  I have a rather strange problem: I can not disable the WiFi using Fn + F8 module.

  It happens after reinstalling Windows. I installed Windows 7 Pro SP1 x 64 (MSDNAA). I installed the driver Broadcom WLAN, then Toshiba Value added package and Bluetooth Stack from Toshiba Web site.

  When I press Fn + F8 there is only a Bluetooth icon, I can enable and disable. And there is no WiFi icon.
  Wireless network card is listed in the Device Manager, it works.

  Hmm generally the FN + F8 should switch on / off the Wlan correctly.
  Maybe the WLan driver must be installed again even if the wireless network adapter is already visible in Device Manager.

  Thank you.  I'll do it and change my Windows Update settings.  BUT, FYI, in an act even more incredible, the same night I posted my question here, my computer was said upload, and I was still in place at 03:00 (when Windows is set to d/l and install updates).  I went to the kitchen for a bit and returned to my computer to find a countdown - he downloaded updates and "will re-start in 7 minutes" or so and counting down...   As-i crossed all the parameters of the CCC (the suite software amd vid card). the only color/quality setting I use is deinterlacing with drop-down auto-detection. pixel format is set to RGB 4:4:4 limited. I have active treatment of ITC (will try not disabled, no idea what it affects). I use manual detection of displays... no setting under "desktop management", "my digital flat screens", and "video" seems to do anythign with dimming screen.

  Decided to give the full answer on this point Ubuntu system and it works fine.
  In a terminal, run the command: sudo/usr/sbin/gdmsetup

  This will bring up the gdm gui and there you can disable auto login and the login timed.

  (3) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

  (4) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

  (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available.

  (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).
