ea6300, RIP...

Fifteen months after the purchase, has always worked as advertised and has gone through fairly heavy use with media server traffic, day after day. Aside from a few minor nitpicking, I was happy with it and do not anticipate replacement anytime soon...

The wired ethernet still works, so not ready to bury him, but Wireless N is gone, and 5 GHz band is gone, too weak signals to connect with any device, even in the same room. Tried the reset, no go... It's done.

We had a hot summer here, in our home, Records for my city. I have the ea6300 mounted vertically on a wall with a gap of 2 cm below for fair ventilation but took no extra precautions with it on the heat. It worked without complaint or stumble through many weeks of all about 85-90 in the room. Chess came the last hot summer days. No warning, no error message... It is now just a zombie.

I ordered a new router, it (wireless-g and ethernet) continuing in the meantime. Then we will be sitting on a computer laptop cooler 24/7. .. We use our hard, but I think it would have lasted a little longer I had kept this cooler. I think with 20-20 hindsight that he could better get just wifi by another full unit...

Stay cool, everyone.

Well... it's embarrassing. After resetting the thing once, I decided oh well, wouldn't hurt to try once again, it is intended to be a Clipboard soon anyway...

Reset and reconfigured once again, but anyway... it worked! In the meantime, I ordered and installed an ea6900 refurbished which gives me no drama whatsoever, so it remains standing and the ea6300 will be the backup device.

  • iTunes Ripping from CD to NAS

Hi there, apologies as I'm sure this has been answered in some form several times but I can't find too specific a question (s). I have a MacBook (OSX) and a DLINK NAS talk to one another. I would like to ship ripping my CD collection, so I have digital versions available, allowing me to use a number of services (iTunes, Sonos etc.), with files on the NAS itself.

What setting should I before I start?

    1. Change iTunes to MP3 format extraction
    2. ITunes library update location on NAS where ripped files will be made available
    3. Configure iTunes to watch the entire where my audio files will be, or create a separate folder "library only" and somehow configure if it has a few shortcuts to real files?
    4. Anything else?

In short, I want to make sure I'll keep that a copy of the file to save space as well assume that I need to extract the files directly on the NAS. Then iTunes media library should just look at these files, so there is no drop iTunes and double files?

I have probably explains this very badly indeed but eager to make sure that I'm going on the right foot and make a beautiful torn library located on my NAS, but just once!

    Thanks in advance!

Everyone likes the idea of SIN, Sonos, etc., but in reality, iTunes and NAS don't like each other and can cause unexpected problems. Not always, but when it happens, you'll be one very unhappy announcement back here.

The format to which tear you depends on the size of the file to which you are ripping applications are you your other devices and to a certain extent.  For speeds of 128 k or less get you better quality of AAFC.

If you continue to use the SIN, you can move the entire library to it.  Copy the entire folder iTunes from iTunes to the NAS, then launch iTunes while holding down the option/alt key and select the iTunes Library.itl file in the folder on the NAS.  The NAS will have to be awake and active before launching iTunes or iTunes will forget the location and you will need to reset it.

From this moment the only things stored on your computer will be the backups of the iPhone and some files in iTunes preferences.

Make sure that you keep backups of the library on the NAS.  We can one day you'll start things and discover all your track lists point to very different files and you will LOVE your backup at this stage because dealing with by other means will require 30 positions.

  • Recommendation of the DVD ripping software

Hello, can anyone recommend a good software for Ripping of DVDs to create high quality for editing files? I can pay for the software if it is not free software.

    Thank you!

It is a dubious subject on communities of support. Ripping software is necessary for DVDs with copy protection and providing advice on the subject to bypass the copy protection is prohibited on the forums because it is involved in illegal activity and probably get this topic disappear completely.

For non-protected copy DVD home simply drag the files on your computer.

  • Ripped the CD now MPEG not AAC.

I rip my CD via iTunes and the AAC encoder [iTunes more]. Recently, I moved my music from one computer to another, now when I watch the news of track ripped from CD it says it's an MPEG audio file instead of an AAC audio file [it 100% used to say of AAC audio file]. The songs still say they are encoded with iTunes.

The same happened also to some, not all of the securities purchased iTunes. Instead of saying of the purchased AAC audio file, now it says MPEG audio file, but there again the date when I bought the titles & the 256vbr fixed.

When I go into Windows Explorer and find the actual files of the song he always says also that aren't files M4A or MPEG-4, MP3 or MPEG.

The only thing different on this computer, it's that the displaced tracks are now, not in the music from iTunes folder they are in their own self contained folder [I prefer this way. It helps me to better sort]

In fact, none of that bothers me, but I'm worried, I somehow their converted without knowing they have now lost a sound quality. A response would be appreciated.

    Thank you, Randy.

  • ITunes is will work with the CDs/files not ripped/uploaded via iTunes?

Does anyone know if iTunes game work with CD/files not ripped/uploaded via iTunes?

My main purpose for the purchase of the service would be to get versions without loss of quality to everything that I ripped as MP3 back in the day, rather than having to re - rip everything.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Yes.

    http://www.Apple.com/iTunes/iTunes-match/

If iTunes is not the music, it will upload your file. The only reason why it wouldn't, that is if the file is damaged. iTunes will tell you if it is unable to download a specific file.

  • iTunes does not recognize the ripped CD

I recently had to wipe the hard drive of my iMac and start over. All back to normal. However, now iTunes doesn't recognize all ripped CDs, I did on this same computer with iTunes. I have a two compilations of commercial CD as well as those made in digitized LPs. All content - names of tracks, lengths, album art - was read by iTunes before 'erased '. Now: nothing. I tried to uninstall iTunes 11 12 and reinstalling, nothing. In addition, I can't find any other program that can read data from the CD. What can I do to import these CDs and find their metadata?

Since your post I understand these were compilation CD or CD of digitized LPs all the facts and burned by you.  iTunes will remember the content of the CD on the computer that made the combustion. This information is not actually on the CD (unless you said iTunes to save it as CD-text format which iTunes itself cannot read directly).  This registers in a special folder on the computer that has apparently lost when wipe you your drive.  For commercial CD iTunes uses the Gracenote database to assign information of CD based on the characteristic footprint track of the CD, but your being elements, will not be in the Gracenote database (not even your LPs which must be the time right as the CD version).

  • Incomplete, ripping CD s for iMac/iTunes

I have found 100 + purchased on CD not included in my library. In the past when try to rip to iTunes info relating to the title, artist and title of the song automatically transferred.  There is a new Apple desk top (OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 version) with the current version of iTunes(version 12.3.2.35) that my previous product from Apple that the majority of my library was taken from. This desk top doesn't have a built in CD, so I plugged a laptop it is a CD - RW 6 x 4 x 6. It will transfer music, but no other information appears in iTunes. In my preferences, I identified that import info from internet was active.  I am looking for help in the transfer of music from discs pre-recorded when torn my iTunes synchronization.

If you don't see information about the song, then either your computer is not connected to the internet when you imported the songs from a CD, or they are not in the database Gracenote media (what iTunes uses to search for information of artisit/song).

See below: If you do not see the song information

    Hi guys

Whenever I insert a music CD to listen to the music, the laptop decides to extract the music from my library. I tried to disable this in the box options but it doesn't seem to matter which it is configured, it STILL rips music to the library. I'm absolutely not EVERY CD, I never listen to, be stored on my laptop. I wish I could choose the tracks I rip to my laptop.

Anyone know where am wrong me or is this another gremlin of VIsta? Any help would be appreciated

    Hi mate,

Can I ask what software you use for listening music? Do you mean Windows Media Player?
If Yes, make sure you use the most recent and heartbreaking version can be disabled in the options. Check again!

In addition, I use VLC media player to listen to music. It's really good alternative program and you should test it too.
