Suggestions to sort this Gremlin received with gratitude. Startup seems to unfold as a spec, Acer logo appears, circular arrow does the trick then goes opaque screen, but obviously still lit. Cursor still responds, but it's the end of the action.

(1) If you have the recovery media, you can start from there and select troubleshooting - early arrangement - start, then the computer restarts in Mode safe.

or

(2) try to force stop 2 - 3 times by pressing the power button on a black screen with cursor, after several times, Windows will restart in advance Start Option, because it detects that something wrong with the windows because it can not start correctly.
From here, simply select start troubleshooting setting - adjustment of advance-, then the computer restarts in Mode safe.

When in safe mode, uninstall the VGA drivers and restart normally.

If it works, download the latest drivers available for you, VGA and install it.
