Dynadock: set up for external monitors only in Windows XP

We have a number of different laptops Toshiba dynadock DVI running Windows XP SP3 and dynadock 2.3 c with the video driver 4.5.14974.0.

They all work very well, exactly as planned, except that the majority of users want to use with the external monitor only.

We are currently their execution in mirror mode because the split screen extended mode is not necessary which requires the external monitor at the same resolution as the screen internal.

All laptops have screens internal standard WXGA 1280 x 800, but find an external 19 "monitor that supports this resolution is a real problem with most being WXGA + 1440 x 900.

I found a 22 "monitor is going to do, but the image is not very strong, probably because its native resolution is WSXGA + 1680 x 1050 and are also just a little more expensive.

I found a document on the Web from Toshiba site we (Document ID: 98082393) that details how to display only the external monitor, probably with the help of whatever the external monitor can manage the resolution which would be perfect, except that it only works with Windows Vista.

If someone has found a way to do this with Windows XP, I tried following the instructions of Vista, but I am unable to set the external monitor as primary display? Toshiba are working on a new video driver that will support this configuration?

Sounds a little crazy for me because this is how the majority of the standard docking stations is used and many companies also have a significant deployment aspect 4:3 or 5:4 screens that obviously don't work well with laptops widescreen in mirror mode.

Our users are currently using XGA 1024 x 768 in mirror mode which, on a big screen is stretched and defeats the main reason for having a large screen. We are the only ones having this problem or are we missing something obvious?

Thanks to anyone with a useful suggestion.

I have a big problem with my Satellite U300 - 13H. I need to set up my external monitor broad (Compaq wf1907v) at 1440 x 900.
I downloaded the latest drivers from the Intel website, but when I tried to install it, I got this message "* the driver being installed is not validated for this computer." Please get suitable driver from the computer manufacturer.

    Thanks for your help.

    > The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Download the correct driver, the computer manufacturer please. "This means that you must use the graphics driver from the Toshiba driver page.

Why? Because graphics drivers of 3 third-party sites are not designed and certified for Toshiba laptops.
The drivers of Toshiba GPU support thermal protection which is needed to prevent overheating of the material.
The drivers of Intel, ATi or nVidia page don t support this protection!

You can use and install these drivers ONLY at you OWN Risk!

By the way; You can choose the resolution 1440 x 900, only if the graphics driver supports this.

    Hey,.

If you connect your laptop to external monitor and press the FN + F5 key combination what happens exactly? Pressing the FN + F5 key combination shows different options and you should test with external monitor only (not the clone image). If you work on external monitor doesn't do this work?

In addition, you must connect the devices before starting their.

Also, take a look in the BIOS and try to load the default settings. Make sure that that the HDMI cable is connected before starting Windows and check the status again.

By the way: what operating system are you using exactly?

  • Problems to project a PowerPoint presentation (2015) for external monitor/screen/projector

I have a problem with PowerPoint presentations (2015) on my MacBook Air (Early 2015). When I go to the slide show-> game start, or when I click on the shortcut at the bottom of my document presentation button, I get the speaker on my mac book but not slideshow on the external display. My background image appears on the external display. If the computer and the monitor are communicating properly. My computer is selected as the control view. When I go to slide show-> Set up show, the external monitor is selected for display. The only way I can find a way show presentation is to select 'Swap poster' view of the presenter, and then go to the external display and select monitors swap to switch back. Another weird thing. If I mouse over the slide in the main presentation while in speaker on my laptop (none other than the background on the external screen image), the presentation gets confused and attempted to show the screen of the speaker AND presentation both on my laptop. Help! PowerPoint presentation is an important part of my work, and it gets really annoying.

Thank you for all the ideas/solutions!

I had the same problem for two days with two different projectors; a NEC and Epson. The only way I could make it work was starting up in 10 Windows via Parallels and the opening presentation. Everything works fine through Windows 10. I hope that Apple will release a fix soon! I don't like to run Windows, any more than I absolutely have to.

  • Cannot set external monitor like main window on T500

How can I configure my external monitor as the main in Vista window when it is connected to the docking station DVI port mini?
"My problem is that the check box ' this is my main monitor" is always disabled after having extended my desktop to monitor 4.

The external monitor is loaded as screen 4. (Screen 3 is the T500 and 1 & 2 is assigned to the internal Intel screen card that is not in use)

    Thank you
    Philippe

Vista because of grief in this regard and we have never seen a good answer about why.

The good news is the utility Thinkpad Presentation Director - fire just that upward and step through the wizard. It will allow you to set up your monitors as you wish and save it as a profile. In most of the situations that the configuration will be available when anchor you, but worst case are you just select the profile of the PD icon in the task bar (or the value of the checkbox to automatically apply whenever the laptop is connected).

I want to emphasize however that we have to make these options - the great victory is the ability to put primary watching for whatever reason Microsoft has grayed out in regular checkups.

    Best,

    Kevin

P.S. If you really don't want to see the configuration of four screens and that you will not use the switchable graphics in the BIOS you can set discrete graphics (only) display rather than switchable. You will still likely PD to define primary/Main.

PPS you should also be able to do through the ATI Catalyst Control Center, but in some cases that makes you stop more than the PD Assistant.

  • External monitor only up to 720 p using HDMI

I recently bought a Samsung curved (S27D590C; 1080 p). My setup is a MacBook Pro 13 "(mid-2012), connected to the screen using an adapter 3-in-1 (mini DisplayPort to VGA, DVI and HDMI). When I use the VGA, I can get up to 1080 p. For some reason, I can only 720 p when you use the HDMI cable.

The HDMI cable is probably good as I am able to get a 1080 p using a Windows laptop without adapters.

Additional information: by using the same configuration (MacBook + 3-in-1 adapter + HDMI cable), I am able to connect to another TV which has a native resolution of about 720 p.

Finally, connecting with the HDMI, my MacBook is able to detect the monitor but the monitor does is display a blank screen.

I would really appreciate everyones help, because this is my first purchase of external monitor. Thank you.

    Hi Danne18,

Looks like you can't get good resolution on a monitor, and you get just nothing to display on another using your MacBook Pro. I would use the following article to help you get that resolved. There's a lot in there and some of it is basic, but it should lead you to getting this problem:

  • Satellite Pro U400 - How can I get the native screen resolution for external monitor?

I have a samsung syncmaster external screen connected to a Satellite Pro U400.

The resolution of the screen goes up to 1280 etc. but the minimum samsung is 1440 x 920 (ish I forgot).
How can I get the samsung to display full screen expanded to save my eyes of the realativively small screen internal?

    Hello!

Have you tried to update the display on your laptop driver? Check the Toshiba site for an update:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

In addition, it would be interesting to know if you are running the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?
And what operating system are you using? Have you installed all Windows updates?

For external LCD, monitors, you must set the screen refresh rate of 60 Hz.
And if you want to change the resolution of the screen, you must select the second monitor in the graphics options on Windows.

    Good bye

  • Max Resolution for external monitor via HDMI on Lenovo Y700?

    Hello

I hope that someone has experience with external monitors on a computer laptop y700.

Is this possible with my laptop. And it is even possible to connect a 4K screen?

Thanks in advance for your help.

So finally, I tried to connect my laptop to a 2560 x 1080 widescreen-resolution-display via HDMI in an electronics store:

THIS MARKET! It is not a problem to run it with 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz. The only problem might be a 4K resolution screen that it only works with 30 Hz, because it's an HDMI 1.4 port.

I have a G20 running XP Media Center with a Nvidia GeForce Go 6600. I have used the setting of 1440 x 900 so far on the screen of the laptop but just bought a 22 "monitor and uses instead.

The problem is that the screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 and I can't seem to be able to define it. The only options are 1440 x 900 or 1600 x 1200. Anyone know how I can get the graphics chip at the exit of 1680 x 1050?

    Thank you very much

I have no experience with that, but some share on this forum I have read similar topic. Before you wait here use advanced search option and 1680 x 1050 as search terms. I'm sure that you will find this topic where a guy explains how to set the resolution to 1680 x 1050 on external monitor.

Plug into laptop and the monitor turns on and if not detected automatically, and then use the Fn key and F key (will be CRT or a rectangle on the keyface) switches between the laptop screen, laptop and external outside only.  Leave quickly 10 seconds for system key pass.

  • Recommendation for external monitor for 2009 17 "MBP

    Hi all

I would like to get an external monitor for the time where a 17 "display is not quite big enough, but is there a limit on the size I can go? And with a 2009 MBP, would be a 4 k screen work?

The specifications of my MBP is: 17-inch, early 2009, processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M 256 MB graphics card

I'm happy to find an opportunity that A1082 Apple display 23 ", but maybe I would go a little bigger. Used Apple screens are starting to become a bit expensive when there are more than 23 ", so I consider sacrificing the aesthetics of the product and get a monitor not Apple to about 27"... could anyone recommend any specific model?

I will mostly use the screen for the design work (InDesign) and surf, so that I don't do high range editing, I'd still like the colors to be accurate enough.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Markos

the resolution maximum support from outside is 2560 by 1600, the resolution of the movie screen 30 inch apple.

  • How to set up an external monitor to display cell with lid closed?

    Hello

I want to configure my new two external monitors to function as an extended desktop MPB lid closed, but am not clear how. What I see as I type this now is the screen MBP as usual, the external monitor to the right has the image of the desktop from my laptop but nothing else, and your screen to the left with the Yosemite stock to the image of the Sun and nothing else. They are connected by a Targus docking station, I guess that properly since both are alive and well.

What I would do with lid closed is the screen to the left of the screen MBP and see right monitor as an extension of the left. I tried to close the laptop to see it would automatically migrate to the left monitor, but it does nothing.

Your help is appreciated in advance.

    Paul

In system/display Preferences, you can set to mirror or extend.  https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT202351 if this does not work, you might have a problem with your connection.
