• Question of localhost with Adobe Edge inspect on iPhone

  I synchronize multiple devices to use Adobe Edge inspect.

  I downloaded and installed:

  • Chrome extension.
  • Adobe Edge inspect on Android (on Samsung Galaxy Tablet)
  • Adobe Edge inspect on iPhone 4

  I use a 64-bit Windows OS.

  When I inspect sites online, the Tablet and iPhone synch.

  I have a local instance of Tomcat.

  I have a very simple index.html (Hello World in there).

  When I use in my localhost: 8080 to the chrome browser my Android tablet is synchronized

  The iPhone do not synchronize, and I get a timeout of the request.

  I also tried using the IP address instead of localhost with the same result.

  The iPhone is sync with the sites I have access that are hosted on the web.

  How can I get to synchronize using Tomcat so that I can use my localhost instance?

  It's quite strange. I think you should try to make sure the Windows Firewall and any other firewall or anti-virus software is disabled and try again see if you get a different result with your server local apache.

  Let us know if that helps. If this isn't the case, we'll see if we can get other ideas.

• With the help of edge inspect w / content VPN; cannot see hosted page reflow

  I use Edge inspect to see a web page developed using Adobe reflow that is hosted on the servers of my employers that I can only access the help the company VPN. My Macbook is able to see the web page in Chrome (and other browsers too). I've updated my edge inspect extensions (ios and Chrome) but I cannot view the Web on my iOS devices. Instead, I see a message on the screen, "an error has occurred. Web page is not available. "on both iPad & iphone. I can see web content very well, incidentally.

  I took action:

  -restart of ios devices

  -Mac restart

  -updated Edge inspect iOS & Chrome extensions

  -refresh several times

  -inspected again wifi network. All devices are on the same wifi

  -turn off all extensions of Chrome as Edge

  Still no love. I wonder if the content hosted behind the VPN is not accessible on iOS devices. I don't think it would be serious because my Mac to display all of the content with maximum permissions.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Is the device on the same wifi network as the site (on your VPN)? A lot of virtual private networks blocks traffic that makes edge inspect the work, so unfortunately you is perhaps no chance. But if the server and the device are on the same network VPN, there may be a chance.

• Why directories, including "file" (as /fileadmin in TYPO3) work not with Adobe Edge inspect?

  TYPO3 uses a directory named fileadmin where all the data of the user (e.g. models) is stored. But as far as I tested it again the word 'file' in a folder name is a problem to inspect the edge. The devices did not react if I choose this folder to my iMac or MacBook. I have this problem locally (via MAMP 2) and standard web server too.
  For the moment, I have to use a symbolic link (e.g. fadmin-> fileadmin) to use Edge inspect in my workflow of TYPO3 templating.

  Disregard that. You are 100% correct. Our regular expression search (and ignoring) file:/// URL is incorrect and is accidentally ignoring any url containing the word "file". Oops. Huge apologies from us, we are surprised that this has not been seen before.

  The good news is that it's a simple solution in the Chrome extension and we will be pushing an update to fix this very soon.

• Why both google Arimo will work not in Edge inspect on Android?

  I have both Arimo in my site google.com/fonts using CSS include - it works in chrome and firefox on Mac, beachfront inspect on iPad, but not in Edge inspect on Android. Instead, I get what looks like a narrow Roboto - without. Is there anything I can do to get this working correctly? The police also works in Chrome on android.

  Inspect the Edge uses the Android browser? This is the version 4.3.1 if that helps.

  Well, I figured this out. Apparently, browser Android is that Edge inspect uses behind the scenes - someone correct me if that's wrong. Web fonts don't be loading not in my browser android except if I specify that the SVG version. To work around this problem for now, I put the svg version in my queries of media for small devices and medium. Not a hack that I like, but it works. Chalk it to a problem with the Android browser.

  I sent the file:

  Users / [username] / Library/Preferences/Adobe/Edge inspect

  in the trash. Has restarted the app and the same thing. Inspect edge seems to start, made a new pref folder, then breaks down in 3 seconds.

  Just try edge inspect at work. It works great on my Galaxy SII, but it does not work so well on any ios device, we in the bureau, including 1,2,3 and iPhone iPad 4/4s / 5 (running ios5 and (6). I can get the synchronization to the start page, but he then refused to follow my Chrome changes forcing me to update them manually the customer desktop or device... which makes the whole process a bit frustrating.

  I wonder if it is possibly associated with the network, but if then... why it works so well on an Android device? Any site, I watch, so I know this isn't a matter of loading the page.

  Hi Richard,

  I've seen one or two other reports of this problem. Please try to delete the application from your device browse not synchronized as they should. Then, reinstall the client edge iOS inspect on the App Store. Please bring back or not which fixes your problems.

  We tried to reproduce this today, but it is crorrectly to work for all of us on the engineering team.

• Old version Edge inspect for iOS

  I had a version of edge inspect for iOS installed on an old iPod Touch running ios 4.2.1, which was along very happily with the edge inspect the entire system. I removed it but thinking I might update later and not surrender account that this was not the case. I was curious to know why the Soft Edge inspect must 4.3 and if the old version was always going to be available for older devices? I can't upgrade to 4.3 as its old machines and I'm sure that there are still many devices out there with 4.2 on them so why shouldn't it work?

  Hey Chris,

  It's limitation of 4.5 Xcode (Apple Developer tools) that we needed to be upgraded to support the iPhone 5 and iOS6 compatibility, your lowest deployment target is 4.3, the iOS client is dependent on the support of Xcode.

  I encounter the following error when creating a topology on 10 g (10.2.0.4) and 11 g (11.1.0.7):

  MetaLink bug 5087384 is the closest reference I can find and it applies only the 10.2.0.1 so maybe not relevant. Some tips for how to do to investigate this? I know that the function of the origin of the problem. Its a sdo_geometry valid, just a polygon with a single outer ring. I guess the data existing in the topology are not interact correctly with the new geometry, but I don't know how to test this.

  The create_feature api is not very robust when input geometries do not well align the edges of the town.
  So if there are small gaps are very low overlap which would result in shrapnel, the create_feature api has no notion of "tolerance" to deal with them.

  What we recommend in general is to make sure that the shared components of the alignment before the create_feature geometry is used.

  For this, you can use the functions sdo_geom.union and the difference to ensure that entries are aligned.

  For example, if you have a and B as two geometries of entry, then produce A 'and B '.
  sdo_difference (sdo_union A, B, B) will produce A'. Similarly, you can generate B. Then the two A' and B' is aligned along the
  shared edges and will work as expected with create_feature.

  Note that you must process all the data entry like this to ensure that they are aligned. Or you can do it only for these geometries
  who fail with create_feature.

  Bottom line is with the current api create_feature, there are a lot of pre-processing required and we work to make this process simple for the end user.

• Disk with bad sectors - how to get out the data?

  I have a drive that is on its way in my lab at home. He got a few virtual machines on that I'd like back. The SMART State shows a few hundred bad sectors. I use ESXi 5.1 build 799733

  VMS seem to run but when I try to copy them to another disc from the vSphere client, I get a generic error and it hangs on. VMkernel.log displayed I/O failure of questions and 'unexpected sense '.

  I wonder if:

  (1) there is a way to get ESXi try again to copy several times because I think that the copy may succeed after several attempts (given that the VMs system run OK but can not copy them).

  (2) it is possible to run something similar to a chkdsk utility that can be run on the vmfs to see if the file system can recover bad blocks?

  (3), a last resort is it possible to get ESXi to continue with the copy despite IO errors. Maybe then I can run chkdsk inside the BONE and it will heal.

  (4) what are the tools (if any) can I use to clone the drive dying on a well known disc? DD work?

  I agree with the suggestion to try gddrescue.
  The problem THAT VM power off - start a Linux VM from a different data store and get the data store with bad blocks via vmfs-fuse and sshfs.
  Then copy the outside through ddrescue flat.vmdk.

  Sometimes it also helps to manually create a snapshot for the bad VM on another data store. Who sets the origin vmdk in read-only mode.
  Once you have the snapshot you can clone then the empty new snapshot with the basedisk damaged via vmkfstools - i.
