I have empty files on CD burning & DVD

On burning data on CD and DVD when they re-inserted in the same PC, the files that have been burned are shown as empty.

However, when the same CD/Dvd is placed in other devices, the information in the files are readable.

By result, although I can back up my files my PC cannot see these files at all.

A simple help would be appreciated.

To be honest, this is the first time you hear on this issue
Empty files? Really strange what s

However, in my opinion it s only a compatibility issues between your burned CDs, DVD and CD/DVD player.

Your next statement confirms this:
> When the same CD/Dvd is placed in other devices information within files is readable

I recommend just using and testing the different CD and DVD from different manufacturers.

DVD is all 720 x 480 (NTSC). That's the reality of what is the resolution in pixels. If you want more, you go Blu - ray. (Or use another reading, usually without the menus, such a H.264 on a usb key).

  • How do I burn a file .img to a DVD and have it be an executable file?

How do I burn a file .img to a DVD and have it be an executable file?

It seems that used to be possible using disk utility, but not more for some reason any.

    Hi Frank

Not sure, what do you mean by executable video file, assume you mean play on a DVD player.

You create an image file to DVD in iMovie, FCPX etc... This allows the correct coding and the structure files for DVD, s / BDs.

Once you have the .img file, you can (control) click on the file and choose ' burn Image 'File name' disk drive...» »

Be aware that you need a R/W drive mounted/Secretary for the contextual elements appear. If you have a Blu - ray image, you need a BD player. Your file must be less than 4.7 GB for single DVDs faces or ~8.2GB for the DVD DLs. to 100GBs for quad layer BDs.

There are other 3rd party there as well.

    Hope this helps, Greg

I get an error when I burn DVDs with windows media player. He asked correctly when I lad the DVDs that I choose to burn a dvd disc. Then I add my video fles she adds and lists. Then I hit burn and it starts to create the dvd disc. All my files are wmv files. The bar regarding % moves to 100% but captured along with burning the disc, he rejected and I get an unspecified error message. with just a button to hit, which will close the error box. The files don't burn the disk accordingly. The disc remains empty.

    Hi N2tjq,

Are a. When you facing this problem?

    B. is - what happens with all DVDs?

    C. recent changes made on the computer?

I firstly you suggests to save the project to your computer, and then try to burn on a DVD at a slower burning speed.

Choose a speed slower burn to your DVD recorder as follows:

1 back to adding photos and video to the DVD page and then click on Options.
    2. in the DVD burner speed box, select medium or slow.

  • Decode the error in the output to the file for later burning to DVD

I have a MPG file in Ulead Media Studio Pro (what's more, I can run because it does not work on Windows 7 using my new PC).  I have created a new project in PE9, added the mpg, dragged to the timeline and said first file to change the project settings to match. It is now PAL DVD top field first.  There is no red line on the timeline above the clip.  When I try to print to a file for later burning to DVD, I get an error of decoding around a particular frame.  When I go near the image in the monitor window and step forward to an image both that it moves smoothly until it gets on the framework in question when there is a noticeable delay to press on the arrow and the time counter updating to next chassis number.  The MPG plays well in Windows Media Player and VLC player - it shows a melted transition crossed to the place that fails in PE9.  Can I do to solve this problem?  I have no software authoring otherwise independent DVDs that would be an option.

It's only a guess, but it seems that there is something wrong with the structure at that time MPEG GOP.

There are several freeware software DVD that run under Wn7, by this RESEARCH. I never have used any, as I have Adobe Encore, but he is now only available in Premiere Pro.

If Ulead worked well with this MPEG file, it is either compatible DVD or Ulead is more lenient than for the PrE. Software Adobe aren't just leniet, because the output is very strict. Some programs, not so much.

Others that eventually make a cut at each end of the crossfade and leave in the form of a cut or shorten the two scenes on each side of the deleted passage and another application, I can't imagine a way to "clean up" the part of the MPEG.

    Sorry, but good luck.

  • Burned DVD shows only not files

I used CDBURNERXP utility to burn the DVD + R DVD and data disk for music files in 4 sessions. Whenever I did the next session, the latest files from session disappeared. In last 4th session I finalized the disc. Now no data files are read by explorere or player or media player and visible. But the DVD shows 4.11 GB of data. What has gone wrong? My method is faulty? How the data can be seen and used

  • I have numerious files on my drive 'C' which are empty. These folders can be deleted safely?

I have many files on my drive 'C' which are empty and I want if I can delete these folders without harming my computer?

For example, in C, I have an empty folder called Config.Msi.

Another folder called perflogs folder with empty named Admin.
Also under perflogs folder a subfolder called Diagnostics with you I have subfolders under him and one of the files is empty.  each subfolder begins with a date, then a-0002, 0003, 0004 (it is empty).
Under Program Files, I have a folder called MSXML 4.0 and it is empty.

There are a few empty folders and subfolders.  If they are not needed I see no point in keeping it in particular it it slows down my computer.

Any help or insight will be appreciated.  I'm not very computer savy, but have a bit of knowledge.

    Hi Louise,.

The files you mentioned are used by system files and processes for various reasons. These folders are hidden by default.

CONFIG. MSI folder is a folder hidden on the drive root Windows, usually C drive. The folder is used by the Windows Installer process during the installation of the software.

Essentially the CONFIG. MSI file contains backups of files that are installed or updated during a program installation. A success, this folder and files are deleted automatically. However, sometimes the installation program is unable to delete these files. In this case, you can safely remove the CONFIG. MSI file and the files on your hard drive.

All of these folders you see are file system created and I would leave him alone.

You can run Disk Cleanup to delete temporary files on the computer.

Hi everyone, yesterday I bought a new Lenovo Y50, but when I tried to launch a video game he acted as if there were no disc inside the dvd recorder.

I just bought, so there is no possibility that my pc is affected by viruses or other issues don't related.
