  Well I thought about it, I have all my music on an external hard drive, if you open the Recycle Bin, click organize on the tab, in the upper part and then click on properties, this opens properties recycling bin. All devices of storage on my computer are displayed. I chose my external HD and they chose the "do not move files to the recycling bin.   I left the registry and now all my sounds are back and the volume icon is once again in my system tray. Who would have thought?
