EliteBook 840 G1 graphics cards

It's maybe a stupid question but...

I have an EliteBook 840 G1 with the AMD Radeon HD 8750 and adapter of the graphics card Intel HD active, both using the station to host ultra slim with external monitors connected to the ports display. If I run Dxdiag it says the graphics card Intel is used, how enable the AMD graphics controller to the device main dosplay?

Thank you

Phil

  • EliteBook 8540W: updating graphics card on HP Elitebook 8540w

    Hi people
    I have an elitebook HP 8540w , with graphics Nvidia Quadro FX 880 M, Win 7 x 64 Pro, Core i7 620 M.
My question is: is it possible to Update the graphic card Nvidia Quadro K1100M or K2100M?
At the level of the connector standards of advice and architecture seems everything is compatible. Standards of PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 write compatible in both directions. But I have heard that HP because it blocks the BIOS setup other devices if they are not provided by the factory. is this true? If yes then it turns out that the maximum that you can put FX1800M it uses one of the set of options... Or maybe take K1100M / K2100M of new generations of HP 85XX, or may be other manufacturers of laptops? Another alarmingly K2100M consumes 55W, while the installed card HP in particular FX1800M consumption 45W. With the cooling system is quite clear that to do, but is there enough electrical power?

    Thank you.

    1. the memory just downclocked and turns at speed 1333.

    2. There is no whitelist video card but be very careful with the MXM graphics cards. Make sure that the heater is in the same place as the original and you have the same kind of MXM card; IE the edge of integration is the same. If all this is true, you can exchange video cards, but it's a big job.

  • EliteBook 8440p: Reseting graphics card

    Hello

I recently took an EliteBook 8440p, updated from an older model. I use this machine to play Eve Online while traveling. The problem I have is with the graphics card, it keeps reseting when some parts of the game to the top load, in particular, whenever my character in the play jumps through a wormhole, or a door of the stars, the game crashes, the screen goes black, gets and I get a message saying that card graph reset It's very persistent... I have already contacted the customer service at this topic and updated all the drivers for this machine, nothing has had no effect. The old version of this machine I upgraded to run Eve Online without any problems at all... Why am I having this problem with a newer model?

Nevermind, I decided to throw this piece of s * in the trash and buy a new computer laptop from another manufacturer.

with an AMD RAdeon video card R4

    I have 3 question:

Can I install a video dedicated to 1 or 2 GB memory card in this notebook?

Model video card wich corresponds to this laptop?

also: how HD slot inside there?

I install an SSD as drive system there and add a Sata HD

    Robye64

Sorry, but you are operating under a misconception as laptops don't use cards "video" in the same sense as desktop computers.

Some use video modules, others have video integrated with the CPU - but in both cases, these aren't replaceable parts by the customer.

If you want a more powerful video, you must order a template already embedded.

    Good luck

    Hi @Lakku ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP laptop and want to make changes to your systems graphics card.

Graphics cards are attached to the motherboard on laptops and are related to the processor. Change the graphics card and the processor is very expensive and not a guarantee that it will correct or help speeds. Here is a link that might help improve performance on your system.

    Thank you.

  • Upgrade graphics card for elitebook 2530p

I have an elitebook 2530p with windows 7 and I was wondering if I could update my graphics card and if I can what kind should I move to

  • EliteBook 8760W: possibilities to upgrade graphics card

I currently have 8 gig RAM and graphics AMD over-pants M5950. About to upgrade to 16 gig which is max for this (Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz) processor.  "While I'm here why not upgrade the graphics card?" he asked. The notewbook is 4.5 years.  So, here's my question.  What might work for a new graphics card?  Thanks in advance.

We usually say to people flat out "no upgrade is possible". In your case, not true. You already have a good map. However, the other candidate is the nVidia Quadro 5010 M which is a beast with 4 GB of memory video memory DDR5.

    http://www.notebookcheck.NET/NVIDIA-Quadro-5010M.47195.0.html

    Here is the Service Manual:

    http://h20628.www2.HP.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c02847569-1.PDF

See p. 68 to see how the video card comes out.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/Dell-NVIDIA-Quadro-5010M-4GB-GDDR5-M6600-video-card-N12E-Q5-A1-/251500680424?hash=item3a8e9bd4e8:g:zT4AAOxyBvZTRMPp

If you switch to nVidia, you also get a different fan/radiator for the video card:

Intended only for computers models NVIDIA graphics subsystems 652544-001

Your video card can be bought on eBay for under $ 60, while the Quadro 5010 M costs more than $600 in order to see how much more desirable is the Quadro. You can also search other AMD/ATI cards that are not specified in the maintenance manual, but it's very hit or miss. On the some portable (removable) MXM cards with, they are not universally interchangeable. There are Web sites for only MXM card information and you can see one of them:

    http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/Forum/67-official-MXM-upgradecom-Forum/

As you can see this isn't really a trivial question and must consider and plan carefully. Not just a "Hey while we're here we might as well" kind of thing.

  • HP Elitebook 8760w: I can upgrade the graphics card in my laptop? HP Elitebook 8760w

    Nice day

My laptop is a number first in every way execpt the graphics card which is obsolete.
I think it's a waste and the hassle of having to sell it and buy another just to get a better graphics card.

Is there anyway I can improve my Quardo NVIDIA 4000 M say Nvidia Geforce GTX 950 or upwards?

    Thank you for your time,
    Josef

Except that... aren't the graphics 'cards' - as those who enter desktop.

Instead, these are maps graphics - made specially to fit in this laptop.

Look at the pictures still once, is clearly not the cards, you can buy off the shelf.

    Good luck

  • EliteBook 840 G1: elitebook 840 g1 pci

    Hello!

I have a quick question that I find no answer too... y at - it a PCi express slot? Y at - it an option to install an eGPU (external Graphic Processing Unit) on a HP Elitebook 840 G1? know someone that?

Thanks for taking your time to read and reply
    -Tribusion

Probooks until i-core of 2nd generation had card expresscard slots. Abandoned since.

EliteBook until 3rd gen i-core had card expresscard slots.  Abandoned since.

Only ZBook 15/17 4th generation i-core laptops have expresscard/Thunderbolt ports.

840G 1 has a slot of mPCIe used for the wifi card. Who can host an eGPU but keep in mind that HP is not port mPCIe unless a wifi card is detected at startup. This can be a little more cumbersome installation because it may require priming with hotswapping, wifi, or sleep/permutation of eGPU instead of the card wifi adapter card.

  • HP EliteBook 840 G1: HP EliteBook 840 G1 - missing several drivers

Unidentified device (how do you know what it is?)
    SMI Bus controller
    PCI serial port

If someone could give advice, I would appreciate it.

Your Support page is here. Install everything first under chipset and restart. Following graph.

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/readIndex?sp4ts.Oid=5405097&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4060

The unidentified device is probably the HP 3D Driveguard or Realtek card reader. You can check by getting the hardware id of the device. Right click, choose Properties. in the window that opens, click the Details tab, select the hardware id using the selector.

You could install HP Support Assistant-last file in the list - and let it scan for missing drivers needed.

  • Laptop computer graphics card

    Hello

I wanted to know if I could pass the GPU on my laptop. I have a HP 15 t-j100, i7-4700MQ, with 8 GB of RAM and 2 GB of Nvidia GeForce GTX 740 M, a 1 TB with 24 GB of SSD caching hard drive. I went back to the HP page and I saw that on the new laptops of the same model, they have a 840 M as well. So I was wondering if I could switch to it. I was also wondering if I could pass it to a GeForce GTX 850 M. Thanks for any advice.

    Hello:

Not without replacing the motherboard together with care, which can have better graphics.

There not removable/replaceable "graphics cards" in your laptop or any other.

Graphic processing units are welded and the circuit is integrated in the motherboard.

It would be cheaper your notebook trade in and get one with the graphic solution you want to defect removal and replacement of the motherboard.

  • EliteBook 840 G2: EliteBook 840 G2 - SCCM 2012R2 driver problem / OSD

We have a System Center R2 2012 with Elitebook 840 G1 environment works fine with the deployment of the operating system. However, our G2 models is not able to present the same task sequence that it restarts on the 'Preparing network connection' part of the WinPE Startup.

We injected the most recent pilot network to download the drivers to hp.com and driver still more recent intel.com (both drivers judged separately) to the boot image.

The driver is (even though I'm aware that the chip is now called 218, it still bears the name of the 217 driver):

    Intel(r) Ethernet connection I217-LM

    tested versions:

    12.12.80.1950

    12.12.80.19

    How can we solve this?

I answer my own op, in case someone else might have trouble with this:

This man was right! (see LINK below)

For deployment of HP EliteBook 840 G2 with SCCM 2012 R2 Windows 7 , you need the driver for Windows 8.1 and newer OS' are injected to the boot image (not the Sysprep one).

Dmitri Bobko in EBLEND THERE credit, to see what was not exactly obvious. And thank you so much for this ad on your blog!

    http://blog.eblend.ca/2013/11/hp-elitebook-820840850-and-probably.html.

BTW, I download the driver of the Intel.com CARD to make sure I had the latest possible driver for Intel(r) Ethernet connection I218-LM.
