Edge Animate, create 'Next' and 'Back' buttons as the current position

Hey everybody,

I'm doing something fairly simple but I could use some help to make it work and couldn't find there examples... This is all I'm doing.

I have animations along a timeline with labels and breakpoints for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.  I want to create a simple buttons "Back" and "Next" that will get your current label and play forward or backward to the next or previous / position of the label.  Logically, my attempt to show what it looks like in the text:

Back to 1-2-3-4-5 next

And that's all, I know that someone must have done this or knows how, any help would be greatly appreciated

See you soon,.

Jeff

Hi, I'm new on adobe, I received Friday but I made a slideshow with front and rear buttons, I don't know if this is the best way to do if however I could make it work. what you need to do is create the div for your buttun that select and go top left stocks open {}. Select on click and enter a similar code.

for the back button:

var pos = sym.getPosition () / / this is a numeric variable that gets the current time in the animation of sound in milliseconds to a second it will have a value of 1000 to two seconds 2000 and so on

If (pos<=>

SYM. Play('5'); If the statement is checked to see which slide that contains animation on, if it is in the first slide, it will play the beginning of the last slide

}

ElseIf (pos<=>

SYM. Play('1'); If it's on the second slide, it will play the beginning of the first slide

}

ElseIf (pos<=>

SYM. Play('2');  If it's in the third slide, it will play the beginning of the second slide

}

ElseIf (pos<=>

SYM. Play('3');  If it's the fourth slide, it will play the beginning of the third blade

}

else {}

SYM. Play('1');

}

for the next button, it's the same concept just opposite

I hope that's what you mean and I don't know if this is the optimal way to do, I'm brand new on adobe, but that's what I got.

  • Out of reactive HTML5: missing the 'next' and 'back' buttons on the pop-up windows that have been converted into hyperlinks dishes

    I use a 30 day trial of Robohelp 2015 to test. I opened a Robohelp projected created in 10, let HR to update and generated a reactive power of HTML5. Then the output, I selected "Convert popups AutoSize and custom linking size" and 'convert popups only of the text into hyperlinks' tab optimization, everything seems to work fine, except that in the popups converted to hypertext links, the 'next' and 'back' buttons disappeared. (these buttons are present in all the other subjects) I also added bread crumbs by adding a placeholder on the main page of the project, and the breadcrumbs not appear in these subjects, either.

    Anyone know what might be happening and how to fix it? 1 million thanks!

    Dawn

    Hi Dawn

    The back and next buttons are normally related to a sequence to browse. As these are topics of popup, has no way for them to be part of a sequence to browse, so no buttons would be added.

    If you want the buttons, you must manually delete the links to popup, then create topics with the same content. Then ensure that they are part of the sequence to browse.

  • Issue using 'Next' and 'Back' buttons on a slide.

    I have 4 paragraphs I want to display on a single slide. To progress, the player selects the button "next". Each paragraph has a 'Next' and a 'Back' button to allow the reader to go any direction and read or reread the material. Once selected the last button 'Next' button 'Continue' ('Let's Take a Closer Look") is set to appear. The "Continue" button should be the only button that allows the reader to go to the next slide. However, once the buttons 'Next' have been selected several times, the blade continues to work and goes to the next slide. Each button Advanced assigned Actions. I can download these images as well. Because now I downloaded an image of Action Advanced 'Next' button and a 'return' image of the Advanced Action button you can see how I course set up.

    Hello

    Have a working example. I created four containers of text T_one, T_Two, T_three, T_Four and grouped in Gr_T.

    Created a v_track variable user, with an initial value of 1 (because the first text is visible when starting)

    Created Bt_Next (visible) and Bt_Back (initially invisible) buttons with a break point at 1.5 sec (later will be for you if you want to first allows you to hear the audio clip).

    Created the Bt_Cont (invisible) button with a break at 2 sec (later than the other two).

    Here is the chronology:

    For the next button, created a conditional action advanced with three decisions. Here's the first, which must be the first (logical) decision and when the third legend is visible, v_track = 3:

    You can send me a private message with an email address if you want to see the others.

    For the previous button, sequence is reversed, here's the first:

  • "Back" button shows the original position of the key

    Hello

    I'm new to Captivate and need help. This could be very basic, but I'm fighting.

    I have three images on the slide, each image click to see a story, then a button that closed the history (hide). When I inserted a button, he appeared in the middle of the screen so I've edited and offered the position to where I need it. I then grouped button as well as the text and action has added to the click image that would show the text. Once the text is read, you click the button to hide the text and button at the same time. But in the preview when I click the button, a similar button in the middle of the gray screen. I tried to use both advanced actions. But the problem persists.

    Can you suggest if I do something wrong?

    Thank you

    Aditi

    You should check the status display for this button, which looks like a default Image (old type) button. What is the action triggered by the Back button? Since each caption text (which looks like a legend, not a form) has the correct ID, you will need to have different actions for each button to return. Take a look on my blog here:

    Play with Captivate 9 - Captivate blog

    My approach would be like that for your use case:

    • Each image to create a second 'WithText' State, where you add the text container
    • Cover each image with a shape that has Alpha = 0 and stroke = 0 (invisible to the user) and the value of this form to act as a button. Check the overview States and down, so that they are also invisible.
    • A close button and it would mask output (icon "eye" on the properties panel).
    • Create an advanced sharing action for buttons in form on the characters that will see the Activate button close and change the State of the character:

      The settings will be in the Image, the State and the close button
    • Apply this action common to all characters. You can name the additional State always the same, it's the easiest way. That the picture will be different.
    • Create this action to apply for the advanced close button (I created the test with only two images file, you need to add all the images on the slide). This way you can still use the same button for each image. If this is not OK, you always have another button.
  • RH11. Script to make the Next and Prev buttons to work as they do in a standard browser?

    Hello.

    I know the arrows to next and previous button in the navigation pane to take the user to the next or previous section specified in the sequence of browser. This means that the help author has design one or more sequences of navigation, which can be long and difficult to maintain.

    Someone at - he created a script, or know if there is, who can transform the Next and Prev buttons buttons that perform standard browser actions. For example:

    • The user opens the A section.
    • The user opens the topic J.
    • User presses the back button.
    • Help opens the A section.

    At the moment the results depend on the navigation sequence.

    • The user opens the A section.
    • The user opens the topic J.
    • User presses the back button.
    • Help opens the topic I have (the subject which precedes the subject J in the sequence to browse).

  • Input parameters of the task flow and "back" button

    Hello experts. I have two stubborn workflow created by page; say they are TF1 and TF2. Each workflow task has their own controlled beans. These controlled beans are kept in the Page flow scope. The two task-flow has their own of initializers.

    By an action on TF1, I redirect to the TF2. During this redirection, I pass some parameters. After redirection when it enters the TF2, I extract the parameters programmatically. Now I'm back on TF1 and TF2 of TF1, I'm clicking on the back button of the browser. Note that I put anything if the re-entry allowed or not in TF2. After clicking the browser back button access me for the new TF2. TF2 called if I generate any action of the initializer. BUT now I can not get the input parameter values more. All values in the set of input null parameter.

    My question is:

    • Why have defined null values?
    • How can I make persistent values?

    Any pointer would be very useful.

    I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0, WebLogic 10.3.5.

    Thanks in advance.

    Tapas

    There is a way. Click on "back" button is not invoke the lifecycle JSF and browser displays the previous pages in its cache. If somehow, I can say browser not to cache the page, then every time a click the back or next button, the browser would GET the page headed from the server, which would eventually be my.

    So I added a filter to achieve this:

    public class NoCacheFilter implements Filter {
        @SuppressWarnings("unused")
      private FilterConfig _filterConfig = null;

        public void init(FilterConfig filterConfig) throws ServletException {
            _filterConfig = filterConfig;
        }

        public void destroy() {
            _filterConfig = null;
        }

        public void doFilter(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) throws IOException, ServletException {
            HttpServletResponse servletResponse = (HttpServletResponse) response;
            servletResponse.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate, private, max-stale=0, post-check=0, pre-check=0");
            servletResponse.setHeader("Pragma", "no-cache");
            servletResponse.setHeader("Expires", "Sun, 16 Dec 1984 07:48:00 GMT");
            chain.doFilter(request, response);
        }
    }

    Note that I have to specify browser to cache resources, I do R & D to change this filter.

    It works. Hope, now I can spend my weekend peacefully :-).

  • Next and Previous buttons do not work in a Blu - ray writer

    I use Encore 5 and have created a blu ray player. In reminder, the when I preview the disc I see that all my menu navigations work fine, all my links of chapter work very well and once I start to play a chapter, the buttons previous and following in the preview screen work very well also, navigate to the next or previous chapeter as appropriate.

    Then, I created a disk image and it burned to a BD - RE disc to test on my PS3. The disc turn and play very well on the PS3, except for the buttons next and previoud. Click on the next button, I get the message "this operation is not allowed. Click on the back button, I am stuck at the beginning of the current chapter, but he never goes to the previous chapter.

    Still, I have a unique schedule containing a minute 15 film (m2v). I create 4 chapters in the film by inserting the points of capture and tied the end of each chapter at the beginning of the next. My first takes place at the beginning of the film, and all my menu buttons are linked to the chapters.

    What should I do to make sure that the next and previous buttons work in a Blu - ray player? Is this a bug in the software?

    Thank you

    linked the end of each chapter at the beginning of the next.

    Why you do this? The typical method is not end these actions and the timeline plays through a different method is used to read the individual chapters, if you need to play alone and return to a menu. But if you want to play the next chapter, simply do nothing.

    The menu is a regular menu or a popup? I understand that the first piece is your timeline.

    For the record, I do not think that relevant here, but added CS6 bluray chapter playlist.

    • Submit button is activated (standard color) [issue 2]
    • "Back" button is enabled
    • The user must "click anywhere" to move forward (full page of hand cursorover). This means, if the user tries to click on return they will go to the Next is not the previous slide
    . [Issue 3]On revisiting a question slide (screening)

    • The user should click on 'Next' to continue, or click 'Back' to return to the previous slide.

    • "Back" button is enabled
    • The user should click on 'Next' to continue, or click 'Back' if they wish to return to the previous slide.
    On revisiting a question (for review) slide
    • Next button is enabled

    • The user should click on 'Next' to continue, or click 'Back' to return to the previous slide.
    • The 'back button ' on Question 1 is activated and directs the user to the previous content that is confused page. [issue 5]

    Issues related to the:

    1. Are there settings that are the origin of this undesirable behaviour?
    2. Or, is it possible to bypass them? It seems a lot of work to have to rebuild the behavior of quiz!
      1. Problem 1: I could create a custom button 'Next', but I can't see any sort of hook in the submission process to trigger it to be enabled / disabled.
      2. Issues 2 and 4: I could create a custom of 'Submit' button but I don't see what measures to trigger to submit the quiz question.
      3. Problem 3: I do not see boxes click to remove or settings to change, to stop the behavior "click anywhere.
      4. Problem 5: I worked around this by creating my own back for Question 1 only button and hide when they review the quiz.

    Any suggestion would be great!

    Thank you

    Hi Lilybiri

    Thanks for the links to your blog, as always very useful!

    I understand the hesitation when seeing convoluted questions on this forum, but I encourage you and others to try to remedy. Otherwise, the forum is pretty useless if it only meets the "simple" questions I tried to unzip the problem so that the expected and actual results were clear.

    I have now overcome problems 1, 2, 3 and 4 as follows:

    • Make the button submit transparent and placed a SmartShape resembling to the button send behind it.
    • Removed the success message, so that the action on the success is called immediately by clicking on Submit
    • Call a tip for the successful event Action. This action:
      • Displays the revision message (success)
      • Hide the submit button
      • Jumps to the next slide and then return to the current slide (this ensures that the buttons next and previous are enabled correctly)
      • Calls a Javascript function to pause the slide.
    • Apply the same to all my slides in question... * sigh *.

    I had already worked around 5 problem according to my original post.

    Again, I want to express some frustration that there are so many workarounds to get training to watch 100%. For example, in one of your tutorials there is a transparent button and once I knew how the workaround has been applied, I put my mouse over it the space where the button was and saw the hand icon. While if you think that users don't notice, I assure you that when the courses are distributed to a few hundred people these things don't go unnoticed! The effort to build workarounds is worsened by having restrictions on question slides that do not apply to other slides, which for example not being able to add a button and having to use a SmartShape (which does not reuse the button styles), etc. That means trying several solutions workaround until you can find one where all the workaround steps are feasible and you can get a perfect result.

    In any case, I'll mark this message as answered and call it a day (I have another question about styling SmartShapes used as buttons but post it separately) =)

    Thank you

    Sarah.

  • 'Next' and 'previous button '?

    Hello

    Is there a way to create a next and previous button action without having to code each button (set of State transition, while in the State)?  I know that this is possible in Flash, but I use catalyst right now because it's so convenient.

    Thank you

    Doug

    Within Flash Catalyst no there is no concept of variables in Flash Catalyst. This would be something you could add via ActionScript and using Flash Builder.

  • miniature and help button to the navigation

    I would like to start by saying that I am very new to this and work on a portfolio in flash CS4 site and currently getting help through the Lynda.com tutorials. Now my problem is in the portfolio section, I want a preview of the photos as a thumbnail on the bottom with a scroll bar to scroll through all, but at the same time I would like to have buttons to navigate through these photos at the same time. I got to work, the only problem is that I'm using the buttons to navigate but then stop and go to the scroll bar on the bottom and click on the the three of four photos in front of where I left off the coast, to the image loading and fine but when I go back to the buttons he continues off the coast where it left last not where I clicked the scroll bar. Don't know if you can follow this, but if he does not ask questions I have really no idea on how to do this so any help is greatly appreciated.

    added the next button function

    next_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.Click, nextImage);

    variable is a container that contains a value...

    var imageNumber:Number = 1;

    function checkNumber (): void {}

    next_btn.visible = true;

    back_btn.visible = true;

    //if the imageNumber is = 14, then do something...

    if (imageNumber == 14) {}

    trace (imageNumber);

    next_btn.visible = false;

    }

    //if imageNumber is = 1, then do not show "back" button...

    if (imageNumber == 1) {}

    trace (imageNumber);

    back_btn.visible = false;

    }

    }

    checkNumber();

    function nextImage(evtObj:MouseEvent):void {}

    trace ("nextimage");

    //adding to the current value + 1

    imageNumber ++;

    " largeUILoader.source="largeimages/portfolio0"+imageNumber+".jpg ";

    checkNumber();

    }

    added the function of the "back" button

    back_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.Click, P:System.Windows.Forms.datavisualization.charting.series.backimage);

    function backImage(evtObj:MouseEvent):void {}

    trace ("p:System.Windows.Forms.datavisualization.charting.series.backimage");

    //subtract 1 present value...

    imageNumber -;

    " largeUILoader.source="largeimages/portfolio0"+imageNumber+".jpg ";

    checkNumber();

    }

    You must have every change in the value of the variable imageNumber thumbnail when you select in thumbnails.  You can see how it changes when you use the next and previous buttons, but there is nothing to change when you select a thumbnail I can see easily.

  • Whenever I try to click on the "back" button or the scroll bar, I get a popup asking me stupid questions, i.e.: Customize the toolbar / return reload etc how can I disable this gene

    When I click on the "back" button or the scroll bar with my mouse, I get a popup asking if I want to customize my toolbar back/reload/open (scrolling) or in a new window? I'm then cannot clear the pop-up window. How can I remove/fix this very annoying problem. I spend a lot of time trying to remove these popups and they keep recurring. No fix for that. I can't seem to find one in the preferences, and I'm starting to hate this OS because of this. Help!

  • Cannot use the back button on the Web PDF pages

    I Windows 7, Internet Explorer (IE) 11 and Adobe Reader DC, all day. Whenever I go to a PDF Web page by clicking on a link in the Google search results and then want to return to the search results page by clicking the back button on the browser, it will not go back. Page PDF just charging once again. This does not occur when I use my browser Google Chrome, when I use IE. It happens with every page PDF that I access from the Google search on Internet Explorer. What can I do to be able to use the back button on the Web PDF page?

    Google made a diversion when you click on a search result. You can see if you right click on a such result and select Copy link location, and then paste. Is not the real address - the web site, but a link to a page of Google.com. So when you click on back after going to her, you can end up on the same redirect page, which automatically will then take you to its destination... Some browsers can handle this better than others, but it is not related to the PDF file you open.

  • quickly create with filter-date and initialize it with the current date

    Oracle BI 11 g

    Hello!

    I need to create guest of dashboard with filter-date and initialize it with the current date. How can I do?

    I tried to create the repository initialization block and add a variable. But I don't know what should I write to DataSource? I tried using the Current_Date, Now(), sysdate functions (for example, SELECT Now() FROM tbl_Calendar) but without results - when I pressed the button "Test"... "I have errors - something like 'Now() is unknown function' or 'incorrect syntax near keyword Current_Date.

    After that, I made to use presentation Variable in the command prompt, but also without success (())

    Please, help me.

    Use "Server Variable.

  • Back button of the browser causes the Navigation to go to the previous Navigation target

    Dear Forum,

    Has anyone seen this problem:

    You have a page ADF Faces with two CommandButtons on it. Both are linked to an action event in a bean of support that navigates you to two separate pages, let's call them 'goPage1' and 'goPage2 '. The bean of the support is to ask.

    When I loaded the page, and click on the first button (which determine the action "goPage1"), the right page (Page1) appears.

    Now, I hit the back button of the browser, which displays the original page.

    Now, I press the ANOTHER command button, that should trigger the Action 'goPage2 '. But instead, the page navigates to page 1. It is as if the previous action is always cached on the browser and any that I press the second button, the initial navigation is performed.

    This happens on Firefox and IE, is not a specific problem of the browser.

    Does anyone have a work around, or a suggestion?

    Best regards

    Nigel

    Disable the back button of the browser by capturing the action on a button in Javascript and if the key code is '8' then do nothing (return false ;) :-)
