DV8T-1000 gel

Hi all

I have a Win7x64 DV8 running.  About a week ago, the computer started randomly freezing times-sometimes it will not start at all, others I can run an hour before freezing occurs.  I tried the system restore, but did not have a restore which has been more than a few days, try checking the drive and utility verification of memory in the Bios, but also roll back the display by any chance driver which was my problem. I also uninstalled the last few more recently installed programs and conducted an analysis of virus - or as much as I could before it would freeze.  There was also a strange behavior that sometimes the computer power for a second and quickly closed, repeat it again and again until I have remove the battery or move the laptop.

I was a victim of the capacitive touch button wireless well-documented randomly switched off and back again with the controls bass/treble.  This has been corrected a little more than a year before, but I've always had very few recurrences of the problem. I doubt it's related, however.

I just opened the laptop and added more Ribbon to found the ribbon cable for the buttons above the keyboard touch and watched for any obvious mechanical problems.  Other that a bunch of screws very loose and very loose, maybe broken DC power looked OK to my untrained eye.  I ordered a new DC jack in case this could be the problem (could it be?). Before I've tightened it, the keyboard, half of the laptop was fragile and would have "couple" as you moved it.  It sometimes turns without touching the power thus button. Clamping of things seems who have yet been established.

I guess my only other options would be to clean or replace the hard drive, which for me is a last resort.  I don't want to keep throwing money at this thing if I'm not sure what's going to fix it.  I'm pretty disappointed with HP.  I bought 2 notebooks in the recent years and have had significant problems with both.

Any suggestions? Sorry for the lengthy post, just want to ask all

Thank you

Mark

I think I have solved the problem!

I disassembled it down to the motherboard. Found a screw loose in the fan, do not know if that was it, however.  I could have fallen in there, but I remember hearing a groan muffled, whenever I moved the computer. Given the history of loose screws, I would not be surprised if one wandered into the fan.

While everything was outside, I PLOPPED some thermal paste on the processor and graphics chip. I had the laptop running a bit of a load and the fan does its thing, before him, but perhaps a little "anemic."  I did have this time to a run-time because the problem started, so I'll tell you that this is resolved!

Thank you very much UNIPROG + for the tips!

  • WiFi on/off button and indicator acute/severe problems in HP Pavilion dv8t-1000 CTO

I bought a HP Pavilion dv8t-1000 CTO in December.  Within a month, a hard drive has failed and another was provided under the guarantee.

But now there are new problems. First of all, the Treble/Bass indicator keeps popping up without reason and the bar keeps increase or decrease. Then there is the problem of Wifi. It seems that my Wifi continues to go without reason. I thought that the two issues were linked. But I'm beginning to see that my Wifi turned off only when the laptop is moved. Just the slightest movement will come out, BUT it happens every time the laptop is moved.

I also noticed that when these problems are occurring, the 'secret' or the Wifi icon on the media smart bar (above the keyboard) will not match the icons on the screen. Twice the mute icon was red in the smart media bar, but the volume was on. Sometimes the Wifi went nuts and off, because of traffic and then the Wifi light turned back to blue on the media smart bar, but wifi is always off.

Once both the 'secret' and wifi in the smart bar icons does not match what it says on the screen. WiFi is turned off, but the icon was blue. The speakers were on, but the silent icon was red. I activated the wifi back and the mute icon on the awesome bar, went from red to white.

I am Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit slot.

Any thoughts? Ideas? I really need to fix this problem because the Wifi problem that happens at least 20 times a day.

    Hi all

I sent the compuer back and detailed the litany of problems. He was returned about three weeks ago and worked fine. I didn't report again just in case something turned up. Also, I hope I have this jinx not to realize that everything is ok.

The form returns with the laptop has enabled (reconfigured) hard drive, an extra box indicating the update of the BIOS and verified where keyboard technology has added 'Restraint' in the keyboard area. I suspect that it has something to do with the bass/trebl command.

    • No more noisy fan (when it turns cool it is very quiet).
    • No more wild and crazy popup Treble/Bass
    • Wireless begins to backup on the awakening from the sleep (one of the techs told me that the wireless was not supposed to return during the restart of sleep.)

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I really wish I had some good news for you, but I did not...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem you face is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features is the specialized drivers written for the specific in your HP PC hardware - and unfortunately, there is no driver HP Win10 for your PC. HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the drivers he needs for these features simply do not exist!

To restore all the features, you will need to do a reset to factory using HP recovery media to its original operating system pre-installed.

    Good luck

  • HP dv8t-1000 Bluetooth on Win8 does not

After installing Win8, bluetooth does not work. According to the info on your website, it seems he does not intend to support Win8 on my device.

Just to let you know, I have install Win8 on my laptop, I did HP recovery, then upgraded to Win8. Everything works well except the bluetooth. -There's another problem with Microsoft update that failed to install, but that has been resolved by the judgment of all non-microsoft services, restart the machine, install the update (and it works this time), restart all services and restart.

This laptop is a powerful laptop. I bought it with the intention of keeping it for many years to come. So please is it possible that you could help me get the bluetooth on Win8 running.

    Thank you

    Mutasem Beauvois

I lost hope in solving this problem I tried all kinds of tricks and solutions that people posted. It could just be me... However, I have a degree in computer science and I consider my free knowledgable by following the instructions that post other people... but not luck.

I was about to follow the advice of someone buying an bluetooth external 4, hold on to my machine and use it instead of my built in. At the last moment before I do, I remembered that in 2009, I bought a version of BlueSoleil and they gave me the life time upgrades... So I contacted them, got a license for their latest software, installed on my machine... and it worked! I was able to connect my bluetooth devices using the BlueSoleil software.

This means that the problem of bluetooth on my machine (and most likely everyone who have this problem) is a SOFTWARE problem. I hate Microsoft and HP doesn't get time to save hundreds of times of people who have this problem. I'm a software developer myself... it does not have much time to debug the problem and find a solution...

If you really want to help us, you could... at least you could contact BlueSoleil get their Bluetooth drivers, create an upgrade works for everyone and to improve our machines.

One note though, if you try to buy Bluesoliel is that their software is sometimes buggy... I use the bluetooth mainly to connet my bluetooth headset. I take the headphones with me everywhere wherever I'm going, and I connect it to my cell phone when I'm away from the laptop. So when I come back and want to connect the headphones to new laptop, seomtimes, do not access immediately... when it refuses to connect, I open the Task Manager, close everything that has to do with Bluetooth, reopen the software Bluesoliel and force to connect... and it works again. but this happens regularly.

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion dv8t-1000 CTO Notebook

I have the laptop with a GB HDD 7200 RPM SATA 500 that I try to resurrect by installing an SSD.

Before that, I need to know how to determine which version of the SATA this product currently supports. No sense in buying an SSD that is a newer version of SATA than the system can take advantage o, even if the SATA versions are retro-compatible.

I looked everywhere in the HP and Intel web sites, and they make it difficult or impossible to answer this simple question.

Information system MS do not return level SATA, nor does nothing from HP or Intel.

Edits January 29, 2014 - AuthenTec is swallowed by Apple, Mini-Fingerprinter is now available at Softex, the people who brought us HP SimplePass Version 8.x

You must buy a fingerprinter $ 10 (cost US) and use the AuthenTec TrueSuite software.  Looks like and acts like the software of HP SimplePass 5.1.x (first version - primitive and meh, but it works!)

    ==========================================================================

Procedure of Installation TrueSuite SimplePass Eikon mini - update of Firefox

    AuthenTec Fingerprinter Mini Eikon

The Eikon Mini Fingerprinter is about 10 US $ + shipping costs (about 6 dollars).  It comes in the mail.  Once you have the only piece of hardware, the software is downloaded.  Hold off or just download the software and try it - access code is on the card provided with the fingerprinter.

The software defines right up.  Assuming you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8 +, it should be virtually "load" and "go".  I have entered a few fingers, tried connecting windows, restarted several times...

USB Mini (by Softex) fingerprint reader

This software has been tested with Firefox and is supposed to work with Chrome.  There is no reason why it will not work with Chrome.  The installation is probably the same - SimplePass follows the same rules regardless of the browser with which it is associated.

    • Install the Mini Fingerprinter port in any USB 2.0 (or 3.0) that should be
    • Download AuthenTec software
    • He Set up, if you like - test connection to Windows...
    • You can update Firefox - at least off V26.  Lock it down for updates (just in case), if you wish.  It's completely Softex software, so Firefox can simply continue to work, but I don't trust Firefox - they update frequently for my taste and things just stop working too often for my taste.
    • NOTE: No Addon FingerFox is used with this version.
    • You can specify that you want to update all your Addons, with the exception of Digital Persona.  You don't have to actually remove, just do not select to 'activate' the addon during the update of Firefox.  It will not work and just delays the update in a few seconds.

    After Firefox update...

    • If you have already installed the TrueSuite software: you'll probably have to "Reinstall" the software TrueSuite still after you update to Firefox.  The driver is OK.  Reinstall the software again over what is on the system.  When the TrueSuite reinstall menu box opens, tell him to 'Fix' the installation.  Regardless of the options you have done previously, that's to say, the windows login, will stick.

Now you should be able to create a Webcard for, say, your e-mail address or another site... maybe your user name for this forum.  Test and repeat...

Limitations:   The only problem with this version of TrueSuite software I have found so far is the primitive character of the software compared to the "HP" style more solid software SimplePass 5.3.x - 5.4. + relative.  5.2 TrueSuite is reminiscent of HP SimplePass 5.1.x.

Assuming that you can get this Mini Eikon where you are, it can work well and let you into the 21st century with real SimplePass connections.

The Mini also works with HP SimplePass Versions 6.x and the new Softex wrote HP SimplePass Versions 8.x

  • "do you want to activate your reader now?" - Cyberlink wants uninstalled HP MediaSmart

Have a dv8t-1000. For the first time I watch a blu - ray (or DVD) movie. He asks "do you want to activate your reader now? So I clicked 'yes '. IE open the cyberlink Web site. Downloaded file "HP - CNB.v3309_1621_Medi_HTS090825 - 02_Normal.exe.» Run this file and I get the following message "HP MediaSmart DVD has been detected in your system. Please uninstall first. "What? So I restart the entire process and say 'No' to activate the player. He keeps asking me to "check for updates". It's an endless loop of questions. He will not play the movie. I ran HP Support Assistant, who says that everything is fine. What's wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Paul

    Hi Paul,.

This assumes that you are running Windows 7.

Download and install Revo Uninstaller from the link below.

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php

Run revo and use it to uninstall your HP MediaSmart DVD software.  Make a right click on the program icon you want to remove and select uninstall.  During the process, that you may be asked to remove the registry entries, simply select all and then click on remove.  Do the same for any left over files and folders.  Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the PC.

Then, download the latest installer for MediaSmart DVD on the link below and save it to your desktop.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50935.exe

If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Right click on the installation program you download, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  Open the newly extracted folder, open src and scroll down until you see the application setup ( 6th in the background with a size of 310 KB ).  This Application Configuration right click and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once the installation is complete, restart the computer and see if you can now read your Blu - ray discs.
