dv7-1261wm power problem

Since the fall his Pavilion dv7-1261wm, battery is will not charge when the adapter is connected. I suspect and hope that the power jack harness needs to be replaced, but I was wondering if anyone else has found other items that could cause this,

You are probably right, but after a fall, it could be damage to the main Board. The AC power is enough good cheap I'd try that before replacing the Board of Directors.

  • On the Satellite P30-131 power problem

I have a power problem and I tried the process of elimination, but could do with help, I gave as much detail as possible and appreciate any help or advice.

This started a few weeks ago and seems to be deteriorating slowly.
I turned on the laptop and all 3 lights before the main power on fully charged battery light and light green...

I started noticing a few times when my power cord is plugged into the laptop that, without warning, the laptop switches to the battery power and also turns off power light, battery light turns off too but which may or may not happen, in any case the laptop is still on but now running on battery.

I then out of the supply cable and reconnected it hoping that power is restored, but it has no effect, I have to close then low laptop unplug then Pug back in and I get all 3 lights and then I can start.
Now, when I boot it does not always solve the problem and I can finish on a few seconds of starting battery.

Its certainly not the battery because it has a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

The reason I think it is perhaps one of them is when the laptop going to battery, lead that is always plugged into laptop, I moved, and this can cause the return of t lights and also the laptop back in, power once again, but if I let go then it goes to the battery again one the light turns off. I also took the battery out and kicked and the laptop works but has lost the power sometimes when I moved it turned off my tour so I'm sure that it is related to the lead, but do not know if its internal or external.

    Any help or advice appreciated

    Thank you

What kind of help did you expect exactly?

It seems you have tested everything that could be tested using common control procedures, I think that more is not possible
I can provide also a few suggestions and I m coming to the conclusion that neither electronic power supply is not ok or your power adapter.
But I would tend to the first; electronic power supply.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • possible power problem

    Hello

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 7865 has started to give me some power problems.  I followed the troubleshooting steps to

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph06788#n414

The first time it's happened that I noticed that the power light little would go as I connect the power cord to the back of the unit.  But the little green light and then returned.  After some tests, the power light remained on and I was able to turn on the pc.  However, it started again this morning so I finally took my monitor power cord and used this one to connect the power supply to the back of the computer and to a power outlet and it works.  I plug the pc power cord into the monitor and my monitor works too so I don't know if it is or is not the power cord, but I'll go out and get a new one and see if that solves all my problems.

However, my question is this... If the problem is with the power supply that I plug in can be replaced?  If so, it is something I can do myself or should I consider somewhere to do?  Also, if I need to replace the power supply and I can do it, how can I know what type of replacement power supply unit power I need to get and are there any other cables that I also need?

Thank you so much for all your help.

The information I found States 7865 HP is a Win98ME around 2001. The stock PSU is a Bestec 200W.

Form factor is Micro ATX PS3. Here's a picture: http://www.911forpcs.com/7865.html

If your going to replace the power supply, you must perform steps. I found a contradiction Newegg.

  • Pavilion dv7-6135dx: power supply for Pavilion dv series

I have a pavilion laptop dv7 is about 2-1/2 years. I just had to replace after it does not charge while plugged in the battery. I always ran my laptop plugged in and just developed this problem about 5 weeks ago. I received the spare cord recall. Now with the new battery installed, it still will not charge so that hip upward and running. I called the Geek Squad at Best Buy, which has replaced the battery. They said to turn off the unit and allow it to charge for 8 hours. Then the battery charged. So now, I'll have to turn off the laptop at all times to keep the battery charged. It will take a full load of 6-1/2 hours. I think that the power adapter is going or gone bad. It happened to someone else out there? Should I order a new adapter or just to treat the problem and turn off the laptop for the battery to charge?

I ended up having to replace the battery because it was defective. The motherboard was not the problem.  But in the long run, it was actually the adapter that has gone wrong and killed the battery cells. I bought a smart adapter HP at Best Buy, plugged in, turned on the laptop and Yes, it started to load the runtime so solve my problem. I had no idea that the AC adapter might go bad after just 2-1/2 years, but he did. Hope this ends up helping someone else.

  • Power problems

I try to solve the problem on a friends laptop - Pavilion dv7-1103ea.  It is sometimes said (well a few times) when he's working on it, it just stops and must be restarted.  When he first linked it round, of course, I went to the top and he immediately cut.  Turn it back on and started OK.  I hit the power wire and still once he died.  I thought I had found the problem.  But now I'm not completely sure.

Left plugged in while other problems, but keeping the eye on the power icon in the status bar.  Initially said plugged in and charging. He eventaully got 60% charged.  Checked an hour later and this time connected but saying does not support fees 32%.  an hour later; plugged in and and drop to 62%.  Waving the power cable no causen any problem related to the closure.  The only thing noticed was LED power light adjacent to the entrance of socket came out (but it came back)

Today. I got 80% but now saying plugged in, but do not load and up to 44% (and down) just removed power cord and then reintegrated and now load!  When charging, the battery indicator shows always not what; the indicator still maintained load.  I tried on different power plans

I suspect the problem of connection, and the only reason why it wouldn't start or stop, it was that the recesses was flat.  However I'm afraid that even if was not the sector was not be detected/used.  Appreciate the thoughts as to where the problem might lie.  I don't want to take the laptop goes to check the connection of entry if the problem seems to lie in the power circuits.

As an aside, my own laptop - HP NC6400 also indicates that it is connected but does not support. I did not pursue this more as alleged battery did his time.  but now, I was wondering if there is an underlying element of the question/common

I propose that the first thing to pick up on two laptops is a bad battery. They are old enough. The second thing to try on the dv7 would be a new power module. The power plug module would require opening to the top but no welding.

  • HP dv7-3085dx power light flashes, but the laptop does not work.

Hello! I have a HP Pavilion dv7-3085dx. It has a hard drive Bay 2.

Recently, I bought the caddy + cable kit and an Intel SSD. The thing is, when I plug the sata cable to the motherboard for the laptop, and the SSD to it, the laptop does not light. When I press the power button, it flashes once (the power LED flashes once), but the laptop does not light. When I press again, nothing happens.

I tried to remove the power supply plug, battery and plug it all again, but the power light flashes once (when you press the power button) and no reaction.

Maybe it's the sata cable: when I remove the new cable and connect the SSD with the sata cable on the 1 hard drive Bay (the cable supplied with the notebook), it works fine. The laptop starts. And when I connect the former sata cable, with the SSD on the second hard drive Bay, it also works.

I just want to now what is the flashing light means light? Why it does not work with the new cable?

Thanks in advance! Sorry for my bad English...

    Emilio.

It is possible that this is a problem with the kit. I would recommend to download and install the latest BIOS update for your laptop, using the download at the following link: http://goo.gl/rbHkg

If it still doesn't work after that, I would recommend to suppress the kit for a replacement or to try another.

  • Power Mac G5 power problems...

Hello, on a quest to find a G5 computer, I found an early 2005 Power Mac G5 (2x2.7GHz). The first time I plugged it in and turned on, it works beautifully. The second time, I pressed the power button and heard a loud noise from the power supply. I replaced and this is what is happening now:

When I plug the power cable in, there is a small clicking noise about a second after plugging in, and the power led on the front of the machine flashes for the click. However, it does not at all depend on when I press the power button. When I unplug the cable, it makes the same noise about a second after I unplug the unit. I see a pale glow of the light output after unplugging it.

Anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem? It is part of a collection, that's why I want to do operational.

There may be defective capacitors or other power supply problems, including

overheating in the dust inside the power supply or air channels. And

If the device is cooled by liquid, other things may be involved.

Since all the PowerMac G5 power supplies are considered to be custom,.

to get a good replacement is a way hoped to improve the situation.

Unlikely as is, actually an inexpensive job.

Have you tried a SMC power management unit reset? Or reset PRAM?

Several links appear in the result of this research; some look promising:

I read about the noise, the PowerMac G5 can do when some power components

  • Satellite Pro U400 starts - power problem?

    Hey,.

my liquid U400 down without any reason and doesn't start anymore.
My first idea was damage from CPU, but even if the laptop is taken to power the power led does not illuminate.

    (1) make U400 notebook work normally when the battery is removed, but pluged in power? Because if not maybe only the battery is broken.
    (2) any other ideas? :)

Guarantee is more than 1 months :(

Answer to your question is YES. You can remove the battery and use your laptop with AC power only. In most PC stores showing the rooms are placed laptop without battery. Probably the batteries have been stolen in the past.
Anyway, they can run with AC power only.

When you connect the laptop to the power plug and the power light is not on I assume that there is a problem of electronic power supply.
Contact the nearest authorized maintainer and ask for help.

  • With Satellite A30 power problems

    Hello

Over the last four years, I have been using a Satellite A30 with XP Pro... had no problems whats so ever until that last months... I started to notice the battery life becomes lower before (prob because of the decrease in battery life) but also when he is on the grid it will charge the battery to 100% but instead of power are removed from the sector It starts to drain the battery even when the sector is connected.

Another problem is that I have to keep or stop the laptop goes into hibernation mode so it can recognize it is powered from the battery to load... even in this case, it may take several attempts for the laptop to begin to charge the battery...

These problems started start after warranty, and was released in additional insurance coverage

Any information or help gladly appreciate it that I fight to get assignments done University

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hi mate,

had a similar problem with an other friend A30. After sending the machine to an ASP (certified partner), they told us that the internal charger was defective and they have offered to swap the motherboard.
But given that the motherboard was really expensive for him he sold the machine on Ebay and bought and Satellite A200 which is a machine really well.

I guess that the motherboard is gone...

    That's all

  • Satellite A110: keyboard, touchpad, power problems

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110, purchased a few months before. In recent weeks, it started randomly locking the keyboard and the touchpad (with or without external mouse plugged - although an external mouse still works).

Now there is power to the top of the issues, with the suspended system Bios Toshiba screen, can fully initialize maybe once in five.
Acquisition of wireless network is also very temperamental. I tried this software I can think (new drivers/virus scan/uninstall-reinstall), with the exception of a reinstall full backup disk Toshiba.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think we should first find out if the problem is software or hardware related.
In this case the installation of the operating system with the Toshiba Recovery CD is recommended.
After installation, the laptop should work without worries.

But if the unit will hang and not start properly there could be something wrong with the hardware.
I think that your warranty is valid and in this case you should always contact the ASP in your county for a check.

  • Toshiba TL96 power problems

    Hello everyone,

I'm not very tech savvy so please excuse in advance.

I have the TL96 Smart/3d LED TV. Purchase August 2012 from the wonderful Comet. Anywho, I had no problem at all until yesterday.

Television has decided to close automatically in standby mode, even if at the time when television was in use. Since the decision, I can get the TV to power - LED 1 light is green fixed - no light at all on the 2 LED light - but it's just a blue screen.

The TV remote control does not work, the controls on the side of the TV do not work either. I have the TV plugged directly, I took the plug for 30 seconds and retried and always the same scenario. TV starts, green light is solid, and it just goes straight to a blue screen.

I removed the HDMI connectors and also we had a PC Tower connected via RGB input - I tried to light a single HDMI connected and swapped their all - always the same result.

Support FAQ suggests a "lock" for the TV controls does not, but I can't locate it.

Any advice would be appreciated because it is outside the standard 1 year warranty and the provider is currently in liquidation.

I am a single MOM with two boys who are absolutely dying to return Minecraft!

    Thanks in advance

    Katie

The Panel mentioned blocking disables the keys on the TV. All the buttons on the remote control is still usable. But I guess that's not the problem.

I think that your s TV material is affected. Perhaps the mother board who knows I guess that there is no simple workaround solution for this problem.
The technician must check the unit to find out the defective part, but I think in the case of defective Panel or motherboard the fix would be expensive :(
