Edition of keyboards?

I heard that most publishers use keyboards dedicated for editing, is this true? and if so why are they good? and where canI buy one that will work with the first?

I use one as having shortcuts printed directly on the help keys.  You can googled around to see what's out there.

Someone else either of these two questions have with their propeller Thinkpad:

    (1) when I use the touch screen, I can see a trail light ghosting on the screen itself, I tap the screen or slide my finger along the screen.  It looks a bit like touching an LCD monitor and dragging your finger down there.  This isn't something I'm used to seeing on touchscreen devices like the propeller.  So, anyone else notice?

    (2) when I got the camera, the keyboard dock has two connectors which allow the tablet to integrate into the cradle depending which way the Tablet is turned.  The left is for the facing and the identical one on the right is for"view."  Display connector was twisted (as if it was not completely inserted).  When I set up the device in display mode, it seemed perfectly connected to the connector.  I tugged on it lightly and it is not out, but I didn't want to press my luck.  Common problem for someone else?

    Hi Stephan,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to your request, I wish to inform you that there is no specific settings of default font to installation for different keyboards.

However, you can change the preferences on your keyboard by pressing Windows + space on your keyboard.

  • My Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 stagnates and stops working intermittently

I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 running 64-bit Windows 7 Pro SP1. When it works, it's great, and I like the compact design and wireless. But in the last few months, I noticed a few problems which become quite annoying:

    1. When I'm editing, the keyboard seems often slow to react. For example, I often use combinations of keys such as Ctrl + C or Ctrl + X, and it's as if the keyboard does not have the CTRL key immediately, so I find myself by typing 'C' or 'X' on my choice. If I click Cancel and try again, it usually works after that. Or I'll click on an input field and start typing and it takes 1 to 3 seconds for the text to appear, but it usually everything happens, is not as if the keyboard is in decline in strikes, but just a delay. It's almost like the keyboard has a period of awakening to send data. It doesn't seem to be a way to control or override this behavior. And we don't mean to be away from the keyboard for hours or anything like that; Instead, it's time to switch between windows.
    2. At least once a day, just a keyboard unresponsive altogether. When this happens, I can go into my Bluetooth settings, remove the device, press the Connect button on the back of the keyboard to set pairing mode again (or usually it comes automatically drops back in pairing mode when I delete) and then plug it in again. He sails right through matching and starts working again... until the next time it stops. There seems not to be a lot of consistency to when this happens, but this is often when my boss stops by my office and asked me to show him something. Needless to say, not the best time for the elegant Bluetooth keyboard go toots upward.

The keyboard said it was MFG. 12/11, is less than 1 year old. Do I need better drivers? Can anyone recommend a troubleshooting step I've overlooked? The keyboard is damaged? I can send it to Microsoft for repair or diagnosis? Do I use? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

    Thanks for the follow-up.

Just in case where notice... you can create keyboard shortcuts in the program through the Edit Menu/keyboard shortcuts for a list here.

From time to time, you encounter the following type of situation

There is no slide or Clip tool drag anywhere are in the workspace of the program editor, just these commands and shortcuts nestled under the lists in the customization of the keyboard.

  • How do you add new shortcuts keyboard for the ESTK?

    keyboard shortcuts.JPG

In many applications of our days, the user has the possibility to add new shortcuts keyboard beyond those that exist among the plethora of keyboard coming already prepackaged assignments. According to their number and the how an existing feature has been located on the keyboard, the user might have to deal with the conflict of the F2 key to their new macro shortcut assignment while making the assignment previous null.

The ESTK interface seems to have some of these features; for example, editing-> Preferences-> keyboard shortcuts, however, I am unable to find out where and how the user can add a new macro, and assign a keyboard shortcut.

In this example, everything I wanted to do was to decide quickly on a line or a block of comments from a script. Currently (CS6), the only options seem to be limited to Shift + Ctrl + K using this method will insert only / / ~ at the beginning of a line already has text on it and will not work on a new blank line.

How can we (CS6) ESTK user adds a new macro and assign it a keyboard shortcut?

I thank very you much for any answer.

  • Blind Presenter: apply the font size to all slides

    Hi all!

Keynote is a great tool for blind people create presentations; It works very well with the Apple own screen reader, VoiceOver.

I have a few questions for you guys. your answers will make my workflow much more effective.

    (1) I know, use the minimum font size is 30. How many characters will fit online?

    (2) I've copied the text in a text document in a slide; of course, the font and size are not the same. Can you assure me that all fonts and sizes remain the same throughout the presentation?

(3.) I have a table of 5 x 5 with numbers on a slide. I was told by sbd. who could read but not edit the documents Keynote (with Open Office) as the table is readable, but could be many, many more great. Is there a way of self-centring a picture so that it fills the slide?

any ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks & best regards, Markus

I regularly create educational materials for students with visual impairments through audio recordings.

I can't imagine the challenge for blind people, creating material with Keynote.     I hope that the following remarks are useful as a point of departure if nothing else.

I know, use the minimum font size is 30.

In fact, the font size must be determined by the final product, which the spectators and the environment where the presentation takes place. Text at the point indicated 30 in a conference room is far too small to be legible, 30 points may be appropriate when sitting in front of a screen of 2 feet farther.

How many characters will fit online?

This, once again, must be determined by the final product, and not the number of characters can be demonstrated. What is really important is the number of words on a slide, not the number ofcharacters.

The number of words that are easy to read on a projection screen in a small training room will be different for the number of words that are easy to read in a web browser on a computer screen.

The rule for text created by professional designers on television broadcast as well as projected communications is a maximum of five words per line and 6 lines per page, a maximum of 30 words per slide. For example, in Europe, there are legal requirements imposed on broadcasters for viewers to read text easily.

I copied the text to a text document in a slide; of course, the font and size are not the same. Can you assure me that all fonts and sizes remain the same throughout the presentation?

Use the dough and the Style of game in the edit, the keyboard is shift option order V

the table is readable, but might be much, much more. Is there a way of self-centring a picture so that it fills the slide?

Select the table, and then increases the font size of the required amount.

I am happy to answer questions about my answer.

  • The H command to hide Photoshop changed

So why the command H to hide Photoshop has been changed?

    photoshopdude wrote:

Well that's the control command: now hide Photoshop. Why they add control, it's mind-boggling.

This isn't really what happened. Let's get the story straight.

Since the first (early 1990s) versions of Photoshop on Mac, Command-H is the shortcut to view > Extras (like hiding the selection rectangle). Thousands and thousands of Mac Photoshop users were trained in the use of Command-H for this.

In 2001, Apple released Mac OS X. It came with a standard system shortcut to hide an application: command-H. However, OS X was in conflict with Photoshop, which used Command-H for a very important function for a decade already. Now, if you change a popular keyboard shortcut, people get really upset. (That's why this topic was started.) Which Adobe users should keep happy? Value of the Decade of Mac Photoshop users who are looking for a command + H to be view > Extras, or new OS X users who expect Command-H the standard way Mac applications to hide? Whatever it is, many users Mac Photoshop would be angry.

The way Adobe is out of this impasse was to give you the choice. If you are using a new installation of Photoshop or reset your Photoshop preferences, the first time you press Command-H with Photoshop on a Mac, you'll see a dialog box where you can choose what you want to do Command-H. If you haven't seen this, either you you press return when he appeared and it went away forever, or maybe someone else has already made the choice on the Mac.

But even if your copy of Photoshop is already configured to use command-control-H to hide, you're not stuck. In Photoshop, simply choose Edition > shortcuts keyboard, then find and click in the view > shortcut Options and press command-H for it defined in this way.

That is the real story. If you Command-H to hide Photoshop, it's your choice and you can set at any time.

  • How can I correct the mistake that has a new rectangle is not in interactive mode?

Whenever I have create a new rectangle, it is in interactive mode.

Where can I change the settings so that a new rectangle is "normal"?

You can convert a normal rectangle

Object > shape > expand Rectangle

I edited my keyboard shortcuts that I can do this quickly.

My thoughts is this should be a new tool or replace the rounded rectangle tool.

There should not be replacing the normal rectangle tool.

  • Changing the default tool?

Maybe it's in the FAQ or help, and I would like to apologize in advance if this is, but I couldn't locate.  It's a simple enough question, too: is it possible to change the order of the tools on a press of hotkey?  For example, I want the eraser path, but must pass a pencil and smooth tools first; is it possible to bring the gum to the top of this stack or assign its own shortcut?

Edition > shortcuts keyboard and make your own shortcut...

There is no way to change the order of tool in Illustrator.
