DVD drive internal unrecognized in Wake UP

Inspiron 17R (beginning 2013) during sleep, the internal DVD drive is not recognized in starting up. Once I hard reboot the laptop, it is recognized. It is configured with the DVD +/-RW 8 X 9.5, Serial ATA, TRAY, drive TOSHIBA SAMSUNG STORAGE TECHNOLOGY. When I try to run the diagnostic online player is not detected, it seems that it has been ignored in the bios. I've recently updated the bios to the most recent recommended. Any ideas what is happening here?

There is no special configuration required to install an SSD more later. Just get the configuration of the disks you want to use with the SSD. Of course, with the installed SSD, a cache mSATA provides no benefit, then I wouldn't choose this option.

  • How can I get the utility auditor of system files (SFC) in Windows XP to search for the source files on a CD in a CD/DVD EXTERNAL drive instead of the CD/DVD drive internal Windows?

I use a Dell Dimension E310 PC running Windows XP Media Center Edition.  The CD/DVD drive has stopped recognizing CD long ago.  (He still recognizes DVD but not CD).  I use an external drive to CD/DVD of Asus.  I keep getting messages that Windows need to replace versions unrecognized some Windows file and asks me to insert my source CD into the CD/DVD drive.  I checked the MS Knowledge Base and got instructions on how to use the utility (SFC) System File Checker to replace the unrecognized Windows files.  I started the process and inserted the source of CD files (recovery CD provided by Dell with the PC when I bought it) in the drive of external CD/DVD, but the SFC would not recognize it it.  He just kept asking me to insert the CD of source files in the CD/DVD drive.  So I have to find a way to get the SFC utility to find files in the external CD/DVD drive source - or I have to take the PC to the Geek Squad, buy a new CD/DVD drive and get them to install it.  Would appreciate any help you can provide.

    Hello

It is possible, but you need an extended drive Toshiba compatible and taken in charge.
I would recommend asking the service partner for readers supported and ordering of the ASP him. He has information on the supported devices and you'll be sure you get a car 100% taken in charge.

    Hi Eddie & Colin,

Thanks for your suggestions, I really appreciate it!

I was able to solve the problem at last.  I checked that the Toshiba System Restore program was uninstalled when I installed Windows 8.  He had been, but the reminder of system restore was still there, so I uninstalled.  The problem has always existed.  Then I thought to uninstall the Toshiba Disc Creator program too and success!  The DVD/CD drive is back & work.  So, all is well here in EU of Brixton, London, once again!

Thanks again for all help & best wishes to you all.  Take advantage of Windows 8, I am now!

  • (Redirected) Alienware M17x R4: Windows7 not detecting SATA DVD/CD internal optical drive, game dvd stuck inside.

Hello, I need help here because I can't really understand what causes the problem.

I inserted a BioShock 2 legit installation DVD, and my CD/DVD drive does not detect. I tried to take the drive by pressing the eject ODD button, but nothing happened.

Under 'My Computer' my drive does not appear.

In Device Manager, it does not show any CD/DVD player either.

    Control of my computer

I took a lot of steps trying to find out what is happening, and I thought it was a problem of software based.

Ran the Dell diagnostics, Fix It, started and checked in safe mode and pretty much everything what they advised me to do in the guides.

One step, I am committed not, where do I look for the registry subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}' and change the filters upper and/or lower, because there is no filters to change.

    Photo of my registry editor

The last step, I got added the following subkey to atapi in regedit.

When you pull up my laptop, I hear my work in the car. During the ejection of pressing, looks like she is about to eject the disc, but nothing has yet come out.

The CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS but does not appear in my device manager. It becomes clear to power. In the BIOS, it mentions "SATA ODD MATSHITARV11 Downloader". It is also displayed in Intel RST.

I don't have that a single HARD drive on my laptop, and in my BIOS my SATA operations are on RAID. It would make a difference if I switch to AHCI? Could it be a loose connector causing this problem of detection for my OS? If so, isn't weird that my BIOS is always detect? I am able to boot from the CD/DVD, but when I do just start of my storage drive as he always does.

    Any ideas?

  • End of 2011 MBP El Capitan Windows 7 Boot Camp without optical drive internal (LOSING MY MIND, Please HELP)

    What I have:

    • Original disc Windows 7 Pro from Microsoft as to
    • Downloaded ISO exact copy of Microsoft as well if need be
    • DVD player Samsung external optics
    • USB drive (s)

    What I don't have:

    • Optical drive internal and original; the Bay is empty.
    • Patience to use VM and WinClone and all that BS.

Sorry for the harsh tone, but I'm losing my mind edition .plists and restart a hundred times a day. erasure of the USB drives when all this used to work years ago.

I was sure it was possible to install Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro 2011 delay, an external optical drive. I not even asking to use a USB key.

Why do I have all official records of Microsoft and a USB/DVD drive, but am forced to use an other intern, that is broken for like 90 percent of Mac owners.

I see a black screen with a cursor on startup or a black screen saying no boot device... After using Boot Camp Assistant. I tried to not use the wizard and make a Fat32 partition on my USB on and implemented to date, but this method failed as well for some reason any illogical.

Please help me or at least explain certain restrictions that I can never get about in what concerns my machine and Boot Camp.

    Thank you!

Can you extract the the Samsung SATA connector and connect to the SATA internal optical drive connector?

The EFI on your Mac version works partially with a USB Flash drive, but the file info.plist mounting is required. The VM/Winclone method also works.

  • Can't boot from USB/dvd drive on Satellite Pro M10

    Hello

    Thank you

    Luke

    Hello

Don t you need all the drivers for this key USB — because the USB disk is a device integrated on your computer. This means that whenever you connect the diskette drive to your machine, the computer establishes that diskette as a cable internal disk and this is the reason why you won´t need all the drivers.

It s already installed when you plug it in.

  • Satellite A200-AH5 CD/DVD drive does not burn any CD

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite (A200 AH3) under Windows Vista Home Premium.
    For what it's worth, there's a T2085 @ 1.73 GHz processor. It is a 32-bit operating system.
In the Device Manager when I click on the CD/DVD-Rom drives, I get CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632D ATA Device.
By clicking on this that I find that the driver is working correctly and up-to-date. I was not able to burn a CD on this system...

I have not tried to burn a DVD.
I ran through all the steps to burn a CD, however, but even if he goes through the process to show the progress that each song to a playlist is burned to disc, when the disc is supposed to be finalized... nothing on the disc when I try to read, and with the exception of iTunes or another program open when I place the CD in the drive to be played absolutely nothing happens.
I tried to burn music on a CD on the desktop of my sister, and it burned fine.

Then... It is not a problem with the discs.
When I took the disc to my sister had burned and placed in the disk drive on my laptop, it displays the tracks that had been burned and he played the music very well. This really threw me a loop for.
The laptop is only a year old and I can not burn anything.

Unfortunately, the warranty has expired. I am desperate to get this problem fixed. I don't know if he's going to burn a DVD, but I ruined 2 boxes of CD - R discs already. After disk supposedly burned music... even if no music has been burned... the disc is ruined and must be discarded.

I'm not terribly knowledgeable about aspects of warming of the computers, so I hope you can tell me in general terminology if you answer to my problem. I really hope someone out there can advise me as to what is happening or what I should do to fix the problem.

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Thank you.

    Hello

In your case, I recommend trying the different CD s from different manufacturers.
You should know that not all CD or DVD would be fully compatible with your internal CD/DVD drive.
In many cases no compatible CD or DVD would lead to exactly the same problems that you described in your post so trying different media!

In addition, I recommend checking the Toshiba driver for a CD/DVD drive update page s firmware.
As I m not wrong not the Satellite A200-AH3 belongs to the Canadian series and you should check the Canadian page for a new firmware. Maybe a new firmware is available

Last but not least, you can switch to other burning software I m using Nero I think it s the best applications for such purposes

What files should I edit to make it to load from the drive externally and if this isn't the solution, what do I do?

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to use the recovery with external CD/DVD drive disc. Therefore, place the internal for use the recovery disc.
You can get a new drive to an authorized service provider.

But if the original OS from Toshiba is installed, you can use the function of disk recovery HARD reinstall Windows as well. Go to the advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer :)
