I see my and have access to my pc windows 7 from my xp pc but for some reason any simple transfer may not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

LancerDad34,

You use Windows Easy Transfer to PC XP download from internet or you meet the PC Windows 7 create the program for PC XP? I saw that the having the PC Windows 7 create the WET can sometimes solve these problems of network.
Also make sure that any firewalls or antivirus you have installed are disabled.
I hope this helps!

I replaced the drive in my Dell d830.  I gathered my files on the external hard drive.  When I run easy transfer on "new computer", it does not recognize the file in the box go.  I can see it on the disk, but it does not load.  Help?

No, easy transfer does not have XP to XP.

Is the old hard drive available and functional?

Have you ever used Windows Easy Transfer to copy the files to your external drive?

If you used easy transfer AND your original drive is no longer available (or dead), you may be able to recover the data, but there is no guarantee.

Microsoft technical support may be able to help--for a fee.  Alternatively, you can Google MigRecover Utility.  However, I understand that there are different versions of the file creates MIG Windows Easy Transfer, but this requires different versions of the tool (I think USMT4 is for the version of Windows 7 to WET and USMT3 for the version of Vista, but I don't know for you).

Sorry, I have more new and good luck.

PS Si the old drive is not actually dead, your best bet is probably to buy a USB or FireWire external drive box and copy the data directly.

  • We made an update on all the pc company and going from XP to 7. Easy transfer does not seem to see computers that aren't on the same network segment.

Try using the simple transfer of transfer from old pc (XP) user profiles to their new pc (7). Easy transfer does not seem to see through switches. If I have 2 machines in different parts of the plant the application will not be the handshake. What I am doing wrong?

Nothing.  The 'old' and 'new' computers must be on the same subnet.  You can use the intermediate storage.

Transfer files and settings with Windows Easy Transfer in Windows 8

Windows easy transfer supports several methods to transfer your files and settings.
You can use Windows easy transfer to transfer information to a computer running Windows 8 computers with one of the following operating systems:
    • Windows 8
    • Windows 7
    • Windows Vista
    • Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Service Pack 3 (SP3)
NOTE: Windows Easy Transfer cannot transfer files between a 64-bit version of Windows and a 32-bit version of Windows. Instead, the files must be transferred manually using external storage devices. To find the version of Windows on your computer, see the is the Version on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit Windows
    ? support document.
Step 1: Determine the best method of transfer

When you transfer files between Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 computers, choose a method that works on both computers. Windows easy transfer supports the following transfer methods:
    • External hard drive or USB flash drive: to use a USB flash drive, you need a USB port on each computer. If you use an external hard drive, it must be compatible with both computers.
    • Easy transfer cable: you need a special USB cable designed to work with Windows 8 and Windows Easy Transfer and a USB port on each computer. If you don't have an easy transfer cable, you can order one online or get one at an electronics store. The easy transfer cable is supported on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers.
NOTE standard USB cable: A cannot be used to transfer files and settings between computers.

    • Network: both computers must be connected to the same cable or wireless network and both computers must be able to share files and folders.

To decide which method to use, consider the amount of information you will sit. If you are transferring everything from all users on the computer, or all of your user account files, an easy transfer cable, external hard drive or a network works well. If you transfer only a few files or folders, a USB works well.
Step 2: Open Windows Easy Transfer on the new computer in Windows 8.1

Open Outlook gives an error message the *.pst file is not found and none of the e-mail settings are present. Also, IE favourites did not import and lack. Hi RobertTaylor0801,

You can try to transfer the files again from the flash drive and check if the files .pst Outlook and IE favorite folders are get imported.

    • Homestead sitebuilder does not see internet connection under Windows Vista

Recently, I switched from Verizon internet home (very bad product) Qwest's high-speed wireless. No problem. However, I discovered that I have a problem with vista.

First of all, microsoft updates would not download at all. I eliminated the firewall and done everything I could think and one day (had vista sp 1...) Yes, only had not updated in a while) it switched to automatic updates. Then it worked fine.

My second problem is with my website building program. It is not the internet connection. If I have power of Attorney, the internet connection test is fine. I have no problem with my internet. I can get online every time that and fast. However, it is curious that my homestead sitebuilder program does not recognize. So I uninstalled the sitebuilder and tried to reinstall a clean install. The installation wizard starts and installs the first part, I hit then, and suddenly, I get a message error "Sitebuilder has stopped working; try to find a solution", in which he can never find the solution. So, I go to the site of the farm and download the zip file. I am able to install sitebuilder by these means, but then it takes forever to load on vista and never find the internet connection.

Someone at - it solutions? It is a program that I use quite often and now I can only update online that allows me a limited capacity. BTW... I use firefox for my browser. Homestead accepts only the browser.

      Solutions?

      Hello

You may need to contact the support for the site builder from homestead to reinstall.

Also contact Qwest High Speed Internet connection to inquire the matter with an Internet connection.

Satellite A300 easy (key) does not...
I have recently upgraded my Vista SP1 to SP2 (do not know if this is the problem, but I'm pretty sure that's not)

Yesterday, I discovered that my easy keys no longer work. Lights are out, when I press the keys, the light comes on and goes off again as they do normally, but no reaction on my screen (can not turn on any light without restarting my computer and select turned ON manually cannot transform media of windows opened by the touch and play the key do not work).

Is it supposed to be a driver or something for this?

      Sorry for the bad English...

      Hello!

A few days ago, I had the same problem on my laptop Qosmio. Lighting keys stopped working after installing some updates and the 3rd application programs the keys no longer works and also the lighting.
At the end of the story, I had to reinstall Windows :(

In any case, now, you should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. He controls these buttons that you want to say and you can find it on the Toshiba site:
      http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before installing you need to remove the old version first, restart the computer, clean up your Windows with CCleaner for example, restart again and then install the new VAP.

      Hello world

      I have 2 Satellite Pro 4340, running Win2K, SP4. I bought a card PCMCIA 10 / 100MB of Ultron (more or less no name :-))

When you insert the card, Win2k recognizes the card, but when the I plug the network cable, it does not recognize the connection. Cable is fine. It seems there is no power on the PCMCIA card. I read on some forums that there is a problem with the Topic100 Card Bus driver and voltage. I see that many people have the problem but not where to find the driver for the problem :-/ I couldn't find a driver on toshiba support site. A

ll have an idea, or better a link where I can download this driver? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance for your help, support and answers.
      Corey

If this card needs a driver you will not find it on the download page of manufacturer of portable. You must check the card producer site.

As you know in the world of computers, it has set different standards. Produced very often cheap are not designed for these standards, and you can have different problems. I recommend you to use high quality products.

    • Problem with wireless - Vista Network and Sharing Center does not recognize my connection!

I use the Home Visa software and my network and sharing Center does not recognize my connection but I can access the internet without any problem. Previously, I was using a wireless router Linksys with an old box of AT & T internet with no problems. The problems started after I updated my AT & T internet box that made obsolete the linksys router and now the network share does not connect. I just have the problem of getting the network and sharing device recognizing that I am actually connected to a wireless network. I can't use my printer or share files with other people. I can't get my wireless printer to work if I restart my computer and I have the documents I want printed already sent to the printer. Original title: Troubleshooting my my wireless conecction and it say the remote device or resource does not accept the connection

      Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community. This problem can occur because of incorrect settings of Internet Explorer. Initially, make sure you have Internet Explorer as web browser by default on the computer, refer to this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-default-programs#1TC=windows-7

Research I found that this problem can be solved by resetting the Internet Explorer settings. Try the following steps:

      1. Press the logo Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.

      2. Type inetcpl.cpl in the Run dialog box, press enter.

      3. Now click on the Advanced tab , and then click reset.

      4. Click apply , then ok.

Note: Resetting Internet Explorer settings is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and cannot be recovered.

    • The remote device or resource does not accept the connection

I have a desktop computer Windows 7 connected to my router via an ethernet cable, but when I try to go to a website on Google Chrome as Google.ca, loading the page forever without even showing the page. Finally after a long wait, it finally says that the Web page is not available. I tried to go to the Web sites by using Internet Explorer, but occurs the same result. I tried to troubleshoot the problem and it "the remote device or resource does not accept the connection" is detected, but does not set automatically. I have a wireless printer connected to my router which is online and works very well. I can even connect to my router page. But still no access to Web pages don't like my outlook.com and etc. Sometimes a go open the network and sharing Center to change the settings of the card and disable the wired ethernet only to activate it again. It works only a few times, and it's really frustrating, because it is the only computer that does not connect to the internet, even with a ethernet cable. Please find a solution as soon as possible. Thank you.
