  We have 21 iMacs running on the server (El Capitan, recently updated) and alone is binding. The solution is usually quite simple for users and groups in SysPref. Remove the server host and binding, find the available server in the option drop-down menu, but for some unknown reason, the server is listed as unkown-00-00-12-34-56-78.home , that I found is the MAC address of the server. I ran this in a terminal:

  sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist 

  and

  sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist 

  back to link the server in SysPref and correct server name option appears briefly and then changed back to "unkown-00-00-12-34-56-78.home" right before my eyes!

  You see "unkown-00-00-12-34-56-78.home" anywhere on the server?

  Is the correct server name a bonjour name? That is to say theServer.com? or is it a FQDN name? theServer.YourDomain.com?

  What is the name of the performed client hello?

• Photo Downloader with bridge CC - OS El Capitan issues

  Photo Downloader, which I relied on heavily advanced features to rename and organize my pictures stopped working with iPhones (and other equipment, as seen in the related discussions) when running on Mac OS El Capitan. I checked first over 6 months ago and still no solutions. By contacting Adobe today, they say the software team is working to fix this bug, but I can't get a clear answer to their priority.

  I respectfully request that someone from Adobe will respond and let me know:

  1 adobe actually working to fix this bug and a priority?

  2. in the case, Adobe plans to put an end to PhotoDownloader so there is no hope?

  NOTE

  I lost and continue several hours using workaround Adobe provide to access Apple's Image Capture (I have to rename all work in my archives where as Advanced Photo Downloader features which are mine). ALSO, I have the inconvenience of not upgrade the operating system of my so that at least I can use Photo Downloader on this (but this causes other programs work effectively).

  We work the fix for Adobe Photo downloader on Mac OSX.

  Could you please try the below mentioned workaround solution.

  Please install the latest version of THE bridge bridge CC 2015 cloud creatives desktop application.

  Open Bridge CC 2015, click file > import from device.

  Please make sure that you change the mode of the PTP/MTP device in USB mode to mass storage mode and then connect the device to your computer.

• A hope for the e-mail in El Capitan issues?

  Hi - I've upgraded to El Capitan of Mavericks (big BONE btw and wish I could still use it) and nothing went right ever since, especially with mail.

  At least 98% of the time I can't answer emails (using the Gmail server) in the mail. I hit 'reply' and get a new window and a frozen program. I went to mail to force to quit and restart, after what I see pieces box of each thread. After reboot, I can not always respond well, the situation becomes an exercise of "Groundhog Day" - not pleasant and professional.

  This has been an ongoing problem for me since January 7, and no discussion with several Apple Care helped senior advisers. I keep saying they "work on it" and, as I found out, I'm not the only person to have that kind of question.

  While I realize that problems with the utility software is not sexy - as if we were trying to defeat the FBI stupid in a discussion of national security - I think that Apple has forgotten its roots, its core fan base.

  We buy phones, tablets, and Apple computers because the material is magnificent and we have always wanted that software is easy to use - and rarely failed. This has changed in recent years, and not for the better. Yes, the material is always beautiful and functional, but the supplied software is anything but. If there is a better platform to use on these elegant machines I would, thanks to inefficiency cited here and the inability - reluctance? d ' Apple to make it right.

  Where do we go from here? Anyone got any kind of a solution so that I can work on that machine again?

• Issue list display

  I've never really understood how to add an instance of the class to display the list when the class has no visual interface. I always add the instance to a UIComponent, but it seems that there must be a better way to do it. Can someone tell me if there is a better way, or if it is actually the correct way to do it?

  If your visual class does not extend UIComponent (like Ball.as), then he used were of the French in cooked flex stuff - so there need to be wrapped in a UIComponent (or something that extends UIComponent) for flex can handle (ie: layout)

  rather than the ball that extends from the form, it should extend UIComponent

  I only use flex 4 now so I can't be sure, but I think that you can not add UIComponents-no at the application root of the display list.

• I'm trying to calibrate a NEC monitor connected to my iMac end of 2014 running El Capitan.  Spectraview calibration software, does not recognize the NEC monitor.  Suggestions?

  Make a backup before installing, preferable 2 backups on 2 different disks.

  Go to the App Store, connect, and then in the right-hand column under Top Free, El Capitan is listed. Download the installation program. Once it is downloaded, it will open up and guide you through the installation steps. The computer will restart and complete the installation, which takes a while. It's a fairly simple process. It may ask you for your Apple ID and password to configure iCloud. If you don't know them, you can skip this step and log off.

  Recently updated to El Capitan.  List of contacts does not scroll.

  Quit the application contacts. In the Finder, select go, then navigate to the folder and paste:

I tried to reset the "recent items" to 10 in System Preferences > General > recent items, but it keeps going back to 'None '.   I changed the settings in the menu to system preferences (general) of zero to 5, but nothing has changed.

  I just bought a Toshiba 250 GB Usb external hard drive because the seller advised me telling me that it works in my iBook G4 Mac OSX computer.

  I made it and I see it on my desktop with a folder called System Volume Information and 2.32 GB available.

  I tried to copy a file and I got a message saying that the disk is not editable.

  Where can I find the instructions to initialize if it's compatible?

• End of 2015 iMac is slow Lightroom / Capture 1pro 9

  IM find in Capture one Pro and especially Adobe Lightroom (all the current versions) these programs are extremely slow preview and it is actually slower then my model 2012 end to work on.

  I'm running out of ram 24gig, 3.3 GHz Intel Core i5 and AMD Radeon R9 M395 2048 MB model of retina.

  FCPX is a lil months aswell

  Is it the El Capitan issue or something else?

  I bought this ill thought save time of editing a fly through my files, but need me more time!

  Open Applications-> Utilities-> activity monitor.  Check the memory usage,

  CPU utilization, disk, and network activity and post your findings.

  Seems something is supported of the resources of your system for some reason any.

  El Capitan does not in itself and ask your question.

  I have a problem which seems to be a bit like this:

  The VI I'm running is a step of edit of a type of step. LabVIEW checks if the property 'Step.Setup.ReadMeasName' exists, fills a listbox with her if she does. An another ListBox with all available measure names will also appear on the user interface. The user has an Add and Remove button to remove the 'ReadMeas' list box measures or add them to it of the listbox 'MeasNames '. Several names may be added/removed according to what is selected when you press the buttons. Once 'Fact' is clicked the VI writes the 'Ref' to the list box "ReadMeas" property to "Step.Setup.ReadMeasName", using a node to set the value of property that is passed the TestStand sequence context. If the property does not exist it creates.

  The only time where I have any problem is when I try to remove items from the property, after it is already initialized (i.e. non-empty). In other words, if I run the VI of teststand, put several names as in "ReadMeas" click on done, again run the VI (already added names appear in the box when the user interface is displayed, LabVIEW reads "Step.Setup.ReadMeasName"), then remove the names. IF "ThisContext.Step.Setup.ReadMeasNames" has opened in the tab 'Variables' step when you try to remove the names, I got this message in the Variables tab: 'one or more errors occurred. Please save your work and restart the application. "If I'm careful of not having expaded 'ThisContext' in the variables tab, but check the property before and after the removal of names in the list it does not work properly, and there is no error.

  This isn't a big problem because I doubt that the end user will check to see that the property has actually filled, but I still want to fix the bug if possible. I installed the patch for TestStand 2010 and the .net Framework 4.0. Someone has an idea of what might be happening here?

  Looks like you are running in a known issue 193751, which is documented in TestStand 2010 and 2010 SP1 known issues list. It is a problem that we intend to fix in a future version of TestStand.
