  When creating a master form / retail, I chose "Edit in detail in tables on the same page."  The form has a "report of the region" to select the list of employees.

  The EMPNO column is filled with "Popup LOV (named LOV)".  It works very well.

  My requirement is, after selecting an employee, I want other retail JOBS & SAL table fields to be populated with the information of the employee for selected EMP table and must be posted immediately.  Is this possible to do?  If not, what other solution available to achieve the same functionality?

  On the change of employee (employee selection) call Ajax via javascript and set the returned salary and job field.

  Here you have two values to return: wages and employment, you can generate json and parse the json in javascript and set the values for the specific field...

  The examples you need are in the links that Anton has provided, which describe in detail how to set up a heterogeneous service (or whatever now calls Oracle 11 g go - they have changed the name), and then you can query the Excel workbook as if each worksheet is a table, with the first line of each leaf with column names.  You can even search the workbook to see what "tables" (sheets) exist and what "column names" (first row labels), use select standard... from queries of type user_tables@excel (once you have configured your heterogeneous service).

  As Marty said well, what is the purpose to do this dynamically, as dynamically created tables will require code created dynamically for use.

  I'll start by explaining my problem, so that you can have a global vision of the problem and perhaps suggest another solution. Problem: I have 2 tables with millions of records. Records are added daily, and so each row in each table has a column of "insertion_date".

  C1 C2 ... C10 insertion_date (type date, ofc)
  

  lines are cleaned according to the insertion_date parameter. This can happen in two ways:

  1 - whenever an application error appears. In this case delete is based on a single day and would be like:

  delete from T1 where insertion_date=##;
  

  in other words remove us the lines added and then restart the program (business logic, can't change it)

  2. every two weeks the data associated with these two weeks are deleted because will be most used:

  delete from T1 where insertion_date between ## and ##; (a two weeks period here)   
  

  Delete is currently very slow: it takes abot 8 minutes just to remove approximately 5 M of records (with the same insertion_date), I can't even imagine the time required to delete records more.

  So, here's my idea!

  I would partition my DB according to the value of insertion_date.

  To remove case 1 I would simply delete the partion associated with this insertion date, to remove scores of cases 2 associates at that interval.

  For the needs of my application at most 15 were leaving are present each time (maybe 20 if I want to keep last at least 5 days of data), so the documented limit of 64000 partitions is not a problem.

  Real problem is that I do not know insertion_date values in advance, so my question: is it possible to automatically create a new partition every time presents itself a new value of insertion_date?

  And please correct me if I'm wrong, if I accomplish partitioning that I wouldn't need to edit above right queries? I know just the faster removal time am I correct?

  No - it isn't bog standard range partitioning partitioning interval

  But perhaps you're citing 9i documentation for a reason?

  As part of HTMLDB_ITEM. This is a parameter of function - it should be a tank. In addition, if you use a recent version of the APEX, you should use the synonym APEX_ITEM reference HTMLDB_ITEM.

• Trigger to run the query when the value of LOV is selected

  I have a form in which I have 2 fields in Master and 4 fields in detail, showing all on the same canvas.
  I put a "execute_query" in when_new_form_instance trigger so that when I open the form it is pre - filled.
  The fields get the values LOVs. I want to run the master block query when the user selects a value in LOV, then in what trigger should I put it.
  I tried in 'when_validate_item' and 'when_list_changed' triggers, but it showed an error.
  So, what should I do?

  So I googled around and found that in the attibutres tables report, I need to change the "LINK" COLUMN so first, I changed "Link to custom target", but the report is so I changed it to "Exclude link Clolumn" again, the report didn't report and I STILL got a blank page with only the tabs.

  I wonder you can not create a report by selecting from multiple tables?

  You can, but in this case, it might be easier to build your report tables that are joined Oracle views and then build your report out of the newly built sight...

  Or wrap a selection around your selection with joins, and then make the where clause on the external selection...

  I have an interactive report.
  In my report, I show the columns below. Let's say the show for months salary of the EMP for this month
  
  EmpID, ename, jan, Feb, mar, Apr, may, June, July, August, Sept, oct, nov, dec
  
  I have two selection lists (to filter the report) in my interface. P1_MONTH and P1_YEAR. These have static LOVs.
  Jan (Display) - 01 (Return)
  (Display) - 02 Feb (Return) and so on.
  
  I am facing problem while hiding under certain conditions the columns.
  For example, if the user selects the month "Mar." Then the report should display
  
  EmpID, ename, jan, Feb, mar
  
  Another example, if the month is "Jun" then
  
  EmpID, ename, jan, Feb, mar, Apr, may, June
  
  So he must hide under certain conditions the columns based on selection.
  I put the conditional 'view' in the column of the report for "expression of the ar-ticle/column value 1 = expression 2'.
  
  P1_MONTH (in the expression 1)
  + 06,07,08,09,10,11,12 (in the expression for the month of June selection 2) +.
  
  But doesn't the show/hide.

  is equivalent to a PL/SQL expression, such as

  :P1_MONTH = '06,07,08,09,10,11,12'
  

  So maybe, select a PL/SQL expression condition and write something like that for the month of March - if I interpret correctly the your needs.

  I wonder if its possible to get the user name of the currently logged in user and pass it as a variable in a select statement used in a dynamic LOV in Oracle AS Portal?
  
  What I'm trying to do is pull all values in a table that corresponds to the current name of user to user on a portal report

  In the search box, I have a LOV field where the user can select the value. Based on this LOV in the search box, tabular column f06 must disable or read-only.

  For example if I select THREE in LOV then only column f06 is expected on the other it must disable. How to get there.
