EliteBook 8540p RAM

The documentation says that the machine has two or four RAM SODIMM slots.  The Bay has a populated location and the second is just solder tabs and is uninhabited.  When I add a stick to the open slot, the mem rises by the correct amount more than 2G.  Where can I find the first location?  The computer model is BW573US #ABA motherboard is a Version KBC 1521 32.34.

Thank you

  • HP Elitebook 8540p: upgrade of RAM HP 8540p

    Hello

I have a very special, HP Elitebook 8540p, running Windows 10 pro 64 bit on a processor intel i7 640 M dual core, and I'm confused as to the amount of RAM I can upgrade to.  I read that it can vary from 8 GB to 16 GB and beyond. My laptop has only two memory card capacity. The type of RAM cards are 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM.

Any help would be fantastic. I'm trying to update my RAM to support the software of CAD 3D, which requires a minimum of 8 GB of ram, but I would like a little more if I could.

    Hello

A table on page #16, your machine has only 2 slots so its 8 GB strips of RAM DDR3 Physclally Max supports are the same (pins, length,...).

  • Slot of RAM missing in EliteBook 8540p

I need help to understand if I have been cheated.

In my case, I have 4 GB installed in my EliteBook 8540p and it is only on the memory module connector.

Recently, I planned to upgrade to 8 GB and that I have to install both modules to 4 GB (a location is limited to 4 GB) but I do not have a physical location.

In the specification of the 8540 is written that there must be two or SODIMM four slots support dual channel memory.

In my EliteBook 8540p there is one.

    Is there a solution?

The module slot and soDimm primary memory is located under the keyboard. You have found the location of memory expansion module.

You will need the Service & maintenance guide to use as a reference.

  • EliteBook 8540p: need help with HP Elitebopok 8540p Bios corrupted restore

    Y ' All sup

A few months ago, I installed a bios update for my HP Elitebook 8540p.  After the update, the PC started trolling, so I tried to restart the PC.  Instead of reboting, all the lights turn on (except for the light of the HARD drive), and the CAPS lock flashes indefinitely.  I have serached tirelessly for a response to the restoration of the bios.   Tried to remove the CMOS battery, draining the power of the PC and also tried to start the update of the Bios of the page files produced here.

But the situation is still the same

    Any help would be appreciated.

Guess what! After all these months, I finally met an easy solution!

  • Drops - 6200AGN - Elitebook 8540p wireless connectivity

I recently got a HP EliteBook 8540p.  I encrypted the drive, and it runs a Windows XP Pro SP3 corporate base.  The wireless adapter is an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN on the wireless adapter.  There were no updates for this computer recently.  When you connect first on the system, if I leave the card activated via the touch button wireless, wireless adapter to connect to my home network, or elsewhere, that I am.  The connection remains stable ranging from 20 to 30 minutes, then falls.  It is therefore more connectivity and looking at the list of available networks, it is no longer a.  When you restart the laptop it freezes very probably at the point when he tries to close the network connections.  I found that when he is in this condition, before the reboot, and I try to turn on/off the network card; I get adapter did not notice during activation.

The only solution I've found is that of turning off the device during bootup, press, and then allowing the aircraft via the touch button allows once connected.  After it is no available networks, but I can now disable successfully unit via network connections, and then activate the device and it connects.  I have no earthly idea why this adapter is crazy.  There should be no reason for it.  Given that I am not the only post something this crazy on one card integrated, I will assume that there is still no response.  Someone please respond sooner.

I will never buy another HP product.  I suggest to every person in charge of research and to come on this post, throw your HP product in the trash, bad mouth to all your friends and buy a dell.  I am.

  • Wired NETWORK card drivers for Elitebook 8540p

    Hello

I am trying to load the NIC drivers of (non - wireless) on my HP Elitebook 8540p; It has Windows XP x 32.

    I'm looking here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=4096173&...

I have tried everything that involves it linked to a LAN driver (not wireless):

Intel PROSet and Driver for XP MS 15.1.1.1 utility

HP TravelHub and LAN Drivers 2.4.8.0

Driver Intel 82577LM and 82577LC Gigabit Ethernet

None of them have worked.  I ran the installer and also tried manually, go to the drivers and install through the Device Manager interface.

    None have worked.

Any idea what I need to download the correct drivers?

    Thank you

    Hello:

It is one or two things...

    1. you switch LAN/WLAN enabled in the BIOS, and you do not have a wired network cable right now.

Disable the LAN/WLAN switching and wireless and wired adapters appears in Device Manager.

    2. you have LAN enabled in the BIOS power saving Mode. This setting disables the LAN card when the laptop is not connected to the a/c power, and you're driving on the wireless network.

Disable the LAN power saving Mode and will always be the card cable system in the Device Manager, plugged in or not.

  • EliteBook 8540p

Hi, guys. I bought the hp elitebook 8540p and I found a fantastic machine. but I fear now that it does nt have built in webcam. There is a place of webcam, but it is coverd and sealed with the same size of plastic piece. I searched on internet, this model, but this model is with integrated webcam. I don't know why mine does nt have cam? Can I buy webcam for this model and fix it to its place.

    Hello

It should have a webcam as indicated in the present:

    www.bsc.nodak.edu/uploads/Resources/1229/8540pquickspecs.pdf

But on the other document, there are 4 types of screens HD, HD + HD webcam + and HD webcam ++. Please check from the following link (Service Manual) part number and order the right part of your computer.

    http://notebookservicemanual.com/HP-EliteBook-8540p-service-manual-and-user-guide.html

My suggestion: there are several good external webcam around, just buy one and hang it on your machine. Given hundreds users out there can't get the webcam market.

    Kind regards.

  • HP Elitebook 8540p: what RAM 2x2gb and 2x4gb chips order must be installed in HP Elitebook 8540p

Currently there are modules of 2x2gb RAM installed in the primary slots under the keyboard in my Elitebook 8540 P.

    I want to add RAM.

If I get 1x4Go RAM module, can I just add it into the expansion slot #1 on the underside of the laptop? If I get 2 x 4 GB RAM modules, I add them in the expansion slot on the underside of the laptop, or I swap the new modules of RAM 2 x 4 GB 2x2gb modules under the keyboard into the primary slots?

    Hello:

I recommend you to read Chapter 4 of the manual on the link below... page 60 & 68.

Computers that use the card mother with the spare part number 595765-001 or 630294-001 have four memory locations.

On these computers, in both locations of memory expansion (at the bottom of the)

computer) and memory locations main (under the keyboard), slot 2 cannot be occupied if slot 1 is not met.

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=4096175&docid=emr_na-c03382696&docLocale=en_US

If your laptop has 2 x 2 GB memory in the slots of the upper (primary), you will need to put the corresponding memory in the lower expansion slots.

In other words, you put two 4 GB chips into the bottom slots 2.

It should not at all important if you switch the chips (put the 2 x 2 x 2 GB and 4 GB in the top slots in the slots on the bottom).

The reason of memory must be installed in pairs GB is so it can operate in DDR mode.

So, if you only buy a 4 GB chip in a first time, put it in the #1 expansion slot.

Make sure you get memory low density on this model or memory will not work.

Normally, low density memory modules are those with 8 tokens of some memory black on each side of the circuit board.
