EBS upgrade steps

Hello

We are currently on this configuration:

Apps version: 11.5.10.2

Database: 10.2.0.5

Currently, the database is located in the same server as the admin on 32-bit node, we seek to upgrade to 11g on 64-bit database and then down the road make a gesture for R12 for applications.

What would be the best way to do it?

We are currently reflecting on practice:

Updated version 1-release 10g 32B to 11g, as well as to install the patches to applications for interoperability

2 clone to 64B to another server using rman, point to the new database apps

I have been through documents such as interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11 g 2 (11.2.0).) (Doc ID 881505.1) but I wanted to know your experts, is there a better way to do?

Greetings,

NACEUR

You must upgrade the database on the server of databases existing in 11.2.0.4- https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/11_2_0_4_database

Then follow the steps of (using Oracle EBS with a layer of database Configuration from Split on 11 GR 2 (Doc ID 946413.1)), database (Option A) migration Linux 32 bit for Linux x 86-64 - because the layer of applications 11i is not certified on Linux 64 - bit (see frequently asked Questions: Oracle E-Business Suite Support on x 86-64 (Doc ID 343917.1) for more details).

Thank you

Hussein

I read all the other posts I could find on this topic, but I'm leaving ESX 4 - 4.1 and I'm following the steps on http://v-reality.info/2010/07/esx-host-upgrade-to-4-1-using-esxupdate/.

I have already run the preupgrade package and from what I've read http://communities.vmware.com/message/1750003, it is very probably the problem.  How do I get the preupgrade package?

    Any help would be appreciated.

To resolve this problem, run the command 'ldconfig' in the service console and try to run again the esxupdate.  -wt

  • EBS 11.5.9 to 12.1.1 upgrade

    Hello

We are in the process of up-gradation of ebs 11.5.9 to 12.1.1 on solaris 9. our database is 9.2.0.8. Mentioned in the document of high-gradation of oracle, we can pass directly to EBS 11.5.9 base to 12.1.1 and also mentioned to upgrade the database to 10.2.0.2 atleast, for this we must apply cu2 on 11.5.9.

can upgrade us oracle 9.2.0.8 for 11.1.0.7 database directly.
as we have just completed rapidwiz installation phase.

can anyone provide clear DB 9.2.0.8 to 11.1.0.7 upgrade steps during the high-gradation of EBS 11.5.9 to 12.1.1

    Thank you
    Jean Philippe

According to the upgrade doc (guidelines preparation of database for an E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Upgrade [761570.1 ID]), the upgrade paths that are available are (A path or path B), then I think you need to upgrade to 10 gr 2 as stated in the RFSO. Once you have completed the update of R12, you can improve the R12 to 11 GR 1 material/11 GR 2.

    Thank you
    Hussein

  • the database upgrade 9.2.0.5 to 10.2.0.3 on EBS 11.5.10.2

    Hello

Are there docs related to the upgrade of database 9.2.0.5 to 10.2.0.3 on EBS 11.5.10.2

the main problem is running oracle applications after the upgrade, what steps should I follow after database upgrade

    Concerning

    Moinet

For upgrades of database in general, I strongly suggest you start with Oracle 10 g, companion of upgrade, which is available on Metalink note 466181.1:

    https://MetaLink.Oracle.com/MetaLink/PLSQL/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=not&P_ID=466181.1

For the side EBS, I suggest you watch the wizard of Maintenance EBS, which is Metalink Note 215527.1

    https://MetaLink.Oracle.com/MetaLink/PLSQL/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=not&P_ID=215527.1

It is a useful tool that will help you make sure you do only and exactly the steps you need to follow in an EBS upgrade scenario (including upgrades of RDBMS in an Oracle Applications environment).

  • upgrade 11i - step: apply the latest patches of product (required)

    Hello

I'm in the process of upgrading 11.5.9 (DB 9.2.0.4) to 12.1.1 (DB 10.2.0.5).

As part of the upgrade steps in the document entitled * "Oracle® E-Business Suite Upgrade Guide Release 11i to 12.1.1 Ref. / E16342-04 / August 2010" *, I was directed to apply the last product rivierra. Chapter 3, article 5.

I downloaded the latest version of the Oracle patchsets.sh and it ran with the following parameters:

    patchsets.sh connect = apps / < apps_password > available = metalink

This tool has generated a bunch of reports including one called "Report.txt" and "Report_R12.txt".

Many of these patches should I download and ask to be able to continue the update?

    Sinan,

I guess I'm not sure if families and patchsets packs can be substitutes for each other.

Sorry, but I'm really confused with your answers.

You're talking about what a family pack?

    What patchsets you speak?

For both, please mention the name of patch and number.

Is there a document MOS you can direct me to learn more about these two types of patches?

    See the links following/documents.

Note: the 457566,1 - patch FAQ for version 11i Oracle Applications
Note: the 459156,1 - patch FAQ for release 12 Oracle Applications
Note: the 174436,1 - patch FAQ Oracle Applications

    Maintain all Documentation Oracle Applications
    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/documentation/applications.html

Products and families and Versions - Oh, my!
    http://blogs.Oracle.com/stevenChan/2009/04/products_and_families_and_vers.html

And finally, I will then need to apply all the packs families and patchsets listed as two sections in the report above (completely at the top)?

Depends, you can find some of the patchsets included in family packs and in this case, you do not have to apply it-when you find the number of patch via MOS, it must list all patches which include this fix.

    Thank you
    Hussein

  • Upgrade 12.1.1 to 12.1.3

    Hello

Earlier, I had installed Oracle EBS 12.1.1 with database costs and upgraded to 12.1.3.

Now I have to upgrade an existing instance of a client, there are a lot of modules and a lot of customization.

I want to know what steps needs to be done here when modules are implemented, and a lot of customization.

How is it different from my previous update.

    Please guide.

    Thanks in advance.

    Patricia

The technical upgrade steps will be similar - you will need to follow the 12.1.3 README - https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/ebs_1213_available

  • Refresh your 11.5.9.2 to R12.1.3 EBS

Hi, we are planning the upgrade of the EBS/RDBMS for one of our customers. The current environment is:

A single node 11.5.9.2/9.2.0.8 under Solaris 8 (64 - bit capable, although the RDBMS binaries are 32-bit)

The plan is first to R12.1.1, then apply the ORS R12.1.3. For the first iteration, the main steps would be:

1 clone environment to new, running Solaris 10 (64-bit).
    2. run the preparatory steps.
3 upgrade RDBMS 10.2.0.4 (64-bit), including OLAP conversion steps.
    4. complete the R12.1.1 upgrade.
    5. apply R12.1.3. ORS
6 update the steps (application of patches, etc.).

We would like to upgrade to the RDBMS 11 GR 2, but we do not know if our schedule will allow us to do so.

So, for now, the target environment would be: a single node 10.2.0.4/R12.1.3 in Solaris 10 (64-bit).

Now, what worries me is that, from what I've seen on MOS, R12.1.3 is NOT certified with 10.2.0.4 on Solaris SPARC 64-bit RDBMS. Intriguing, since R12.1.1 IS certified with this same combination of RDBMS/OS. I have not read anywhere that 10.2.0.4 is not supported for R12.1.3 (at least it does not say the README file).

    Questions (just to be sure):
-It will be possible during the downtime R12, to upgrade first to 10.2.0.4 then to 11 g and then perform the upgrade R12, all the way to R12.1.3?
-J' read that 10.2.0.5 is NOT certified with 11.5.9.x, but this being an upgrade of R12, could pass us to this version, instead of 10.2.0.4 RDBMS? 10.2.0.5 IS certified at both R12.1.1 and R12.1.3 on SPARC Solaris 64-bit.

If you have any suggetions/comments on our upgrade steps, please share with me.

    Thank you!

Hi Hussein, have ideas on why 12.1.3/10.2.0.4/Solaris 10 is not a combination certified, even if 12.1.1/10.2.0.4/Solaris 10 is? I can't find any information on its subject.

I have no idea why - it's something that can respond to Oracle support (or they can't know what they're going to just clarify that it is not certified).

Another thing: this customer has no packs applied ATG families, consider you + 11i. ATG. + H.RUP.7 would have a positive impact on the upgrade?

It does not matter. I spend (on 6 of ORS ATG) 11i to R12 with no problems.

  • MDS 9222i, SANOS 3.2(3a) to 5.0.1(a) upgrade

    Hi people.

I have four MDS 9222i 3.2(3a) running.  All four have the same characteristics:

    DC-cis9222i-01 # sh module
Status of Module Type mod Ports model
    ---  -----  -------------------------------- ------------------ ------------
    4x1GE 1 22 IPS, 18 x 1 / 2 / 4 GB/s FC/Sup2 DS-X9222I-K9 active *.

Application of mod Image Description Application Image Version

    MOD-MAC-Address (es) series-Num
    ---  --------------------------------------  ----------
    1 00-17-94-ee-5b-64 to 00-17-94-ee-5b-6c JAE1212BPPK

I wish to all the level towards the last SANOS (unless someone has a good reason why I shouldn't).  I'm their management with Fabric Manager 3.3 (5) independent.  I read the Release Notes for Cisco Fabric Manager version 5.0(1a) and Cisco MDS 9000 NX - OS version 5.0(1a) and 3.3 (x) SAN - OS Software Upgrade and Downgrade Guideand find that my hardware is on the list of support for 5.0(1a), so I think I'm ready.

Unless I misread it, I upgraded to 3.3.5 to 4.2.5 FM in a step, then upgrade 4.2.5 to 5.0.1 in a second time.  I think I get it.

What I'm confused about is, what are the firmware versions and kickstart on the MDS I go through each version of FM?  Each 9222i runs 3.2.3. now and the guide says upgrade each switch can do an update without interruption of 3.2.3 3.3.5 then 4.2.5 and finally to 5.0.1.

My upgrade steps will resemble the following:

    (1) upgrade the switches with m9200-s2ek9-kickstart - mz.3.3.5.bin and m92000-s2ke9 - mz.3.3.5.bin

    2) upgrade FM 3.3.5 to 4.2.5 Once orders are in 3.3.5

    (3) upgrade switches with m9200-s2ek9-kickstart - mz.4.2.5.bin and m92000-s2ke9 - mz.4.2.5.bin

    (4) upgrade FM 4.2.5 to 5.0.1

    (5) upgrade switches with m9200-s2ek9-kickstart - mz.5.0.1 a .bin and m92000-s2ke9 - mz.5.0.1 a .bin

I don't think I have all additional services/features enabled on the switches.  I use FCIP, but no FICON, SANTap, SME or DMM.

    Thank you!

I asked them that we will have to do the same. I was told that 3.3.5 was the oldest version, they tested with 5.0.1 and IVR that we use a little but is the SAN - OS versions.  I think you can lag your SAN - OS with FM i.e. 5.0.1(a) will handle older versions, but... you probably don't want too long tary.  Are you run independent FM or you use a license server and do all the fabric of surveillance and collection?  We will be 5.0.1(a) running with 3.3.5 for a little while until we have Exchange former edge switches for 9148 that run only 5.x and to manage them we have to have FM 5.x server a well.
