Effects of tools: restore the predefined default settings

All of the presets for Tools retain the last setting as far as I can see... and 'restore the predefined default settings' has no effect on the predefined settings.

Then, what is the function of the option 'restore the preset default settings' in the menu effects?

It restores what?

Thank you.

When you look at the drop-down list of the effects for the adjustment brush, you will notice that there is a top section and a lower section to this list, separated by a dividing line. You will notice that if you have one of these below items selected, two new commands appear at the bottom of the list with "Save current settings as a new Preset" and "restore the default Presets. This is because the lower part is the actual presets. Presets can be deleted and renamed. These options are not available for the top of the list.

The upper part is not presets, that's why they keep last settings used. So what is this upper part? Well, they solo the sliders. This means that the cursor for the effect selected can be changed. Note that this top list is an exact one-to-one match for each of the sliders in the adjustment (except the sliders that control the brush itself) brush. Let's take a glance at one of these sliders for an example: the exhibition. It's starts with the default value of 1.0, but if you change it while this effect is selected, it will be recalled that value and it option 'restore the predefined default settings' has no effect. Then, you change the exposure to +.5 and if leave you and return to this effect, the value is preserved. But if you selected as an effect of exposure and change the slider contrast, the selection of the drop-down effect will immediately change Custom. If you change the exposure, the contrast slider will be cancelled. It is the actual use of the upper part of the list of the drop-down list of effects, is put to zero all the other sliders except one selected (solo effect).

Is there a way to recover my system where it was before these so-called "updates" have been installed?

    Hi SKGIRL11,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forum.  You can restore your system using restore points.

    Use the system restore feature:

    1. click on Start, type System Restore in the Search box, and then click System Restore under the programs section. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

    2. on the System Restore page, click Next.

    3. Select a restore point during which you know the operating system works, and then click Next.

The restore point should be a date that precedes the first time you experienced the problem described in the Symptoms"" section. To select a date, use the option to choose a different restore point , and then click Next.

    4. If you are prompted for the disk to restore, select the hard disk on which the operating system is installed, and then click Next.

    5. in the confirm your restore point page, click Finish.

    6. when the restore process is complete, click restart

  • Restore the previous display settings

I am new to Windows 8 and borrowed the laptop from a friend. I changed the theme several times and several colors on the display in Control Panel. Now, it is completely messed up and you can hardly even see what to click on.  I want to get back to the way it was before I borrowed it a few days ago. If it is running Windows 7, I would just restore to yesterday's date. I don't want to take any chance of losing one of its files, etc.. Can someone please?

You can run the restoration of the system exactly as you did in 7, it still works 100% identically the same way.

Or you could open the window customize settings and choose a default theme setting.

  • How to restore the T61 factory settings

    Hi all

I formatted my hard drive that came with Vista from the factory. I installed XP and now I am facing hell of problem with that. Right now, I think to go back and make available in my vista system. I don't take any backup on the system. But when I formatted, it showed me that 152 GB instead of 160 GB, I understand that lenova takes the hidden partition Moldavian disk to preserve history and backup of the operating system settings. When I go to the BIOS screen I can't see one of the options to restore my system back. We can do that, or we should send to support the Center, do. Please me gve some suggestions...

    Thanks in advance

    Krishna

If you have formatted your hard drive it menas that you have deleted the recovery partition. You have just 152 GB because your HARD drive is formatted in NTFS as it should.

The only option left for you is to call Lenovo and ask the recovery CD.

Sorry for preaching, but you should back up your system if you decide to format the HARD drive (provided, you may need to get back the original settings)

    Best wishes.

If you more pop to HP.COM support pages and search your PC, there are manuals for the motherboard for each system. And they show you how to reset your CMOS. Here is an example for a motherboard of Chicago:

  • Pencil tool restores the parameters of fill/outline of transparency?

Just upgraded to cs3, and it seems that when I set the fill color, when I draw a path with the pencil tool, it changes the transparent fill.

I can change the fill of the shape after it is drawn, but I don't want to do this after each shape, and I had not to in cs2. Any ideas?

Double-click the pencil tool in the tools Panel. Check the that fill new strokes of pencil then before drawing make sure you have the proxy fill filled with the color you want.

  • Is it possible to "restore to factory default settings" on Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7?

On the top left click on Turn off, or the windows features

Uncheck the box of media with the boot when you are prompted,

  • I just reset my browser waterfox. I can't find a restore to restore the old browser settings that I had. What should I do to restore it?

I kept guest my Waterfox was slow and I should update it. I opened the help article and read it. He said that if I updated it Waterfox would save my old stuff. She said that she would put it in a folder somewhere that I could restore if I didn't update. I refreshed Waterfox and nothing has been saved! Web bookmarks pages I look at one, extensions, nothing! How can I get that back?

I must start by saying that I know Waterfox is similar to Firefox, but if our advice based on works of Firefox seems not to apply to the Waterfox, you will need to follow the Waterfox forums.

You will find a folder on your desktop named old data from Firefox? If so, is there a folder inside with a recent modification date? Normally, which will contain all of your old settings. I posted a suggested "undo" the procedure here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1055439#answer-712774

    Hello

As far as I know, this unit was designed for the American market.
I m not 100% sure how the recovery procedure works on the American units but normally you should see 2 options; Standard recovery procedure and expert recovery procedure.

It should be necessary only to boot from the recovery cd and choose one of two options.
Well, I put t really know why you laptop hangs. Perhaps the formatting of the HARD drive can help, but this is only a suggestion.

    Dooza

This is for a new image.

I often make screenshots and save them as PNG24, and this is what awaits me whenever I'm doing a new image. It is also the image format that I get when I do a slice, quite simply because it is the last format I exported to.

I agree with you, however. I wish that it there a way to set / alternative by default, rather than depend on "what made you the last one," because it is not very reliable.
