empty file icons

After updating to Mac OS Sierra I now have white icons for some of my files, in particular my .pes (embroidery files). I need to be able to see the drawings on these files as I did before. How can I fix it?

Try to stop and then restart your machine

I want to make an empty file with no program associated to it, but when I try to create the shortcut displays an icon. How can I create a file with no icon on it.

You can simply rename the file without an extension, or you can create files at the command prompt using one of the following methods:

Use the con command copy and then issue a command CTRL + Z to exit the console example:

    stupid copy file name
    CTRL + Z

    Use the Fsutil command:

    fsutil file createnew

    example:

    fsutil file createnew myfile 0

  • *.psd file icons displayed does not correctly after the CC 2014 update

I just installed the new version of 2014 of some applications like Photoshop, Illustrator Adobe, InDesign and so on.

The only problem was caused by Photoshop.

First of all, all my default manager lost *.psd files, they were empty and no software was set to open.

And then when I chose 2014 CC Photoshop as Manager default *.psd THIS happened:

    http://i.imgur.com/iFv9ngR.PNG

as you can see the icon of the illustrator file is normal, but the *.psd file looks like Photoshop.exe icon and not the *.psd file icon.

any ideas how to fix? (already tried to empty the cache icon)

OS: Win 8.1 Pro WMC Update 1 (just making it clear if anyway, it makes a difference)

I had this problem since CC came out last year and I came across a solution yesterday (finally!)

This implies external Download program 3rd party, but now I have the correct icons, so I'm pretty happy.

Here's what I did, if it helps:

    (1) download Default Programs editor this link here.

    2) once you have extracted the .zip file open the .exe and we go.

    (3) this is the first screen, you get...

    4) click on the first item "File Type settings" and you get this:

    5) click on 'icon '.

    (6) for this example I'll change a file, InDesign icon as I already fixed the Photoshop those. An excerpt from the next screen with the white ghost icon InDesign and yes it works if you have the icon default .exe showing instead of a blank white icon.

    7) type in the search box the file extension, you need. In this case because I'm changing the InDesign file I want it to be .indd but you can use for Photoshop .psd or .ai to Illustrator etc etc.

    (8) now, the program will ask what icon you want. What you need to do is click Browse and browse to the location of the default for the program .exe you change who will be in the folder Program Files. In this case my location is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CC 2014\InDesign.exe

Once you open that default Programs editor will show the full icon set for this program, as you can see below.

    (9) simply select the one you want and click OK. Click the arrow next to the Save icon, and then choose Save in the registry and then BINGO!

    (10) GLANCE! He has worked.

Just need to sort all my other out now, but he receives a helping hand to the top of me!

  • Gmail attach file icon does not work

Is there a way to fix this? I tried to network.http.spdy.enabled to false. No go. I tried to reset all the settings of ie, a suggestion somewhere, no go.

Safe mode - does not work.

This problem seems to be not the case. I can drag files in gmail, but the attach file icon does nothing.

Attach the icon file works under IE, but I am using Firefox.

Is there a fix or do I need a new computer?

In my case, the solution was to let it set while I was sleeping, similar to the way in which the problem was created. I do not recommend this as a solution, but I can say that this is how my problem was solved.

Before going to sleep, I've agonized all day, trying every suggestion I could find, but all without success. I can't say that has had an impact on the solution or not, but I think dying could be required before this will fix itself. Hard to say, I can't do nothing to cause the problem.

Good luck and may the wind blow in the back.

  • I have empty files on CD burning & DVD

On burning data on CD and DVD when they re-inserted in the same PC, the files that have been burned are shown as empty.

However, when the same CD/Dvd is placed in other devices, the information in the files are readable.

By result, although I can back up my files my PC cannot see these files at all.

A simple help would be appreciated.

To be honest, this is the first time you hear on this issue
Empty files? Really strange what s

However, in my opinion it s only a compatibility issues between your burned CDs, DVD and CD/DVD player.

    Your next statement confirms this:
    > When the same CD/Dvd is placed in other devices information within files is readable

I recommend just using and testing the different CD and DVD from different manufacturers.

  • Impossible to get the actual thumbnail image on jpeg files icon

    Original title: JPeg file icons

I can not the icon of the actual thumbnail image on my JPEGs, only the jpeg itself icon. I tried to change the size of the icon to adults, as suggested by one of your readers, but which did not help. I also double checked to ensure I have "thumbnail" check in the view menu. I made sure the "always show icons" is unchecked in Control Panel.  Help?  All of the suggestions. I am running Windows XP.

    Hi Mjoan,

    1. don't you make changes before the show?

Try these steps and check the result.
Step 1: Check if a non-Microsoft program is the cause
    a. open the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353
    b. method 2, follow steps 1 and 2, and then restart the computer to see if the problem persists.
    c. If the problem does not persist in the boot, then follow step 3 and step 4 to find out which is the origin of the problem, and once you have found the culprit, uninstall the program and check the result.

Note: Don't forget to follow the steps in the steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state"" section.

Step 2: We also recommend you scan sfc (System File Checker) to see if any system file is missing or damaged. To do this, try the following steps:
    a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd and click ok.
    b. at the command prompt, type sfc/scannow and press ENTER.

Note: You will be asked to insert the Windows XP disk, if a file is missing.

  • ASA 5505 TFTP to one subnet to another creates the empty file

    Hello world

The Cisco ASA 5505 does not seem to allow the TFTP connection between 192.168.5.103/24 and 192.168.10.202/24. TFTP is normally used in the same subnet, but not in my case. I have a DHCP relay that works, but when I use the free tool from one side to the other tool TFTPD TFTPD, it creates an empty file. Anyone know what config I could be missing in my Cisco ASA?

    Thank you in advance.

    ---

    Nathan

    Hi Jonathan,.

    1. check that tftp server is using the correct interface of the given subnet. (under Server Interfaces on tftpd32)

    2. check if the default gateway have a correct route to the TFTP server.

3 make sure that TFTP server can reach the subnet of the client.

  • Lack of file icons after installing

After the recent update to the 2015,3 versions of Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro, all .ai, icons .aep and .prproj have no image. I contacted the AdobeCare Twitter account, and they recommended that I use the Adobe CC cleaning tool and fresh install all. I did it and it worked perfectly to have, but don't have any AE or PR

They suggested that I post here to see if anyone of you have experienced a similar problem or have solved my problem.

    Screenshot_2.png

What's really weird is that the icon is displayed in the Properties menu, but not in the Explorer window.

    Screenshot_1.png

And I have no idea what's going on with this icon.

    Screenshot_3.png

Just to clarify, I've updated Photoshop so that didn't and no problems with the icons. All have been updated since previous versions of cc 2015 and not had the problem with the missing file icons.

    PROBLEM SOLVED

Safe Mode boot loaded icons and then reboot in normal mode displays icons.

I'm still working on the PR icon.
