DVR streaming

Hello

I have a set of stream flow rates dvr and I want to change dynamically based on the bandwidth. I use sprint of OSMF 10 player for streaming of recorded videos. Can anyone provide assistance using code examples how to DVR MBR of switching.

Kind regards

Amit

The example of using the DVR specification section has details on how to read the DVR content:

http://opensource.Adobe.com/wiki/display/OSMF/DVR+support+specification

Once you have created the MediaElement, assign it to MediaPlayer.media.  The MediaPlayer class exposes an API for switching of MBR.

http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/ActionScript/3/org/OSMF/media/MediaPla yer.html? = 1 allClasses

By default autoDynamicStreamSwitch is true, then it will switch automatically based on your bandwidth, buffer, etc..  This set to false in order to be able to switch manually (see the switchDynamicStreamIndex method).  There are other events and properties that are relevant (look for ones with "dynamicStream" in their name).

    Inquiring minds want to know... is it possible to dynamically add DVR functionality for streamed live video content?

    In other words, I want to be able to provide a DVR capability to our live video being transmitted to 3 different bitrates.

    Is this possible?

    Hi Mike,.

    I am pleased that your application is actually happening (who knows, you may even be done now)... But here's my best shot at answering your questions:

    1 flex is a framework that uses MXML, a declarative XML-based language for describing the presentation of the interface user and behaviors and ActionScript 3 to create client logic. Flex has a large component library - you use MXML to place components in a compilation of Flex applications approx. to the SWF files and run in Flash Player and AIR. So the Flex example that comes with the DynamicStream class has some ActionScript in what you can stop to get out and use in Flash. the example includes a MXML file that you can open in any text editor.

    Here's more info on Flex:

    2. to create a stream on CAMERA DVR, you will need to check DVR Auto Record (to start recording when you start streaming), or click on record at any time after the start streaming.

    3. If you want to subscribe to a data stream, use 0 for the parameter start - 0 plays a stream recorded. Streams DVR are just recorded flows.

  • Need help - what hardware/software for streaming?

    Our client is an estuary - like a State Park.  We built them an interactive application in Flash.  It's an executable compiled running on Windows 7.  It was coded in Actionscript 2.0.

    They want a fixed camera on a stretch of beach.  The power of this unit must be delivered as a stream to the kiosk hosting the Flash application.  I'm one in fact complete the Flash programming on this project.

    We need to know what equipment to install and how to configure it to feed the kiosk.  I guess that Flash Media Server must be integrated, but I'm not a video or streaming.

    The kiosk has an internet connection.  I'm pretty sure that Flash can only use FLV or h.264 (or some varieties of it).  It is not my area of expertise, but once I have a URL with the appropriate stream I can manage the interface, etc.

    A security company has already installed a camera, but I don't get anywhere trying to make it work.

    It MUST be viewed in IE and requires an ActiveX control:

    http://owc2.DDNS.specoddns.NET/

    I'm sorry that I can't give the credentials because of trust issues.

    I learned that it is connected to a facility, 50 yards away, via a CAT-5 cable.  This facility is not the location of the booth.  If the signal needs to get the camera installation and then to the location of the booth on the internet, but cannot use a browser to display, only a native Flash video format.  It's ok if the signal is delayed by a few seconds or a few minutes.

    After investigation, I got this message from the engineers of course security camera (Speco Technologies) material:

    "The network DVR stream uses the ActiveX control to display a video on Internet Explorer. The only other way to the video stream if you have access to our SDK to understand the definitions of protocols such as HTTP or RTSP streaming and it will have to integrate our SDK in its application.

    We want to be selective of WHO, we give our SDK in and we like better observe and participate actively in integration projects.

    In order to consider giving our SDK, I will need to know the following.

    • How many cases this customer see with us?
    • What is this project it seeks to integrate? The e-mail, it seems that it is for a 1 x D8RS.   “

    We are ready to replace the camera as much as we can get a stream of data able to decode natively Flash.

    Please let me know if you have any ideas.  I am at a loss and it is very important for the customer.

    Thank you!

    Eric Vetterick

    Since FMS only takes in charge the RTMP ingest, I do not think that you will be able to use FMS for this project. You could do some hack botched such as running the activeX control in a browser and use a screen capture driver to feed an RTMP capable encoder, but it's messy and really inefficent.

    Wowza Media Server supports by pulling in the RTP stream from an IP camera, and assuming that the IP camera is video encoding with codec suitable for playback in flash, Wowza will be able to take the IP camera stream and deliver the Flash clients. This assumes that the camera takes in charge RTP and assumes the network that the camera is in the East (or can be) together until NAT or port forward demand from the internet to the camera.

    Since you do not need (from the sound of things) this stream to be accessible to the public, it could make sense to run the wowza server in the establishment where the camera is connected, rather than having it on a server into an external Datacenter. This way, you don't have no recurring fees for the server.

    So what to do this work with Wowza is not rocket science, it can be a bit complex, and you can expect to spend time of application development (Java) Wowza to create administrative services to manage the camera (or additional cameras in the future).

    Either way... the speco D8RS seems to be a DVR and not the model number for the camera. If you can find the model number of camera, I will check to see if it supports RTP because Wowza would require, and if it is supported by a codec suitable for delivery to Flash.

    Help, please... Thanks a lot...

    Hello

    Please try the FMS and DVR.

    A few quick points, I suggest you to try to make things are as follows:

    1. ensure that the records are produced as soon as you start the DVR/Streaming. Go to the directory\applications\dvrcast_origin\streams\_definst_\ FMS installation folder and see if you can find three currents with the names you gave while starting the DVR. Ensure that flows are increasing their size, confirming the registration of the data on the disk. The DVR feature expects and needs to save to disk files. If in any case, you cannot find the files being saved, you will need to double check your water course names!

    2. for the purpose of simplicity, I would recommend that you use the following data stream names in all places:

    While the publication: mp4:livestream%i.f4v

    MP4 is required to play/publish all f4v files. %i would give the names of stream as livestream1, livestream2 etc... (using %b would make workflow names like livestream350, livestream500 etc. According to your name of the stream, leading to a likely delay!).

    During playback, in the smil file, make sure you have the same names of rivers: mp4:livestream1.f4v and etc.

    Recordings on the disc: make sure that the files are saved with the name: livestream1.f4v, livestream2.f4v etc.

    3. I would recommend that you start recording (for DVR) directly from FME itself instead of using the DVRControllerSync.swf. This swf is just an additional tool to use if you use not of FME. Since you are using FME, at the start of the publication, make sure that you enable the check box DVR Auto Record in the lower corner on the right. It would automatically start recording, eliminating dependence on the DVRController swf.

    Please try and let us know if this helped.

    Thank you!

  • Game live and recorded with streamType = dvr?

    I use my own custom (with the DVRCAST application) DVR Player, but is considering moving to the OSMF/Strobe player.  In my custom player, a DVR workflow currently being listened to, I allow the Viewer to jump to the beginning of the stream, when the stream of data that corresponds to the direct current point in time, or jump at any time between the two.

    He plays with the player strobe connected to my DVR stream, if I set the streamType DVR live but show a scrub bar that you might think do you jump to the previous points in the flow, but it doesn't let you do this.  If I set the streamType registered, it will allow you to move to any point in the workflow, but it does not take in with where the end of the stream is automatically.  However, you can force it to refresh where the end of the stream is by moving the current position on the bar of scrub anywhere and then you can drag the current position on the bar of scrub at the end of the scrub bar and you will be about to the point of living in the stream.

    While this approach can be used like this, I wonder if the streamType = dvr feature behaves as expected or if you should be able both to watch the live stream gold watch at a given time in the file to archive .f4v (as you can with streamType = registered).  I would like ideas on that.

    Kind regards

    Hi Tim,.

    I was able to find the number that have faced you. Here is the solution:

    4\applications\dvrcast_origin\scripts\ExDVRStream.asc Flash Media Server you want to manage some properties object streamInfo else they will be undefined and they are held by OSMF to play correctly as DVR.

    startRecTime = 0;
    stopRecTime = 0;

    If (streamInfo.endOffset is undefined)
    {
    streamInfo.endOffset = 0;
    }
    If (streamInfo.begOffset is undefined)
    {
    streamInfo.begOffset = 0;
    }
    If (streamInfo.append is undefined)
    {
    streamInfo.append = false;
    }
    If (streamInfo.maxLen is undefined)
    {
    streamInfo.maxLen = 0;
    }

    If (streamInfo.startRec ==-1 | streamInfo.startRec == undefined)
    {
    startRecTime = - 1000;
    }

    I edited this file on your server, you just need to restart your server and start using it.

  • Scripting FLVPlayback 2.5 for DVR

    So, I'm working on an application that uses the DVR of FMS 3.5 feature and am stuck.

    The side edition of the system works very well, and I can get a very simple playback working as well (by logging into the application of the WFD, attaching one NetStream to my video object and calling ns.play (streamID, 0, -1).)

    However, I need a rich Interface to control the video playback. FLVPlayback component looks like it'd fit the Bill, but I can't seem to connect to my workflow. I tried hardcoding all parameters via the Inspector of components in Flash CS4 to read a specific stream that I recorded, and all I get is a bar of buffering without end.

    What I really need to do is instantiate a via AS3 FLVPlayback component and attach a NetStream. Or, at the very least, connect it to a compatible DVR stream and script then some controls (e.g. jump-to-a-specific-offset).

    Is there an easy to follow to do this guide, or could someone give me 2 minutes preview?

    Thank you very much!
    -Dan

    Oh sorry about that, I don't see the title.

    First of all, you cannot read the stream of DVR with FLVPlayback 2.5 without the DVRCast application - and we have not yet released. That should have been more clear in the docs and I'll bring them up-to-date.

    But you can play a NetStream - have - you checked the FLVPlayback 2.5 API documentation - they install locally when you download the component. The class you want to watch is FLVPlayback. Set the NetConnection.connect() info in FLVPlayback.source and specify the data flow in FLVPlayback.play ().

  • Live streaming with DVR on linux 64-bit platform

    Hello, everyone. I have deployed enterprise edition 4.0 FMS on my 64-bit linux platform. in the FMS applications folder, I create a subfolder "dvr" and at the same time to create a dvr.asc. the code is as follows:

    application.onAppStart = function()

    {

    trace ("app fme started!");

    };

    application.onConnect = function (p_c)

    {

    p_c.disconnectClient = function() {}

    trace ("-disconnectClient" + application.clients.length + "-");

    application. Disconnect (p_c);

    }

    this.acceptConnection (p_c);

    };

    application.onPublish = function (p_c, p_stream)

    {

    trace ("onPublish streams:" + p_stream.name);

    p_stream.record ();

    };

    application.onUnpublish = function (p_c, p_stream)

    {

    trace ("stream of onUnpublish:" + p_stream.name);

    p_stream.record (false);

    };

    I'm waiting for the live stream will be recorded on the FMS server, but unfortunately nothing has happened.

    But if I use my pc (xp 32 - bit windows platform), everything works fine. When I connect to my pc win_xp

    the fms server automatically created a file streams\_definst_\myVideo.flv under the folder of dvr.

    then the fms on linux 64-bit server cannot create the mavideo file. FLV?

    everything here can give me some advice?

    Thank you for your response. I am a new learner of linux, so I have a lot to learn linux technologies. your answer was referring to 'permissions', then I connect the linux server and use the command 'chmod' to make the directory writable for the video editor dvr.

  • Storage DVR when you use HTTP dynamic streaming

    Hello

    When you use DVR with RTMP streaming flow could / should be registered as a single large file on the server, but when using HTTP streaming stream will consist of many files of chuncked; in this case how the flow will be backup, FMS 4 will bring together the pieces? will unlikely, that pieces of flow be saved? in this case, I wonder what tool could be used to access and make videos of him. What is the exact of the FMS4 behavior when dealing with storage of DVR HTTP streaming?

    Thank you

    I want to correct you here: HTTP Streaming application are served as a segmented files, but recording is great single file whereas you have just one segment - if you gave segmentduration then you would multiple files. I hope this clears your doubts regarding the DVR HTTP Streaming.

  • my hp laptop dvr 1125 crashes when viewing youtube or live stream

    Why my lock the laptop when I try to view youtube or live?

    Hello

    Check the following if you use IE9.

    Open windows control panel, open Internet Options and click the Advanced tab.  Under the graphic acceleration, make sure you there is not a tick against 'use made instead of GPU Rendering software.  If it is, uncheck the box and click on apply to save the change.  Restart IE.

    If the above doesn't help (or does not), download the latest installer of Flash Player and save it to your desktop.  Then, close all browsers, open windows control panel, open programs and features and uninstall Flash Player, if it is displayed here.  Once completed, restart the PC.  Now, double-click on the Setup program on your desktop to reinstall Flash Player.

    Another option is to download and install Firefox as a temporary measure, as the latest version of Adobe Flash seems to work OK with that - you may need to run the installer of Flash again after installing Firefox.

  • Remains of streaming HLS

    We have HLS live streaming events streamed using livepkgr and default liveevent application. However even if we stop the flow, users can still play last 5-6 seconds of the stream on their iOS devices.

    The http://ourdomain/hls-live/liveevent/streamname.m3u8 link still works too even if we stop the flow. The main problem here is that when we want to create a stream with the same name, even once, it no longer works. Request OUT indicates flow, but all customers replays just to publish the old 5-6 seconds again and again.

    What could be the problem and how to fix it?

    ADBE-recording-mode = setting

    Here the parameter can be

    1. "record" - that will create a registration fee every time that you start publishing. Delete the old. You must be sure about this.

    2. "append" - which is the default. In the case of recording is added to the previous record. But for this to work properly, you must have either

    a. correct settings ATC application.xml. (which I can't remember offhand)

    or

    b. must have absolute timestamps of the encoder. In OUT, sending absolute timestamp can be activated by syncronisation to true in the file config.ini from the OUT.

    If you said, you don't want to store (any data from dvr) records settting adbe-recording-mode = record is the best for you.

  • End of the live stream. Steps to make it available as VOD content?

    I'll be streaming different events on every 2 hours in one night. After that each event live ended, the steps to do so that each finished the live event available on VOD? Should I compress all files in each segment in a single .flv file?

    Thank you!

    Dave

    You will need to keep a manifest.xml file in 'livepkgr/events/_definist_/liveevent /' directory and more the Event.xml file. Note that the dvr info tag must be added to this file to have dvr info tag in the manifest output file.

    LiveEvent.F4M.

    Then your manifest.xml should look something like -

    http://ns.Adobe.com/F4M/1.0">

    as you yourself pointed out.

    Again, I think you're a little confused, because there is no file liveevent.f4m physically on the disk, it is generated on the fly by the direct links Manager. If you do not have to keep any f4m file in the directory of events, FMS will create for you automatically whenever you ask.

  • DVR with 4.5 RTMP and iOS, is possible?

    I was previously using FMS 3.5 to record from flash media live encoder using the DVR application. It worked and I could get in a live stream, all this not only a window, and I was using RTMP for playback (not HTTP).

    Now I would like to move to 4.5 and continue to use RTMP for DVR, BUT add support for iOS. So my question is, is it possible? I have looked over the documentation several times and cannot understand it. I see livepackager and who seems to support CTS but must also use adobe http dynamic streaming and it is not true DVR (Yes actually save).

    So is the dvr app now obsolete, and if not how can I add support for her iPhone? I already have a custom player and really hope that I don't need to rewrite so that it uses adobe http dynamic streaming just for that.

    best,

    Tuviah

    Hello

    a. any plan update dvrcast to 4.5 and take in charge the RTMP protocol and iOS. Am I correct that they would simply require the code server-side, and would be possible if livepkgr was open source?

    Rep. : DVRCast is not updated. You must use the livepkgr application, if you are looking for the box ready applications in FMS for iOS. The code for livepkgr is available under FMS-Installation\samples\application\livepkgr. You can use it to make your own applications, as you make changes somewhere else too (httpd.conf and etc.).

    b. how to configure livepkgr to save everything on the disc (not just a window) so that a F4F is created for the entire recording session, which can be viewed later. I read the documentation and could not find it. I'll give you an example of use cases, we need our website to record live meetings that can last minutes or hours (and that remote users and look at in any point even at the minute the meeting 3 is already 5 hours) and we need to let users access records of previous meetings.

    Rep. : Livepkgr app records the length of your life on the disk, without any limit of time (if you do not want). Everything is recorded on the disc.

    c. and y b also possible on iOS or we we just a window during the live recording?

    Rep. : Record is separated from the delivery. iOS may or may not be subscribed or used, but recording will continue as long as publication occurs. Remember, what the publication on RTMP (permanent connection), but delivery HLS is over HTTP.

    d. with http instead of RTMP delivery we will have specific framework seeking or just keyframe search? It is a requirement because we associate bookmarks and metadata with frames.

    Rep. : I'm not much more of an expert on this subject, but I guess that his search for keyframe.

    e. I rejoice to rewrite my current netstream code, but if you do then do. Is the strobe Media Player open source, and it would be possible to include it in my custom player (and not the other way around)?

    Rep. : It should be possible to integrate seamlessly.

  • Detect if a HD stream live has a start time

    Hi all

    I use the OSMF framework to play an active stream of Akamai HD DVR. Everything works fine but the question is: what happens if the stream has not yet started? Can you OSMF show a start time and give the user a date with a logo/image on it or something?  It can be easy to answer, but I don't really see anything out there specifically addressing this.

    Yes, hypothesis: a user comes to the site to see an event, the event has not started streaming yet, we want to present the user with some news or whatever saying at the start of the event.

    Possible?
