Emails in outlook express may be archived or copied to an external hard drive. I have about 8 years I want to lose.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6 Just run OEQB and it will create a backup in a directory that you specify.  I would recommend the backup on the disk hard local and then copy on the external drive so its slower.

The OE files are very sensitive to corruption and many people lose messages per day (see point 2 on this page), so you should go often enough if you want to keep your messages.  Hard drives may also fail and you lose everything.

  • I can't open all hyperlinks in emails in Outlook Express. I use Windows XP.

    I use Windows XP.  In the 2 days that I find I can not open an email in Outlook Express and click on hyperlinks in them or click images to go to the announced advertising sites.  That's happened?  My updates are coming through.  My anti-virus works very well.  I can open the hyperlinks in my browser web ok.

    Original title: Repetitivet sending emails from Outlook Express

    When sending emails from my Outlook Express , the following occurs:

    (1) as usual, send the message falls into my Outbox and begins to be sent.

(Note: most of the providers have limits as to how many messages you can send both a. 25 is common, but it varies).

    Your Inbox may be altered.  Go to file | Identities and set up a new identity and add your email account and see if it works.  If Yes, then you can try to import older identity, but you may need a program to extract messages otherwise (see www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/).  You should not ignore the request to compact the database messages, like at the time, the Inbox and other folders get corrupted and you lose messages - see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2 .
