E6500 controlVault vista professional

I had to reinstall vista Professional (32 bit) on an old latitude E6500.    I had downloaded the last CAB file and all of the devices have been identified either properly by installing or have look for drivers in the cabin unless the Broadcom USH device.  Research, I found that it was controlVault pilot.

ACR by default so that it has not installed so I uninstalled it (got to the point where I get a "new hardware found" notification when I boot) for windows really knows about it.

I downloaded Setup driver controlVault from dell CV_Drv_Setup_R5W65_A10_32bit_ZPE.exe support site.    When I run it, I get an error saying that the wizard was interrupted before control host arch components installer could be completely installed.   There is a check box to view the log of installation and when I discovered that the error says "error 2732. Uninitialized direct Manager. »

Is there something I need to install everything first to get a "Directory Manager '?   I tried to install the vault of diagnostic check and installation also said that it was interrupted before finishing.

Figured it out.   Displays Setup driver needed at least SP1.   When I installed that, it worked.

  • Vista to Vista professional, full update

I just bought a Dell computer brand new and they put the hurt on her windows.  I bought the upgrade and have tried to install it.  After some time I got an error saying that he finished not (don't remember why).  I now try again, but I was wondering if this is common and what is the problem?  I had Windows Vista Home Premium and am trying to load Windows Vista Business Edition full.

There is no such Vista as 'Vista Ultimate Business' operating system.

Vista Home Premium to Vista Business is not an upgrade path. It must do a clean install.

    You have:

    Vista Starter Edition

    Vista Home Basic

    Vista Home Premium

    Vista Business

    Vista Ultimate

    Vista Business

From Home Premium, you can only switch to Vista Ultimate.

To go from Vista Home Premium to Vista Business, it must do a clean install with a full version of Vista Business, NOT a version upgrade of Vista professional.

  • I do do not have the possibility of creating an ad hoc wireless network in vista professional.

I am trying to set up an ad-hoc connection, however I'll add a connection through the connection manager and the options for connection type are available with the exception of ad-hoc.   Is it possible to activate this in vista professional.  My options are currently in the box add a login section are only: Internet, point of access, manual connection, dial-up and VPN.

    Thank you

    Hi hkwinger,

It seems as the hardware is not supported the feature.  Check the model of your wireless adapter and the router, go to the manufacturing site and check see if these models support the functionality of ad hoc network first.

  • Is it possible that I can buy an upgrade to Vista professional for Vista Ultimate?

company from vista upgrade to windows 7 ultimate

I have a PC where Vista Business came pre-installed.  I ignored the offer to upgrade to Windows 7, which was to come out soon.  Now, I need to use the bitlocker feature that is not available on my version of Vista.  It seems that my only option to achieve this functionality is upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate and I need to buy a new license of Windows 7.  Is this correct?  Given that Windows 8 is expected this year there will be an offer for me to upgrade to it at a special rate?  Is it possible that I can buy just an upgrade of Vista professional for Vista Ultimate?  Thank you.

Because Anytime Upgrade is no longer available for Vista, you will need to buy a copy to standard retail or upgrade to Vista Ultimate.  Vista has been on the shelves of retailers for some time, you may need to look on online auction sites.

Remember that Vista Ultimate only adds multilingual, Bitlocker and Extras.  Are you sure that you need?

If you are seen Windows 7 please download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to determine the State of your current software under Windows 7.

Windows 8 is radically different from Vista and Windows 7.  Make sure that you preview before you buy.

My personal choice would be to continue using Vista Business or upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.  Windows 7 Ultimate does not even have Extras.

  • What are the BCD entries to TWO instances of dual boot of Vista professional in TWO separate hard drives?

What are the BCD entries to TWO instances of dual boot of Vista professional in TWO separate hard drives? -Dell Vostro 1710, my wife had to be returned to Dell, I installed its Vostro hard drive in my Dell Vostro 1710 SAME, but I don't get a menu starting double when I turn on my Vostro. (Both Vista Business operating systems are licensed separately).

I would like to start his drive hard so that it looks like 'his' office on 'his' computer.

    Thanks for any advice.

The easiest way is to use the DualBoot Pro.  He has the tools to write the necessary code automatically.  It is excellent for managing the tasks you want to do.

However, you have a potential license problem.  Even if your Dell has the exact code in the BIOS to activate the copy of Windows on the hard drive of your wife, the computer is only allowed for an OEM copy.  If Dell is back after repairs then you should be OK once you have turned on the hard disk in his computer of your wife. You can delete the entry of additional start with DualBoot Pro menu,

  • can upgrade you vista Home premium to vista professional in order to install windows 7 Professional upgrade?

Husband bought the windows 7 Professional upgrade.  Of course when it did not work and the message was to do a "clean install", we both had type light headed as we thought it that will take all day and probably does not work smoothly since is the most "literate" computer.  I did some internet research and according to microsoft, windows vista business upgrade to windows 7 Professional is an upgrade and not a clean install.  Is it useful to try and uprade my 64-bit edition windows Home premium windows vista professional in order to upgrade to windows 7 Professional?  I don't think we can get our money back because the packaging is open or I would say just that we trade it for ultimate.  If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.  Also I don't know even where to download vista business or haow only as much as it would cost.  Thanks in advance.

N ° there is no way to go from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional OR Vista business without what you call a 'clean install', so there is no point in spending money to upgrade to Home Premium to business before the upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.  Upgrade Vista Home Premium only allowed on-site is ultimate.

Use Windows Easy Transfer to keep your files and settings.  Then, start the computer with the Windows 7 dvd installation and moving forward.  Do not remove Vista.  Windows 7 upgrade installation should detect a copy installed Windows so that you can use the upgrade product key.  Once you reach the installation type selection screen, you will see the upgrade option is grayed out.  Choose the custom option to continue.

If you want to do a clean install, you can use the tools on the installation type selection screen (until you click on custom) to reformat, etc., but this is not necessary if you don't mind remove the old Windows folder later.  If you start with a blank hard drive your upgrade license will be a problem then don't attempt is not a clean install of the old way.

  • Clean installation of windows vista Professional (copy provided by msdn)

    Hello

I have some old windows XP SP2 and sys. specs are Intel 3 Ghz processor and 2 GB of ram
The hard drive is only 40 GB
I'm upgrading my computer (only the operating system) and you want to install the copy of windows vista business - provided by MSDN
    Here's the problem
I've logged into my account and have a free copy, so when I try to download it through me the 4 step procedure and wants to be stored (downloaded) directly online in the TEMP FOLDER.
-> (download, authorization, unpacking and installation processes).
I want to do a clean install of VISTA professional AND would like to get rid of windows XP SP2.
How would do this, because I wonder to execute a procedure of the 4 step (see arrow above).
    Would appreciate suggestions and help.
    Thank you
    MT

    Hello mt4448,

MSDN software are downloaded as ISO files (finally they do when I download them). The ISO must be burned on a DVD and then it is simply a case of starting your PC, insert the DVD into your DVD drive and then restarting the PC again. You do not want to check that your DVD player is your first boot drive if the installation does not start.

Take a look at this link from my Web site: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/install_windows_vista.htm

Also visit this link to change the priority of the disc: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_enable_cdrom_support_i.htm

If you have a modern PC 2 to 3 years already, the CD/DVD drive should be set as first boot option.

  • Windows vista professional dvd

Well I recently have key windows vista business at my school, but they were not able to get an instalation dvd disc to install and use my activation key I wonder how can I get the windows vista professional dvd to install vista on my computer, I was looking everywhere just can find it if anyone has information on how I could do to get a dvd or an iso even is it you Please let me know you thank you very much for the help

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
