    Hi Paul,.

You don't say what model of laptop you have, but generally speaking if you are using Windows XP then you will use the standard Microsoft drivers for your scanner.

However, you can Toshiba drivers and utilities download from Toshiba web site by clicking on the Support section and downloads and selection of files to download. You will need to fill in the details of your laptop so that the list of appropriate driver (unless you have provided these details when you register).

    Kind regards

  • Re: CD/DVD drive is not recognized correctly on my Equium P200

I recently bought a laptop P200D and now, I found that the CD/DVD drive is not recognized.

In Device Manager the drive icon has a yellow on exclamation and in the wealthy area it says "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

I tried uninstalling the drive and then to restart the laptop but it is has not been successful. I recently downloaded and installed the Service Pack 1 for Vista and I have read that there have been problems with device drivers and wonder if there is such a body?

Are there updated drivers available for this device?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hi jp1681,

    ·         This fixit did you use?

Method 1: We will uninstall the DVD drive in Device Manager and reinstall.

    a. click the Start button and then right click on my computer. Click on properties.

    b. click on the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

    c. now, expand the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, click with the right button on the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive and click on uninstall.

    d. restart the computer.

Method 2: Log on to the manufacturer of the DVD drive and install the latest updates from driver\firmware.

Method 3: If you are not able to read any DVD, check if you have followed the article mentioned below.

Download XP_CD-DVD - Fix.zip and save this file on your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it, and double-click the file to extract the content. Find the EXE file that you extracted and double click it.  A confirmation dialog box appears when the script is done.  You may need to reboot for the change to take effect.

Works on XP and Vista. Good luck!

    Hi, Claudio Nahmad,.

This error can occur if the data in the registry for the device and its driver has been corrupted.

Since you have already done a factory restore, leave, try to uninstall and reinstall the driver CD\DVD and check if it helps.
Code 19: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged

We can also refer to article and check if it helps.

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Important: The above links contains steps to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information, you can view the article:

    Back up the registry

You can also try to install Windows updates, including optional updates driver and check if that helps.

  • Satellite M40X - DVD drive is not recognized

I bought a new satellite pro m40x yesterday and today everything worked fine but today the dvd and cd rom is not recognized more. I don't know about cell phones, what can I do? I don't want to return it to Toshiba and wait 4 weeks to get it back.

    Hi Christine,

Please check in the Device Manager to see if there's anything showing against your CD-ROM drive. If your CD-ROM is always displayed, you should be able to run the process of troubleshooting against it to check for possible errors.

If your CD-ROM is more listed and then launch the 'Scan for hardware changes' option to see if it detects your CD-ROM.

  • Silent CD/DVD drive acoustic does not work on Satellite P100-194

    Satellite P100-194 (Win XP MCE, Bios-Version 2.20)

Given that excessive vibration of the drive DVD-Multi-with some of my DVDs and CDs, I would not use the acoustic silencer, but West no difference between Silent Mode and Normal Mode.

I tried to reinstall the silent acoustic tool, without success. As this problem starts to get really annoying, any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if the built-in-multi-DVD player is sensitive by default (sometimes entire Notepad starts vibrating combined with a noise level very high during playback of a dvd)?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi WB,.

I think that acoustic silencer simply limited the rate at which information can be obtained on CD/DVD in order to prevent the rotation high speed that can sometimes occur when extracting the CD or the DVD to the hard drive. If you're just watching DVDs (or listening to CD, by the way) then the speed of the drive will be not particularly high because once the buffer is full so there is no need to read more data from the disc itself. If you look at the car LED, you'll see that it only lights intermittently ever.

The speed of the drive will decrease during playback, as the laser reads information from the outer part of the disc surface.

The presence of noise and vibration normally indicates that the disk is "eccentric" or is not set centrally in the reader, and this may indicate a possible problem with the clamping mechanism itself. However, it is always worth checking that the center hole of the disc itself has no Burr or pieces of materila which he would lift off, and it is also useful to check if the label of the disc (assuming that it is a type of stick on paper) is properly attached and has no loops or bubbles in it since this may also cause noise of air.

I have the experience of a couple of game of CD-ROM discs that cause a lot of noise and vibrations in my book and recording, I found that the central hole was slightly shifted.

    Kind regards

  • Re: New DVD player is not recognized - Satellite 5200 801

The old DVD drive no longer works, so I bought a new DVD player (SonyNEC Optiarc AD - 7593A).
But the system does not recognize the new drive at all.

I can not boot from the CD and in the hardwaremanager, there is no CD/DVD.

But the drive works. If I put a CD in, you can hear how he turns upward.
If I put the old drive, it is recognized in the hardwaremanager, but the reader no longer works.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you
    FO

    > But the drive works. If I put a CD in, you can hear how he turns upward.

It says nothing! You can hear the rotating disc because it s connected to the laptop and it s operated.

The BIOS is important! Your new CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS?

If not, then you have purchased NOT compatible CD/DVD player!

I think that the master/slave/c-salt settings are not compatible with the laptop and so the CD/DVD drive may not be recognized.

  • DVD is not recognized on Satellite L500-1XJ

    Hi all

The DVD is not recognized when a dvd was released in the laptop.
I tried to reinstall the driver but no luck.
    Does anyone have an idea?

    Thank you

    Gunter

It is not easy to say what the problem is here.
We don t even know what DVDs you are using.

Maybe you should write a little more of everything cela and offer some fact and relevant information. You know, for a better understanding.

Also which driver you have installed again?

  • Satellite Pro 6050: DVD player is not recognized correctly

The guide shows the Toshiba SD-R2102 as one of the internal drives for machine of HRT (supplied with the CD-ROM). So I bought one. Running XP and when I install the hardware is not recognized at boot, or in Device Manager. Looked at the site to support my BIOS is the last and can find no driver there or on my tools disk.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Hello

As far as I know your device has a Slim select Bay. If the drive is not in a good position and there is no proper contact of the reader doesn t exist for the system. Please check if the disc is in the correct position. If you put it inside at the end to do a click. After that, the reader is correctly positioned.

    Good bye

  • Try to get the HD-DVD player to work on the Satellite P100-463

    Hello world.
I bought this baby the weekend and since I am struggeling trying to get HD-DVDs to work on it. I added the HD_DVD xbox 360 drive, but Power DVD Software Advisor continues to say that the graphic card 9Geforce Go 7900) drivers must be updated to read HD-DVD content. Now, there is no available such as newer driver installed (84.0?)

Can someone please advise if the card supports protection hdcp anyway? Maybe my problem is another source.
    Thanks for the tips.

Wait do you use player designed for the Xbox in the Satellite P100?
Hmm, I m surprised that this device is compatible with the Toshiba laptop.
Anyway, as far as I know you need a special DVD player to play and watch HD-DVD on the laptop.
A simple WinDVD does not support the new HD-DVD.

By the way: I know a Toshiba model that shipped with the HD_DVD drive.
It was a Qosmio G30 DVD HD model.
I found a new Nvidia GeForce Go7600 8.3.2.7 Version graphics card driver update in the download section of driver on the Toshiba site
But I put t know if it s compatible with your card...

  • System Recovery works do not with my Satellite P100

I followed the instructions I saw on many sites to be able to do a system restore to 'out-of-box"State. I've maintained pressed zero and hit the key on and then release the zero key when I hear the beep. After that it only gives me the possibility to proceed to the recovery of the system. It starts just as usual.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Hello Shae

How to start now? OK Let's ' s go!

Toshiba recovery procedure can be done with recovery CD/DVD or facilities using images stored on the HARD disk. Image stored on the HARD drive will be offered with the new notebooks only and I am sure that your Satellite P100 is delivered with a CD/DVD media and not the HARD drive recovery option.

AFAIK this option 0 is for HDD only installation. Please note that this option 0 is not also for all Toshiba laptops. For European books, you can start installation disk with F8 and not 0.

I hope you understand how this works now. The question is what P100 you have exactly and how you are trying to install OS? You want to use Toshiba Recovery CD/DVDs?
