  I started having problems since I changed my modem. I called HP support and they helped me with some instructions and a few updates, I had to download.   If you are using Snow Leopard or Lion and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

  Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
  Click on continue
  Highlight your device in the left pane
  Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
  There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
  Click on continue and let it finish

  Restart your Mac

  Now reset the printing system:

  -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
  -Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.
  WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
  -Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

  I am running Windows 7 (64-bit) and have a HP C6280 connected to my local network. My NetGear router shows the printer as a device on my network. Windows Control Panel will display as loans and set printer as default. When I try to print, the release of the coils for the print spooler, but then shows a printing error and nothing prints. HP Solution Center shows as disconnected printer.

  HP print and scan doctor can see the printer but cannot print a test page for it or fix the problem. Cannot printer Windows troubleshooting. I put manually the printer IP address and it corresponds to the IP address used by the pilot, i.e. 192.168.1.107

  The only way I found to solve the problem is to completely uninstall and reinstall the printer and all the HP software associated with it. And then I have to do it again on all 2-3 days.

  Any ideas?

  Thanks for the suggestions, but I did that already, severl times. It turns out that BitDefender Firewall was interfering with my connection on printre network. After fixing manually the printer IP address and establishing a zone of confidence for the IP address of the printer for, things seem to have settled down.

  You can try to uninstall the printer software (from the control panel), then by restarting your computer and download and reinstall the printer using the same link I posted above.

  That should help the printer freshly and correctly on your computer.

Due to files that aren't, they could be potentially more missing files. This serious and you want to look into this. I recommend reinstall the operating system on your computer.

  When I moved recently, I have lost the cord that connects my scanner to the computer tower. I can't understand the type of cord, it must be. Obviously an end must be a male USB connection but I don't know what is the other end. The scanner is equipped with a female port which is flat on the bottom with beveled on the top corners and there a piece of rectangluar in the middle of the port. Please help if you have one of these printers or you know what I'm trying to describe. Thank you!!

  I lost the driver for the scanner, I have a pixma 180.  Tried to use the CD, but computor would not read. I'm not gifted in computor so I am at a loss.

  Our printer working fine until a couple of days. Now, when we print dialogue print open but constantly says "the printer is not connected. I tried to connect to the router using the screen of the printer, but get a message saying "cannot connect". I rebooted everything what it many times.

  At some point during those two days, I have managed to get so our imac had found the printer and actually thought it was printing, but nothing only happened at the end of the printer. Now I'm back to "the printer is not connected. I don't know what caused that change or change it back.

  Someone had mentioned to a static ip address in the printer, so I tried this (assuming I did it correctly) passing through the settings - without wire-advanced settings-ip settings-manual where it says ip address no connection, then put an address ip, but this was not accepted and always says 000.000.000.000.

  The Test report suggested allowing MAC wireless network could be the problem, but somehow, I spent (don't know how) and the latest report ' NECK until low but above indicates a problem IP address by saying that our ' HP printer is currently configured with an IP address of auto. On most of the networks that it will prevent your printer to communicate on the network... run the next solution." The solution suggested to restart then print a new test report and then says "check that the printer has received a DHCP IP from your network router address, check the configuration source in the current configuration of the report section - it should show DHCP. But after I restarted again the ip address shows 0.0.0.0 and the configuration source said no "specified." The test report gives no solution to change the ip address to view DHCP so I'm stuck. My Advanced settings still say IP settings - automatic. Help appreciated. Thank you. P.S I'm not good with all this talk about techy but I am surprised that, in my opinion, I understand what I wrote!

  I removed the ssid password and managed to print. I put the password, it is lacking in WPA WPA2 & (I have not WPA2-AES) and again the printer cannot connect. The printed report again now says FAIL to no filtering and implies that there is something to do with active mac filtering which I don't understand. Thanks for your help so far. We are called to take the kids to the movies can be on so not for awhile.

  I think you need to delete the queue. For Windows, try it please:

  Hold down the Windows key and press R.
  from the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.
  If the computer asks you to Admin, you have to accept that,
  regarder watch down to the print spooler service, right-click and select Properties
  Click the Stop button,
  Go to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers
  delete the job inside this folder
  restart the machine.

  I have a mixed network of Wi - Fi and Windows PCs and laptops over a Surface, Samsung tablet, Android phone, iPhone and Windows phones. All in all, I have about 20 machines to connect to my home network who do not generate printed content at random times. My router is a Netgear R6250 and I'm hard wired for Gigabit ethernet throughout the House. I use a single subnet.

  Given these parameters, what would be the method preferred for connect the 8620 my network for all devices can print and access scanned documents?

  • For example, should I run ethernet from the printer to the router or use the printer wireless?
  • If I go wireless, will be my Wired desktop PC can print or receive scan?
  • If I go with an Ethernet connection to the router, my wireless devices will be able to print?

  Finally, we have occasional visitors who would use our network of comments. If I connect the printer to our main network, users on the network of comments will be able to access the printer?

  Ethernet is always perferred more wireless... fewer problems.    Insofar as comments, Netgear networks should have a framework that will allow the printer to be seen and used.  You will need to read their manual.  If router linksys... forget it.

  You will need to install the drivers and full software functionality on each device to make full use of the printer.

  Your router has WPS.  It is the button on the top forward.

  WPS (push-button) on the printer, then breast push 2 minutes the Start button on the front of the router.
