E3000 can not see Iomega Minimax HD

I recently bought an E3000 router and most of the time have found that it is much better than my older router.  My problem is with the shared storage option.  When I try to connect my 500 GB of hard drive external Iomega Minimax, the router doesn't.

I can connect my very old Maxtor 3200 (100 GB) and it appears to the right.  Even using the same cable, the router does not recognize the Iomega is connected when I plug.  USB light and the powers of the hard drive to the top, but the router says nothing is there.

I tried the support and received a very short list of the compatible drives (which did not have my Maxtor 3200).

Any ideas?  If I can't find a solution, I think I have to take back to Costco and exchange it, I'm not go out and buy a new external hard drive.

(Mod Note: under the guidance of the compliance of the directive.)

Ah yes, the same link I received technical assistance.  I'm sorry, this product does not support my needs.  I'll have to find another router.
