emails bounced by hotmail as not rfc 5322 complient

I have been using Thunderbird for a while with no problems.

I have recently updated to version 38.1.0, after which the mails from Hotmail (or live.com , or msn.com , which seem to be the same server) are dismissed with:

SMTP error from the remote server after transfer of text of mail:
Host: mx1.hotmail.com
5.7.0 (COL004-MC3F6 message) could not be delivered. Please make sure that the message complies with RFC 5322.

Returning to 31.7.0 solved the problem, but I prefer clearly on the latest version.

OK I have not the what, the why.

The who's.
31.0.7 inserts the message header

From: Roland Gifford <[email protected]>

38.1 inserts of

From: Roland Gifford (which is not RFC compliant.)

So now, I suggest looking for modules. most likely those who are supposed to stabilize the sender as they would be directly manipulate that.

As a general sweep, you can boot into safe mode by holding the SHIFT key when you start Thunderbird and therefore disable all the modules just to see if a shipment works for you. Then start the work that is the culprit.
