Problems to project a PowerPoint presentation (2015) for external monitor/screen/projector

I have a problem with PowerPoint presentations (2015) on my MacBook Air (Early 2015). When I go to the slide show-> game start, or when I click on the shortcut at the bottom of my document presentation button, I get the speaker on my mac book but not slideshow on the external display. My background image appears on the external display. If the computer and the monitor are communicating properly. My computer is selected as the control view. When I go to slide show-> Set up show, the external monitor is selected for display. The only way I can find a way show presentation is to select 'Swap poster' view of the presenter, and then go to the external display and select monitors swap to switch back. Another weird thing. If I mouse over the slide in the main presentation while in speaker on my laptop (none other than the background on the external screen image), the presentation gets confused and attempted to show the screen of the speaker AND presentation both on my laptop. Help! PowerPoint presentation is an important part of my work, and it gets really annoying.

Thank you for all the ideas/solutions!

I had the same problem for two days with two different projectors; a NEC and Epson. The only way I could make it work was starting up in 10 Windows via Parallels and the opening presentation. Everything works fine through Windows 10. I hope that Apple will release a fix soon! I don't like to run Windows, any more than I absolutely have to.

  • Dynadock: set up for external monitors only in Windows XP

We have a number of different laptops Toshiba dynadock DVI running Windows XP SP3 and dynadock 2.3 c with the video driver 4.5.14974.0.

They all work very well, exactly as planned, except that the majority of users want to use with the external monitor only.

We are currently their execution in mirror mode because the split screen extended mode is not necessary which requires the external monitor at the same resolution as the screen internal.

All laptops have screens internal standard WXGA 1280 x 800, but find an external 19 "monitor that supports this resolution is a real problem with most being WXGA + 1440 x 900.

I found a 22 "monitor is going to do, but the image is not very strong, probably because its native resolution is WSXGA + 1680 x 1050 and are also just a little more expensive.

I found a document on the Web from Toshiba site we (Document ID: 98082393) that details how to display only the external monitor, probably with the help of whatever the external monitor can manage the resolution which would be perfect, except that it only works with Windows Vista.

If someone has found a way to do this with Windows XP, I tried following the instructions of Vista, but I am unable to set the external monitor as primary display? Toshiba are working on a new video driver that will support this configuration?

Sounds a little crazy for me because this is how the majority of the standard docking stations is used and many companies also have a significant deployment aspect 4:3 or 5:4 screens that obviously don't work well with laptops widescreen in mirror mode.

Our users are currently using XGA 1024 x 768 in mirror mode which, on a big screen is stretched and defeats the main reason for having a large screen. We are the only ones having this problem or are we missing something obvious?

Thanks to anyone with a useful suggestion.

  • Need for external monitor for Portege R500

The screen on the R500 (PPR50E-01301TEN) is fine for a use for an hour or two on the go, but if I use it constantly throughout the day, I get a bad neck and headache (perhaps the angle that you have to look as far as its small size). So I want to get the external monitors for her at work and at home. Home preference would be an LCD TV.

The problem is Windows tells me that the screen resolutions supported for the external monitor is 1280 x 768, 1920 x 1080 and 1920 x 1200. Linux wants to offer me 1280 x 800 or below, although I might be able to fix this with a little tweaking. Assuming that Windows is right, does anyone know of a 18-21 "wide screen monitor or a TV with one of the resolutions supported as its native resolution, or even a resolution supported? I can't find something.

It should probably be 1920x1xxx, 1280 x 768 will be quite grainy close up on a 18 "+ monitor." Why aren't all common intermediate resolutions on the monitors (1440 x 900 or 1680 x 1050) supported? If he can do 1920x1xxx, he should be able to make them.

As much as I know duplicator can not improve things. This external device just flow through the signal from the computer laptop itself.

What resolution do you need for your monitor?

  • Satellite L650 - HDMI connection for external monitor

I've linked the laptop to my Sony LCD TV via HDMI, no problem. I have a (Acer, 24-inch) LCD monitor that has a HDMI port also. I used it to play ps3 and xbox360 via HDMI connection, no problem. I have two lines HDMI 1.3. The two lines are working without any problems.

However, when I connect my laptop to my LCD Acer just external LCD monitor can t work properly. I can barely see what is display on the monitor, very snowy. It's hard to describe. I took a photo but don't know where to download it here.

I tried both HDMI lines, but both failed. I tried to change a few settings in the laptop, but nothing makes any difference. I'm looking for the driver for video card on the Web from Toshiba website and found that my current license is updated.

I'm not a tech geek, but I think that I don't know something on the computer. Am I missing something here?

Guys (and girls), please throw in an idea (tooth tell me to check if the connection is good, I don't already).
    Thank you

    Hey,.

If you connect your laptop to external monitor and press the FN + F5 key combination what happens exactly? Pressing the FN + F5 key combination shows different options and you should test with external monitor only (not the clone image). If you work on external monitor doesn't do this work?

In addition, you must connect the devices before starting their.

Also, take a look in the BIOS and try to load the default settings. Make sure that that the HDMI cable is connected before starting Windows and check the status again.

By the way: what operating system are you using exactly?

  • Max Resolution for external monitor via HDMI on Lenovo Y700?

I hope that someone has experience with external monitors on a computer laptop y700.

    My model is:

    https://www.Amazon.de/Lenovo-i5-6300HQ-quad-core-Prozessor-Betriebssystem/DP/B016QB9HZK/ref=sr_1_2?i...

Is this possible with my laptop. And it is even possible to connect a 4K screen?

Thanks in advance for your help.

So finally, I tried to connect my laptop to a 2560 x 1080 widescreen-resolution-display via HDMI in an electronics store:

THIS MARKET! It is not a problem to run it with 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz. The only problem might be a 4K resolution screen that it only works with 30 Hz, because it's an HDMI 1.4 port.

    Then:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/change-screen-resolution

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

    See you soon.

Have you tried to update the display on your laptop driver? Check the Toshiba site for an update:

In addition, it would be interesting to know if you are running the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?

  • Recommendation for external monitor for 2009 17 "MBP

    Hi all

I would like to get an external monitor for the time where a 17 "display is not quite big enough, but is there a limit on the size I can go? And with a 2009 MBP, would be a 4 k screen work?

The specifications of my MBP is: 17-inch, early 2009, processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M 256 MB graphics card

I'm happy to find an opportunity that A1082 Apple display 23 ", but maybe I would go a little bigger. Used Apple screens are starting to become a bit expensive when there are more than 23 ", so I consider sacrificing the aesthetics of the product and get a monitor not Apple to about 27"... could anyone recommend any specific model?

I will mostly use the screen for the design work (InDesign) and surf, so that I don't do high range editing, I'd still like the colors to be accurate enough.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Qosmio G20: Definition of screen resolution to 1680 x 1050 for external monitor

    Hello

I have a G20 running XP Media Center with a Nvidia GeForce Go 6600. I have used the setting of 1440 x 900 so far on the screen of the laptop but just bought a 22 "monitor and uses instead.

The problem is that the screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 and I can't seem to be able to define it. The only options are 1440 x 900 or 1600 x 1200. Anyone know how I can get the graphics chip at the exit of 1680 x 1050?

    Thank you very much

    Hello, William

I have no experience with that, but some share on this forum I have read similar topic. Before you wait here use advanced search option and 1680 x 1050 as search terms. I'm sure that you will find this topic where a guy explains how to set the resolution to 1680 x 1050 on external monitor.

    Good luck!

Plug into laptop and the monitor turns on and if not detected automatically, and then use the Fn key and F key (will be CRT or a rectangle on the keyface) switches between the laptop screen, laptop and external outside only.  Leave quickly 10 seconds for system key pass.

You may adjust the settings to make sure that the external monitor is the primary instrument and must also adjust the display settings (be normally click with the right button on an empty area of the desktop by clicking on properties or preferences.
  • No reading for external monitor first CC

    Hello all ~

Workplace (and of course, now that I need to color correct), PP CC ceased to export the video to my external monitor.  I tried trashing prefs (hold Shift + Opt at startup) and is not the case.  Looking around, I noticed people with this problem when you use certain cards from BlackMagic, but my monitor is connected directly to the connector Thunderbolt of my MacBook Pro. I have attached my reading settings.

Curiously, when I start my old copy of PP CS6 it reads to my external monitor very well.

I got quite late in the night of the changes that I may have inadvertently started a few keyboard shortcut to change a setting, but I can't imagine what would, or why a trash preferably would not reset it.   Any help much appreciated.  Thank you very much.

    PlaybackPrefs.jpg

Well well, after a lot of poking and insistence I discovered what happened and how to fix it.  If you look at the image below, you can see that there is a row of razor-thin pixel pushing into my external monitor.  So basically what has happened, I resized the window and thought I did drag it completely on my main monitor, but my the program monitor and timeline were never very slightly overlapping on my external monitor.  When I moved them entirely on my primary monitor, the video on the external monitor reappeared.

HOWEVER (!), this raises the question of why this problem is still that I didn't reset my editing workspace, I trash preferences and I did a complete uninstall/reinstall of the CC PP... and still had the same problem.  Shouldn't one of these processes have set things up to where they were supposed to be? Where these remaining settings are stored, and how can we get rid of them if even a complete reinstallation will not do the trick?

Would have saved a lot of time if they had worked as announced.  Happy to be running (and color correction) well and I hope this can help others who may have the same problem.

  • Inspiron 1501 - out for external monitor

Hi I hope someone could help me out, I'm having a problem of output to an external monitor. I have an Inspiron 1501 with a Xpress 1150 ATI card graphics card. I have the latest drivers and calalyst version of the control center.

The problem I have is that I'm putting out a Hanns - G 19 "widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1440 x 900, but I don't have the ability to output to this resolution." The options I get are:

    800 x 600

    1600 x 1200
    1792 x 1344
    1800 x 1440
    1920 x 1080
    1920 x 1200
    1910 x 1440
    2048 x 1536

Anyone know if there is anyway to set a custom resolution?

  • Refresh rate of Quadro NVS 140 for external monitor

I absolutely have to change on my external monitor refresh rate. I dropped the laptop this morning and broke the LCD screen, so I plugged an old maryvonne 17F3. I can't change the refresh rate and it flickers badly. Technical support eMachines stated that the refresh rate is controlled by the video card and that no driver is required for their monitor (as they have not first: smileysurprised :).) So how can I change the refresh rate? I have the latest Dell drivers for my 830 latitude.

    Thank you.

To remove the device driver as a cause as possible, I tried to boot from a boot Unbuntu CD: no chance.
