 7, you can do your own installation media and allows to install Windows on a smaller than 500 GB SSD.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

You can install and activate, until, two computers.  So yes, you can install on your new computer to win 10.

If you have already activated on two, disable (help > deactivate) on your old computer before uninstalling it on your old computer.

  • By clicking on the images seems to force trying to open them in the window instead of what they are coded to do.

At least, I think that this is the case.

I'm having a problem where if I click on an image which, say, opens on the site Web and widens, it will rather force it to open only in a new tab. He in turn usually always kills the history of the page where you were just in too, so if you click on 'back' (in my case, in general, the same back button does not work, its greyed out so I have to re - search history manually.) it will send you back to the page where you first started.

And also one more question if it's normal, for a reason for Windows 7 'open with' the function absolutely refuse to read Firefox. If I'm going to go to try to open something with FF, click on the .exe and select, it will not even appear in the box of your choice.
It however allows me to drag and drop them in the browser, and I was able to do it with a Pale Moon plant.

I tried without the add-on, and the problem persists. I think it might be a problem of profiles as Pale Moon had no problem until I installed mine. If there is something that anyone might know which will be not involved to redo my complete profile... once again, I'm all ears.

Sorry, I did further tests when I had the time. It turns out that Download Statusbar (S3) is the issue.

  • What drivers are needed for windows 7 recognize a system with 4 processors, dual-core?

I have a HP ProLiant DL580 G4 with the following CPU specifications:

Four dual-core processors Intel Xeon 7140 M. All of them identical, but the specifications can be found here

I'm running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise, but the recognition of all the 4 physical processors is a MUST.

I can run windows on it very well, but he acknowledges that 2 of the 4 physical processors.

It seems it would be a driver issue, as Device Manager shows two devices having the status of 'unknown '.

If it is, in fact, a driver problem, does Microsoft have all the drivers available, or shall I seek third party?

I would appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you!

I hope that someone will know better, but (from the search), so it seems that it only supports two:

    "Computers with multiple processors (CPU):
Commercial servers, workstations and other PC high-end may have multiple physical processors. Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and integral allow two physical processors, offering the best performance on these computers. Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium edition recognizes only a single physical processor. "
