EMCA in 12 c

Hello

I try to install Enterprise Manager on a database of 12 c, but there is no emca.exe and the C:\app\oracle1\product\12.1.0\dbhome_1\ccr\sysman\plugins\oracle.sysman.db\agent\scripts\emca\emcaDbUtil.bat batch file does nothing. There is no such thing as an emca.exe file. How can I install OEM?

Thank you for your help.

Silly question maybe:

Why not read the documentation online?

Also dbcontrol no longer exists and has been replaced by express EM.

I did some research on your name and came up with documentation

http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-intro-1965965.html

Following this change, emca could become obsolete too. Documentation would have told you that.

  • Create the EMCA

    Hi all

    11.2.0.1

I installed using the OEM > emca - create config dbcontrol db-rest

After completing the installation, this message has beed posted:

Repository management was placed in secure mode in which Enterprise Manager data will be encrypted.  The encryption key has been placed in the file: u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/DGOracleTest2_orcl/sysman/config/emkey.ora. Ensure that this file is saved as encrypted data will be unusable if this file is lost.

This means OEM has configured Oracle Wallet on our database? Because to my knowledge, data encrpytion possible only by the wallet? Or are there other ways?

    Thank you all,

    pK

It is the key used by the OEM for https (secure http) communication.  It has nothing to do with the encryption of your data or everything related to a portfolio.

  • error of ports used EMCA

    Hi all

    11.2.0.3

    AIX 6.1

I'm emca for DEV machine configuration > emca - config dbcontrol db-rest create... .and he managed.

Then I'm configuring a UAT machine that has the same features, but my emca received the error:

GRAVE: Could not allocate ports in the specified range (s) for the following processes: JMS [5540-5559] RMI [5520-5539], Database Control [5500-5519] EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]. fix the errors and rerun the wizard of Configuration of EM.

Some of the possible causes can be:

    (1) firewall may be on. Turn the power off.

    (2) port is already in use by another process. The free port or re - run the emca script by providing free ports and command line options.

Sysadmin says that no firewall is turned on as it was the same configuration with the DEV machine. The server has been restarted so that all ports are free.

How to solve this error? How can I check if the firewall was turnedON on Aix?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    How you dropped your repository.

    Try this

    $emca - rest drop

$ emca - deconfig dbcontrol db

also, check the file and remove it manually if necessary

    rm - rf $ORACLE_HOME.

    rm - rf $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_ _

Then try to recreate the db console.

  • Before the race 'emca' questions

Before you run the console emca application
Configure the dbconsole for Oracle enterprise manager,
I have a few questions. I had some problems with
This application in the past and you want to ensure that
I do not make mistakes again.

I had just installed the Oracle software with the option
"installing software only. I have everything set up now.
Currently I have the accounts of users of 'sys', 'system ', he said.
    "GENERAL" among a few others.
I do have the "SYSMAN" account on my system yet. I understand
It's a story that 'emca' will be built and put in place.

My existing account of "GÉNÉRAL" is in a State of 'EXPIRED & LOCKED '.
I never used and never set up a password for it.

    Question #1:
My #1 question is, during the execution of 'emca', the app asks for
the password "SYS", "GÉNÉRAL" and "SYSMAN." I understand those
are the existing passwords for these accounts (if any, if they exist) or
the new passwords, I want to put to them?

In the case of the "SYSMAN" account I don't have even this account now,
that make me think the passwords it asks that are the new passwords I want
for these accounts, in the case of the "SYS" account, I would leave the same password.
    Am I wrong?

    Question #2:
The other question is, does - it necessary for me to 'unlock' the account 'GENERAL '.
before 'emca' or of the running application will take care of this automatically?
Also, should I set up a password for this account before you launch 'emca' and provide
This password even when prompted by 'emca '?

    Question #3:
I have to be connected as sys / < password > @ < SID > as sysdba right? (A network connection)

Also, I should have the database status 'open' or just 'go up' status?

    Question #4:
The last time, I ran 'emca' I got an error related to the time zone that would not allow me
application of Business Manager. Some people told me there is a path in oracle 'MOS' that
solves this "bug". To have access to this fix, do I have to pay to be a member of MOS
and have access to this patch, or is there a way to get this fix without being in a
paid the support contract with Oracle?

I don't know if I get the same error again, if this is a bug, I would.

    Thank you

Wait. You said that you have installed "software only". You said nothing about the creation of a database. without a database, you have NOT ALL accounts.

Yes, dbmsnmp will need to be unlocked, and you will need to know the password.

You run emca of a the operating system command line. What "connection" are you talking about? EMCA asks you what suits him.

    Opened.

MOS (My Oracle Support, formerly MetaLink) is oracle to support those with paid support contracts. There is no other way to get patches.

I don't know if I get the same error again, if this is a bug, I would.

    Bug 8638267
If you select the configuration of database of style "Desktop Class" in the Setup, and after completing the installation, you try to create a database using DBCA or any DBControl using Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant (EMCA) installation, you must set the variable of environment ORACLE_HOSTNAME to "localhost". If you do not ORACLE_HOSTNAME set, then DBCA fails when configuring Enterprise Manager with the following error:
Earphone is not upward or database service is not registered with it. Start the listener and register the service of database and rerun the wizard of Configuration of EM.

Solution: Set the environment variable ORACLE_HOSTNAME to "localhost" and then try to create the database.

  • What is the need of emca

What would be the reason why we use the command below?
    EMCA - config dbcontrol db
Why someone wants to rebuild the dbcontrol anyway?
    Smith

    Hello
last month for one reason or another, I had 2 dbconsoles get corrupted. The SR Oracle answer was simple, rebuild. The reason for these errors, unknown, but do a download agent returned a code 10 error. Reconstruction has solved the problem.

  • EMCA fails with PRKC-1125

    Hi all
    I have a 10g (10.2.0.4 with October CPU)-3 knots RAC on Windows 2003 r2 x 64
I got a new installation of Clusterware and the database engine.
Patch applied successfully on the CRS and the RDBMS.
After all, I created the S3D database and the configuration of the EM Console fails to start windows service on the node where emca is run.
I tried to delete and recreate with the domain administrator account and the local administrator account, but nothing has changed.
I tried emca - reconfig but the error is still the same:

of course, I opened an SR on the Oracle Support and waiting for help...

    Ciao, Eugenio

Please note that on some OS, you can get errors with the sensitivity of the matter of allocation of host names. Please change the S3DBW1. DOMAIN.local to s3dbw1.domain.xxx.

    (A) change the name of the server to a fully qualified name with the name of case

    (B) control the comand nslookup to resolve the IP address and the host name
    Nslookup hostname
    Nslookup IP ADDRESS

    (C) If no DNS server control entries in your hosts file which must be:
    yourhost xxx.xxx.xxx.XX. domain.com yourhost

Regarding the error, please read the ssl certificate used in the Agent Security.
