  • EBS 11.5.9 to 12.1.1 upgrade

    Hello

We are in the process of up-gradation of ebs 11.5.9 to 12.1.1 on solaris 9. our database is 9.2.0.8. Mentioned in the document of high-gradation of oracle, we can pass directly to EBS 11.5.9 base to 12.1.1 and also mentioned to upgrade the database to 10.2.0.2 atleast, for this we must apply cu2 on 11.5.9.

can upgrade us oracle 9.2.0.8 for 11.1.0.7 database directly.
as we have just completed rapidwiz installation phase.

can anyone provide clear DB 9.2.0.8 to 11.1.0.7 upgrade steps during the high-gradation of EBS 11.5.9 to 12.1.1

    Thank you
    Jean Philippe

According to the upgrade doc (guidelines preparation of database for an E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Upgrade [761570.1 ID]), the upgrade paths that are available are (A path or path B), then I think you need to upgrade to 10 gr 2 as stated in the RFSO. Once you have completed the update of R12, you can improve the R12 to 11 GR 1 material/11 GR 2.

    Thank you

  • SPECIAL PATCH POST APPLY THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR 14825718

    Hello

    EBS r12.1.3
    OS oul5x64
    DB 11.2.0.3

I apply this hotfix # 14825718 as part of the jre update 7
SPECIAL POST PATCH to APPLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION Server

    He asked
    1. go to the WEB - INF formsapp folder
    #
    # cd $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/applications/formsapp/formsweb/WEB-INF
    #
    # 2. Backup orion - web.xml and web.xml files.
    #
    # cp orion - web.xml $ORACLE_HOME/jlib/orion-web.xml_pre14825718
    # cp $ORACLE_HOME/jlib/web.xml_pre14825718 web.xml

I don't have the WEB - INF directory but you do not have these orion - web.xml and web.xml files in my CA.
and as db console on this ebs Tier is not available.

Please tell us what to do with this installation of the fix post.
    Thanks in advance.
    Concerning

These steps are in accordance with article 'SPECIAL POST PATCH APPLY INSTRUCTIONS for APPLICATION SERVER' and you don't need to follow them here - you can connect a sR and confirm the same with Oracle support.

  • Plan of 10gr 2 don't reproduce at 11 GR 2 - try to understand why

Just did an upgrade to 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.4 (AIX) to our EBS environment.  Especially things were going pretty well, but have a boring SQL degradation which didn't fall not by our SPA tests.  Tried to create a base to Plan the gr 10, 2 SQL tuning together we created beforehand, but the tuning advisor says that's not a reproducible (plan 3341830380 below).

    snap_20151125_024207.jpg

I compared each table / index used in the query and have confirmed that there is no change TABLE/INDEX (slight possibility since there are quite a few patches interop EBS that had to be applied for the upgrade).  Consultant recommended setting a profile, but that did not help. I have a gr 10, 2 env prevail, so I used to generate an outline stored and then copied the outline to the system 11 GR 2.  We confirmed he used the outline, but the plan was always different and suboptimal (> 100 s).  Then migrated the outline of a basic SQL, but always different/suboptimal plan.  Then tried to extract the section SKETCH of the plan 10 gr 2 use it to create a manual SQL profile with the IMPORT_SQL_PROFILE procedure, but also, which did not help (he used the profile, but still suboptimal plan).   Also tried to set optimizer_features_enabled = 10.2.0.4 but still no effect.  The SQL is quite complex with a view embedded (this is EBS) 10053 trace is huge and beyond my ability to analyze.  I know there must be something in the environment/params/structure that has changed so that the original plan cannot be used, but I was not able to understand.

    Any help would be appreciated.

So, I was in the middle of writing an answer both of your responses when I found my problem.  I was writing how I tried to manually create a SQL profile that had the suspicion on the 10.2.0.4 WF_LOCAL_USER_ROLES contour (since this is where the suboptimal plan 11.2 spends it's time (it's using a different index)), when I noticed as the 11.2.0.4 plan accesses the WF_USER_ROLE_ASSIGNMENTS table (or index it is anyway) and the 10.2.0.4 plan does not work (it accesses WF_LOCAL_ROLES).  First thought that maybe 11.2 a get rid of a useless, but then realized join the simplest answer.  A view has changed.   When I compared the schema objects, I only looked at tables and index, I forgot to watch the views (DOH!).  It turns out that one patch interop EBS has changed the definition of one of the FND views to refer to different tables.   Then, of course, 11 2 GR system cannot reproduce the plan of 10.2.

So, now I just have to treat it as a more conventional cannot change the tuning exercise code (hopefully that won't have another post here for that...)

Thanks for the reboot to my thoughts on this guy!

  • Upgrade 12.1.1 to 12.1.3

    Hello

Earlier, I had installed Oracle EBS 12.1.1 with database costs and upgraded to 12.1.3.

Now I have to upgrade an existing instance of a client, there are a lot of modules and a lot of customization.

I want to know what steps needs to be done here when modules are implemented, and a lot of customization.

How is it different from my previous update.

    Please guide.

    Thanks in advance.

    Patricia

The technical upgrade steps will be similar - you will need to follow the 12.1.3 README - https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/ebs_1213_available

  • mechanism between DB and application server

    Hello

Currently I have installed R12.1.3 ebs and DB under 11.1.0.7 upgrade to 11.2.0.2.
When upgrading the database server, I have a question how application server detects the database server.
The question may seem a little silly, but that's how it is. :)
For example, when DB is upgraded, upgrade, configuration and post activities are explained on side DB in the documents.
But then, how the database server to find application after the installation of new DB?
It works based on the updated file listener only...?
Or is there a configuration that must be done application server side as well after the DB is upgraded?

Can someone help with my questions...?

    Thank you

    Hello
    > It works based on the updated file listener only...?
Definitely, it will use the earpiece to connect with the db.

During the upgrade, you create appsutl.zip and copy this to the level of the database and run the automatic configuration service. It's that time where the link is established.

    Thank you

  • 11.5.9 to R12 - database upgrade path Direct11g

    Hello

We are organizing our 11.5.9 to R12 upgrade CU2. The current version of RDBMS is 9.2.0.4.

    We were able to

    A.
go directly to 11g of 9.2.0.4 before the upgrade, and then apply the R12 upgrade,

    or

    B
do we not have to go to first, 10.2.0.2
    R12 upgrade
then move the RDBMS to 11g?

I am aware there is no interoperability between CU2 11.5.9 and 11g but we would not be using the / system access, we would continue directly with the R12 upgrade

All the notes I've seen keep making reference to the need to be on, at least 10.2.0.2 If the RDBMS 9, nothing mentions going straight to 11g.

Is there any control in the upgrade of the R12 which checks the version 11.5.9 CU2 then the RDBMS should be 10g?

    Thank you

  • Clone app and/or DBtier ebs silencer

    Hi all

Clone us ebs 12.1.3 several times and I would like to know any docs or notes Oracle which allow us to make the clone (AP or DB)

silently, we create an answer file and it will read this file for all applications fast.

We use the ebs 12.1.3 on OUL6x64

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

If the condition is satisfied that it does not change to the source system, and only then, you can postclone using the contextfile from the old target environment, which will either reduce or eliminate the amount of questions. Discover the special sections in the RapidCloning document for this.

In addition, there are a lot of people ask similar questions, but the whole procedure of cloning has always had too many manual steps.
