DV7 - 1228CA: DV7 - 1228CA to WIN 10 upgrade

Hello

I have a laptop HP DV7 - 1228CA and would like to WIN 10 operating system. I intend to move to the version of WIN 7 (64-bit), and then perform a free update to WIN 10 (64-bit) version. I've been able to find the software and driver download for WIN 7, but not for WIN 10 on the HP site. I particularly worried of HP to WIN 10 software version (e.g. HP Recovery Manager and etc...). I don't know that HP will release the necessary version of WIN 10 of software tools for this machine. Does anyone have this experience on the DV7 WIN 10 of WINDOWS 7 or Vista upgrade?

Answers to your questions:

(1) the Boot CD/USB is used to initiate Macrium Reflect whether you can run the restore operation.  You can't run that from the hard disk as it is used when MR runs from there.

(2) I found that I'd resize the system reserved partition, because at 100 MB, it was too small for Win10, causing the upgrade of Win10 to fail whenever I ran it.  This partition is implemented on the preinstalled PC with Win7, the upgrade tool does not set it and in many cases, although it MUST expand, as in my case, it is not and does not, on the contrary.

IF you have no system reserved partition, then do not perform as the upgrade tool should then work OK without him create a.

Good luck

For me, it looks like there are some problems with the credit card.
Who knows what makes you wrong maybe that you have entered the right number or missed something maybe, there is another problem with your credit card

  • Reinstall Windows 7 on hard drive again with only the Win 7 Upgrade disc?

So I have an e9180t which, like clockwork, freezes after about an hour or two after the boot.  I thought it might be the curse of bad mothers, with what they came, but I hope that it is something else so test everything I can.  I noticed that it does not freeze upwards when it is started in safe mode with network.  The hard drive failed the test SMART so I wonder if it's time to replace it as if that has anything to do with the crash.   I can move the cursor, but no applications will be open and eventually everything becomes insensitive causing be tohit the power button to restart.   I already stopped unnecessary startup programs and it will still freeze in unsafe mode.

The PC came with Vista and I think it's what's on backup hard disk partition.  I have the disk Win 7 Upgrade from HP.  My questons are-

    1. If I buy a new HD 7 upgrade disc will be enough to install the full version of Win 7?

    2. anything else I should do when I install the new HD and more to reactivate Windows?

    Thank you.

    Hi Mike,.

Have you created a HP recovery disk to reinstall the factory image when replacing the HARD drive?

It sounds like you have maybe a problem creating the recovery discs now.

A Smart HARD drive test failure points to a HDD failure. The symptoms you are experiencing are likely caused by this fact. You can also have a card mother or any other hardware problem.

You have the key to drive and Win 7 Upgrade product.

I'm pretty sure that the upgrade to Windows 7 to be launched from Win Vista. The upgrade of Windows 7 is a full installation of Windows, so this isn't the problem. But he can't run the installation unless you start the upgrade in Win Vista. Normally, an upgrade to Windows 7 is launched within the current operating system, Win 7 valid existence of an eligible OS Setup and then request a restart to complete the installation of upgrade.

You can replace the HARD drive and try to install Win 7 itself. If this fails and you do not have the Vista recovery discs, you can buy an HP recovery disc set here. There are three different versions. Select one that corresponds to the operating system that is installed at the factory.

You may have another problem to replace the HDD with a Format HDD advanced most recent. Please see thisHP Supportdocument for more information.

If you cannot install the upgrade Windows 7 itself or Win Vista because of the issue of the Advanced Format HARD drive, you may need to purchase a copy of Windows 7 OEM.

I have a fairly new laptop np700g7c from Samsung that came with OEM Win 7 Home Premium.  I discovered that too late that this version of Win 7 does not allow backup to NAS - just will not see my SIN.  Apparently this only possible with Win 7 Ultimate (I got on my last computer so no problem) or professional.

  • Win 8 upgrade and Express Gate

How this will be achieved with ASUS Express Gate.  I have an ASUS Eee PC 1005 HA Win 8.  In this implementation, Express Gate is autonomous and does not seem to create it's own partition.  He did install Dual Boot.

Yes, Express Gate will need to be reinstalled.  Yes, it will be set up (or try) Dual Boot.

Please note that assessment 8 WIN makes no mention of Express Gate.  It is perhaps a good sign.

The upgrade from WIN 8 will tolerate this.  Even XP is not fast on this little guy so express gate allows quick searches on the internet.  That, the Excel and Word viewers is all about the this bug is needed to.

The other candidate to win 8 upgrade (Vista) uses a different version of the Express Gate.  In this case, it is evoked through the BIOS switch and the main program is simply Program Files. It should work very probably.

While we are at it.  After execution of the evaluator, will be the low loader know that the 1005HA is 32-Bit device?

Linux start-up ExpressGate does not seem to occur after an upgrade for an ASUS 1015PEM from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 10 via the upgrade from Ms.

  • HP DV7-3063cl laptop PC: what is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 3063 cl with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

I have recently restored a HP DV7 3063 cl laptop that died a hot mother (MB). I replaced the MB with a new Board of Directors of HP when the price has been reduced to $100, updated the CPU with an announced as new AMD 640 M and applied Arctic Silver on CPU and graphics chips. I put in 4 G memory cool, got the computer to work and installed Windows 10.

The computer seems to run very hot and stopped twice from overheating during its first period of 2 weeks when it there was not a lot of calculating, fan was run at top speed at all times, and the laptop was high to allow good airflow below.

According to the program of the Open Hardware Monitor, the CPU had reached 97-99 C a few times. I bought support cooling a player and that seems to help a lot, dropping the temperature to 20 ° C.

What is the maximum temperature for safe operation of the DV7 with the upgrade of the 640 M CPU?

Anything more than 90 c is too hot. You can specify the processor and the motherboard you have installed?

Also if this from the Manual:

Thermal paste is used on 1 CPU and heat sink section 2 that the services it. Thermal pads are used on the chip Northbridge 3 and 4, the graphical subsystem chip 5 contact Northbridge and graphics/heatsink contact 6. Thermal material replacement is included with all kits of spare parts of processor, heatsink and system board.

So unless you have changed the cooling system to heat composed on the chip graphic you should have used a thermal buffer. Without the pad, it may leave just a small hallway and destroy the cooling properties. You can use a shim in copper or other piece of something metal to fill the void, but if you just put the heat sink down on the video chip you won't get optimal even with thermal cooling paste.

  • Pavilion dv7-7080eo Wifi Win 8.1 problems

So, I'm having a little problem with the wireless switch button on my dv7-7080eo. Although it is not officially supported by HP for the computer that is running Windows 8.1, I loaded the system top and it works pretty well outside the wireless feature.

When you perform a cold start, I noticed that the wireless light is orange, indicating that BT and Wifi are turned off. If pressing the button after login, I get the message that "flight mode" or "... disabled" respectively. Despite the mode plane is disabled, Windows still will not let me activate the wireless or map of the BT of controls Wireless under settings.

What I've noticed is that if I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up then again, press on F12 allows indeed to go white LED and the option to activate both Wifi and Bluetooth are able to be activated and also works if I do not allow them. Shut down the computer gives orders wireless in the same state again - need to have yet another sleep a rewake.

I installed HP wireless button Driver for Windows 8.1 (sp63564), which might not be the reason for the behavior, but uninstalling it seems to make no difference.

Any help in this matter would be much appreciated. As indicated, even if the Windows 8.1 is not an operating system with support for this model, the fact that it works apparently almost all the time I think must count for something.

    Hi JRAM01,

I understand that you are having problems with your HP Pavilion dv7-7080eo Notebook and wireless adapter. With Windows 8.1, we found the best thing to do is in your device manager just to restore the driver. It seems to help with WiFi.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

    Hello Forum team

Laptop model above has the following following problem and upgrade to windows Home 10, 64-bit:

    (1) graphics card works full spin, with fan on.  This is the latest driver updated in Device Manager, also assistant to hp for windows 10 not found no other updates for this laptop, including the BIOS.    Memory and cpu running and a hard drive at least 50%.  Application in the startup Task Manager are reduced to the minimum application.  The graphics card is AMD radeon hd4200.

If it is removable, where can I get a model of graphics card radeon compatible with this model, with at least 1 gigabyte of memory?

the second link is upgrading the bios, but hp assistant discovered that I had the last being:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00042629#AbT0

    Hello

Uncertain about the nature of the problem, but if you have used an older driver that could help?

    Something like that

    https://community.AMD.com/thread/185041

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&OS=Windows%208%20-%2064

The downloaded drivers AMD and its GOLDEN!

-To install all components of the pilot normally (Catalyst Control Center etc.)
-> Graphics driver itself not - you need to install manually by using the Device Manager!

-Open Device Manager (right click on the start icon in the left corner), go to "graphics card".
-Right-click on the map and select 'Update driver... '. "in the context menu (first entry)
-Click 'Find a driver on the computer' (2nd entry)
-Click on "Select driver from list.
-Click on the "Device" button... "in the right corner
-Select the driver file (* .inf) in the folder extracted from ATI. In my case, it was C:\AMD\Support\13-1-legacy_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc\Packages\Drivers\Display\W86A_INF.
There are a few different files, it seems that the dialog box choose the right when you simple select one of them... TRY FIRST! Otherwise, you might try reading the .inf files (they are just plain text files - maybe you will find your chipset in there...)
-Click OK, the dialogue will now see one or two entries that should bear the name of your graphics card - select one of them
-Click next - the screen will go black and flicker, you will hear the sounds of connection/disconnection of the device several times. Do not worry, everything works as expected!
-The driver must now be ready - reboot your system and you should now be able to control your graphics settings using the Catalyst Control Center.

  • Pavilion dv7-2050sm: SSD and RAM upgrade questions

    Hello

I have two question about upgrading my laptop. I use it for web surfing, movies, some excellent/word work etc... for the most part on a regular basis.

    (1) I have seen that my RAM can be upgraded to 8 GB. Currently, I am working at 1333 MHz 4RAM. If I buy 2 x 4 GB 1600 MHz will it work on this laptop, I went into the BIOS and have not seen that I can change the speed of ram anywhere nor has seen how much can this support for portable computers, so should I buy 1x4Go 1333 MHz instead if it only supports 1600 MHz.

    (2) can I put my disk HARD 700 GB Seagate 5400 RPM SATA II 3.0 Gbps with Samsung 850EVO 250 GB SSD? I know that SATA III drives are retro-compatible meaning can work on SATA II but is it useful, how much speed will I use if my laptop does not support SATA III.

    Laptop computer product number: B4E42EA

    Chipset: AMD A70M FCH

    CPU: Improved A6 4460 M to 4600 M A10

    Thank you!

It will not run at 1600 mhz just so buy another 4 GB of DDR3-1333 memory. The SSD is the best upgrade you can do. Certainly worth. SSD SATA-III will work fine on a SATA-II bus. There is very little difference in actual operation.

    Hello

First of all, please go to BIOS and set it to settings (default load) by default.

Then, you can disable secure startup to boot from external media such as disk or USB key flash memory.

Here is a very interesting thread which brings a solution to the problem of similar startup using the image to win 8.

Method? Name is no other method as to try some tools to win 8 released for other series of laptop. The multimedia button requires installation of VAP (value package).
Check and test the VAP to win 8 released to win 8 supported notebook series.

As you said above; computer laptop isn t Win 8 supported model, so I doubt that you will get all the drivers Win 8 in the future.
