How RIP dvd in FCP

How do I import/rip a dvd to FCPX? What is the best software for this. Free or paid software.

IF the disk is not protected against copy you can use MPEG Streamclip. Shou Handbrake too but gives Streamclip you more options.

    Hey stevpw65,

It is not possible to rip DVD using Windows Media Player. You must use a program designed to legally to copy files from a DVD to a computer.

Unlike the DVD, you can rip a CD using the player. Information is available here.

  • DVD Ripper - I want to know how the DVD in my computer as a CD ripper.

Hi, I want to know how the DVD in my computer as a CD ripper.

    Very well!

First of all this information works the DVD you own and varies depending on what version of Windows you are running.
If you need instructions for Vista or XP let me know, I'll give you instructions for Windows 7 (any version).

Initially to create a library called movies

    1. open your library view and right-click on the empty space.
    2. click on new-> library
    3. name your library. I called my own films so is easy to locate
    4. open your new library by double clicking on the icon
    5. click on include a folder, so a browse box appears
6 navigate on your way to the user of the rot. (This folder should contain my music, my documents etc.)
    7. right click and select new-> folder.
8 call this record movies or DVD, then click on include the folder in the box go.

    The library has created...

To rip the DVD on your computer, I recommend a program called DVD Shrink. It allows to create copies compressed your DVDs while retaining the structure of the menu, special features, etc. and you can reduce an image DVD at 40% of its original size.

You'll need to hunt this software online because there are many people who speak but does not host the file.

Once you have ripped the DVD Shrink it helps in a folder in your C:\ drive normally will be called the same as the DVD.

Move this file into your movie library and hey presto your first movie.

You can then add this wo Windows Media Center Library using the add folder function and watch your dvd without going through the DVD in the drive.

If you need further instructions on DVDShrink let me know and I'll try to implement this step by step.

  • Satellite P300-22 how many DVD should I prepaire 4 creating recovery DVDs

I'm french too, so don't be afraid of my mistakes 'no more! '

I have a Toshiba Satellite P 300, and I want to create a recovery DVD.
How many DVDs to 4.7 GB / by, if I prepaire for this creation?

    Thank you
    in fact, I have a Toshiba P300-22F,
There is a hard drive failure, because I changed the C: partition size
I have to restore the player to factory default state using the recovery DVD,
but I don't create this DVD.

    One of my friends has a model Toshiba P300 - 1 5.
so I try to create this DVD form his computer...

    Hello

At first I want to give you advice on DVD, you must use. For a successful recovery creation DVD use DVD-R virgins. I created several media recovery on the models of different laptops, with DVD-R media always worked.

On the market there are several portable Satellite and Satellite Pro P300 and image is not the same for each of them.
    Just for info:
-Satellite P300-1GL I needed a blank media only, but
-for Satellite Pro P300-149 I needed two of them

So I think that you need one. When you start 'Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator' and choose the media you want to use it, you will be informed how many of them do you need.

    Good bye

  • How to burn a FCP project on dvd

I have FCP on a macbook air and I worked on a documentary for about 6 months and I had constant problems do not have enough space on my hard drive to work on it. I have an external hard drive, and after having put my library on it, I could finish my documentary which takes 56 minutes. Now, I have a different problem trying to get my project to a dvd. If I export my project as a dvd it takes a few hours and once it gets to 66% make stops and my computer gets really hot, and she never exported. My computer tells me that I don't have enough room for export to dvd. I am able to export it as a master file on my desktop and it tells me that the file has 29,48 GB so I don't know how to put it on a dvd because the largest gas dvd is only like 8 GB. Any suggestions?

The master file can not be converted into a DVD without using another program to create DVD.

Write you may not have enough free space on the disk your MBA for Final Cut system all temporary files that it needs to encode and create the DVD.

If you have about 20 GB of free, move a sufficient amount of files off the drive to an external drive to reach this minimum.

If you have a background image for your DVD menu, resize it so that it is not bigger than 720 X 480. This resizing can be done in preview,

    Good luck.

  • Creating a DVD of FCP 10.2.3

I have a new iMax 27 without a DVD slot. I know that DVDs are endangered but I need to share some works that I have and with a max of 2.5 MB 'broadband' streaming is not an option that my project is more than 65 GB. How others got on and what path they took the selection of actions / export of FCPX to create a DVD. Ideally, I'd still use iDVD I have on another computer, because the models are so good in iDVD

You can export from FCP direct X on DVD: file-> sharing-> DVD. It's a pretty basic DVD, without all the themes and iDVD stuff, but it works.

    =================================================================

This problem may be caused by the presence of too many CD/DVD programs competing for resources,
especially by these programs that run at startup.

    If necessary:

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.
